SO WALKING THE SEA OF CLOUDS BY GREY RINEHART:  Got a great review.

“Although as entertaining as some of Heinlein’s early fiction, it is not Heinlein, despite many Heinlein tropes. It seems closer to the type of fiction Jerry Pournelle wrote in the 1960s and 1970s. The style is clearly Rinehart’s own, both readable and involving…. It captures a pioneering era that once was and could be again. Those who seek to explore space will read this and say, this is what pioneering space would and should be like.”

THE BANK ACCOUNT CAN’T BE EMPTY; THEY STILL HAVE SOME CHECKS LEFT:  Dems Are Shocked to Learn that Federal Government Runs a Deficit. Or, if you prefer “if you never balance your checkbook, you never have to admit to debt.”  But what I really like is their idea that they’re entitled to all of our money and that somehow not taking as much money from us as they are now means they’re “adding to the debt.”  No, what is adding to the debt is unconscionable spending.  Stop acting like drunken sailors on shore leave.  And stop putting your hand in my pocket, too.

MY MOM HAD A LONG JOKE, THE PUNCHLINE FOR WHICH WAS “D*MN, IF THEY’RE GOING TO ARREST PEOPLE FOR SWEARING, THE JAILS WILL SOON BE FULL.”  THIS IS KIND OF LIKE THAT, TOO:   Brian Ross Reports Fake News For The Fifth Time, Finally Gets Suspended.  At this point it might be easier to just say “so and so didn’t report fake news.  The rest should consider themselves suspended.”
