GLEICHSCHALTUNG: Uh-Oh. Now, Even Barbells Are Problematic. “A CrossFit coach shared that a female who attended his class freaked out after he mentioned that the gym had both men’s and women’s barbells and suggested the latter might be a better fit for her. The woman got angry, accused him of discrimination, and went to the gym owner to complain about said discrimination.”
GLEICHSCHALTUNG:
.@CocaCola's custom can website allows you to use "Harris Walz 2024" but restricts you from using "Trump 2024" because it's "political in nature" or "offensive."
UPDATE: Community notes for the win once more. It’s nice to see a major corporation not taking sides but part of me wonders if Coke banned both out of fear that Trump would win the “Coke poll.”
GLEICHSCHALTUNG: Would You Like a Little State Propaganda with Your Amateur Pr0n? “I think they just wanted some edgy girl of color to just tell people – when they nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson, they’re like, ‘Can you say as a person of color, you know, you feel reflected?'”
During the height of the pandemic summer of 2020, the proprietors of the Burning Bridge Tavern worked with local officials in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, to host a series of outdoor gatherings for the community.
For their trouble, the bar’s owners got slapped with a series of citations by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), the government agency that oversees and manages the sale of alcohol in the state. The citations were ticky-tack offenses, according to Burning Bridge’s chief financial officer, Mike Butler. Twice, the bar was cited for noise violations because they’d allowed a band playing at the gathering to plug into the tavern’s electricity supply. Another offense occurred when the owners and some family members were drinking inside the tavern, which was closed to the public, during a period when indoor dining was prohibited.
A frustrating situation, but not the end of the world. Burning Bridge’s owners paid the fines associated with the citations and assumed that was that. But then the bar had to renew its liquor license.
“They denied it. They said, ‘Oh, you’re the guys that got all those citations,'” Butler says. “It was a real gut punch.”
Turns out, over the past two years the PLCB has pushed dozens of Pennsylvania establishments that racked up pandemic-related citations to sign “conditional licensing agreements” to renew their liquor permits. In some cases, those agreements have forced the sale of licenses—but in most cases, as with Burning Bridge, they’ve added additional conditions to the license that could prevent a future renewal from being approved.
Amazon yielded to pressure from President Joe Biden’s White House to suppress books that opposed COVID-19 vaccines, according to documents reviewed by The Daily Signal.
The House Judiciary Committee obtained the emails, which demonstrate the White House’s pressure on Amazon to suppress “anti-vax books” and the company’s decision to take action against the books.
Amazon employees strategized for a meeting with the White House on March 9, 2021, openly asking whether the administration wanted the retailer to remove books from its catalog.
“Is the [a]dmin asking us to remove books, or are they more concerned about search results/order (or both)?” one employee wrote.
But has the de-gleichschaltung slowly started to happen?
You know what the difference is between last year when everyone was screaming that this was essential health care and now?
Trial lawyers. It’s trial lawyers. And some of them are about to get a massive payday off some very sad kids and some very dumb doctors. https://t.co/BPpSnsfKpC
FIGHT THE GLEICHSCHALTUNG: Jim Caviezel: I Lost Two Agents Over ‘Sound of Freedom.’ “I lost my agents over this. Yep, 17 years, 15 years. I lost my lawyer over this, and now I understand why all these actors didn’t want to do the movie because of this. Listen, you do ‘Schindler’s List’ 50 years later, you’re a hero. Try doing ‘Schindler’s List’ when the real Nazis are right there. Understand how that becomes more dangerous?”
Not even video games are safe from the all-encompassing and increasingly unhinged culture war over LGBT issues. Recently, a streamer and gaming personality known as “Nickmercs” faced widespread backlash online and even had his merchandise deleted from Call of Duty in response to some seemingly innocuous comments about LGBT-related issues.
Here’s what went down.
Earlier this month, violence erupted between activists on opposing sides of a controversy over a Glendale, California, school board and its decision to embrace Pride Month celebrations. Another prominent gaming personality, “Puckett,” commented on this news on Twitter and said, “Americans are in a sad place right now. Let people love who they love and live your own life.”
Nickmercs replied to Puckett’s tweet and said, “They should leave little children alone. That’s the real issue.”
That’s it. That’s all he said. For this supposedly egregious remark, Nickmercs was pilloried on social media and condemned by countless gaming industry media outlets. Here’s a sample of headlines that show how it was portrayed:
“Call of Duty removes Nickmercs skin following streamer’s anti-LGBTQ tweet” — Polygon
“Call of Duty removes streamer’s skin after homophobic comments” — the Verge
“Call Of Duty Removes Nickmercs DLC Over Anti-LGBTQ Tweet” — Gamespot
David Richardson already suing community college district for punishing him for using “Do, Re, Mi” as preferred gender pronouns in mandatory seminar.
A California community college is investigating a tenured history professor for the “serious misconduct” of handing out chocolate, he claims.
The composition of the chocolate wasn’t the problem for Madera Community College, David Richardson told Just the News. It was the gender pronouns on the wrappers: “He/Him” for chocolate bars with nuts and “She/Her” for the “nutless” version, reflecting the human sexual binary.
He shared the human resources letter delivered “by a uniformed police officer” Monday evening at his home.
GLEICHSCHALTUNG: ‘Conservatives Need Not Apply’ Under Biden Administration’s Proposed Hiring Rules. “In a move that has gotten little notice in the press, the Biden administration is proposing federal hiring rules that easily could be abused to deny employment to anyone who questions liberal, woke policies, criticizes the government, or belongs to a politically incorrect organization.”
The financial institution abruptly closed both the business and personal accounts of Brandon Wexler over the Christmas holidays. Wexler is a longtime customer of the bank, having had personal accounts for over 25 years and business accounts for at least 14 years.
In a letter to the dealer, obtained by The Reload, Wells Fargo claims a review of the account deemed Wexler’s business “too risky.”
However, a second letter from Wells Fargo to Wexler indicates that isn’t a completely honest statement. The banking giant explicitly says the reason for yanking the business account is because their guidelines prohibit them from “lending to certain types of businesses.”
Wells Fargo’s real problem is with certain types of people.
