THE BEER-SWILLING CURMUDGEONS HAVE A PRETTY GOOD TRACK RECORD:

BUT LEFTISTS SAY THEY SUPPORT CHINA BECAUSE OF ITS COMMITMENT TO HUMAN RIGHTS AND INTERNATIONAL LAW:

LEFTISM IN A NUTSHELL:

HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE UPDATE:

From Grok: “No, this paper has not been discredited, retracted, or formally debunked. It remains a legitimate peer-reviewed study cited in archaeological discussions on Roman-period infanticide. There are no indications of retraction, major corrections, or widespread dismissal in academic sources.”

TRUMP’S SECRET WEAPON: PREFERENCE FALSIFICATION?

He’s too big to dogpile, so he’s a one-man preference cascade.

THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT UNDERSTANDING TRUMP, THEY JUST KNOW THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO HATE HIM:

AN IMPRESSIVE YEAR ONE FOR TRUMP: “MAGA world seems to be down at the mouth lately. Though still months away, the latest polling seems to portend defeat in the upcoming midterms. And yet, looking back over the past year since January 20, 2025, I see not gloomy defeat but an America that has—for the first time in decades—a fighting chance.”

DEFLATION IS WORSE THAN INFLATION:

IT’S EVERYWHERE, IT’S JUST NOT WHAT YOU THINK:

IT WAS A JOKE MAJOR AMONG UNDERGRADS WHEN I WAS IN LAW SCHOOL AT YALE, AND THAT WAS DECADES AGO. IT HASN’T IMPROVED. American Studies Can’t Stand Its Subject: Eighty percent of articles in the field’s leading journal were negative, while not one was positive.

Imagine if, say, African-American studies approached its subject matter the same way.

American Quarterly is only one journal, but what’s found in its pages captures a much larger problem in education, particularly at the collegiate level. During our research, we contacted University of Texas at Austin historian Steven Mintz, who has analyzed the field of American studies. He told us: “A field that once asked, ‘What is America?’—exploring its myths, music, monuments, and contradictions—now too often narrows its focus to a different question: ‘Whom has America silenced, failed, or harmed?’”

This deeply pessimistic view of the U.S. has taken hold of many young people.

That is entirely by design.
