I’VE BEEN WONDERING WHAT WAS GOING ON FOR A LONG TIME: Vaccines for children recommended by CDC advisory committee.
It’s becoming obvious. The entire bureaucracy and apparatus of state is doing the equivalent of climbing a tower and shooting till a cop shoots them down. It used to be called Suicide by Cop. The new version is Suicide by Parents. Probably metaphorical, of course. Probably.
I’M ALMOST SURE HE DIDN’T DO IT, BUT HEY, IT’S ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE: How I Would Have Done It.

OUT ON A LIMB: CEO says San Francisco is a ‘city of chaos’ where retail workers are ‘terrified.’
The progressive CEO of a clothing store chain announced yesterday that he would be closing the San Francisco store because of the frequent break ins by gangs of thieves. Davis Smith who runs the active-wear chain Cotopaxi, described San Francisco as a “city of chaos” and one in which his retail workers are “terrified.” He also described how practical efforts to deal with the problems, such as private security, don’t help because the thieves have learned they won’t be physically stopped or arrested.
It’s sad, but San Francisco appears to have descended into a city of chaos. Many streets and parks are overrun with drugs, criminals, and homelessness, and local leadership and law enforcement enable it through inaction. One of the most beautiful and amazing cities in the world is now a place where many no longer feel safe visiting or living.
We opened a retail store a year ago on Hayes Street, the charming shopping district just blocks away from the famous Full House home. Our first week there, our windows were smashed and thousands of dollars of product was stolen. We replaced the window, and it immediately happened again (four times). We replaced with window with plywood as we waited for a month+ to get a metal security gate installed (demand for those gates is creating huge delays). As of today, we are closing the store due to rampant organized theft and lack of safety for our team. Our store is hit by organized theft rings several times per week. They brazenly enter the store and grab thousands of dollars of product and walk out. We started keeping the door locked and opening it only for customers, but even then, they’ll have a woman go to the door, and then hiding individuals rush into the store as soon as the door opens. Our team is terrified. They feel unsafe. Security guards don’t help because these theft rings know that security guards won’t/can’t stop them. It’s impossible for a retail store to operate in these circumstances, especially when cities refuse to take any action (despite us paying taxes well above any other state we operate in). The city recently announced a reduction of police presence in this neighborhood, despite mass-scale crime.

The only stories I’ve seen involve rock climber Elnaz Rekabi, who competed without a hijab. There were worries about her safety on returning to Iran, but she was met by cheering crowds.

But when you start bringing kids into this nonsense, it makes me want to vomit. What the hell is wrong with everybody? It’s okay to admit this stuff is bad, libs. Your visceral disgust at a man in a dress exposing himself in front of children, while lip-syncing about the vagina he’ll never have, doesn’t make you a bigot. It makes you a human being with a conscience.”

BLAST FROM THE PAST: In search of Umbrella Man.
Officer Christensen’s account of events was taken at face value in the numerous news accounts that immediately followed the Star Tribune story, but it is ludicrous. Spectator USA’s pseudonymous Cockburn conducted a reality check in “The curious Umbrella Man myth.” Subhead: “Cockburn hasn’t seen this many people excited about an umbrella since Mary Poppins hit theaters in 1964.” Cockburn drily noted in July 2020: “Cockburn would have thought that the carnage of the past month would render one man’s window smashing a historical footnote. But instead, the opposite has happened, for the usual 2020 reason: it is politically useful.”
I thought Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey was responsible for the key event that led to the destruction wrought throughout the Twin Cities following the death of George Floyd. The key event was the abandonment of the Third Precinct headquarters on May 28.
Mayor Frey too remains at large. His dereliction was not illegal.
Officer Christensen’s affidavit superimposed a mythical narrative over the events as we saw them unfold. Cockburn observed that it took him “just a single minute on Google to discover rioting and destruction from May 26 — the day before Umbrella Man supposedly kicked everything off.”
Whatever happened to Umbrella Man? He was identified by name and cell phone number in Officer Christensen’s affidavit. He appears to be a bad dude, but did he do more than is depicted in the video above?
There is a yearning on the left to attribute the wave of destruction that emanated from the Twin Cities to “white supremacy” or to “white supremacists.” The left-wing Minnesota Reformer site checked in on the case against Umbrella Man last year in Deena Winter’s story “What’s up with ‘Umbrella Man’?”

THEIR INTERNAL POLLS MUST BE TERRIBLE: Dems Gearing Up for Midterm Blame Game.
KARI LAKE TO REPORTERS: Wanna talk about “election deniers?” I’ve got a few receipts.
LAKE: Let’s talk about election deniers. Here’s 150 examples of Democrats denying election results. Look at this, this is from Joe Biden’s Press Secretary ‘remember Brian Kemp stole the gubernatorial election from Georgians and Stacey Abrams.’ A Democrat was saying that, is that an election denier? Oh look at this, ‘just heard Republican Ryan Costello said it would be difficult for Stacey Abrams to win because she lost her state bid, but she’s still claiming she never lost.’ Hillary Clinton: ‘Trump is an illegitimate President,’ is she an election denier? This on says ‘was the 2016 election legitimate? It is definitely a question worth asking.’ That was the Los Angeles Times. So it’s okay for Democrats to question elections but it’s not okay for Republicans? It’s crock of BS, everyone knows it, we have our freedom of speech and we’re not going relinquish it to a bunch of fake news propagandists. If you want a copy of these I’m sure Anthony will help you get a copy and help you learn how to journalist but look it up. It has been happening for a long time.
Since 2000, people have questioned the legitimacy of our elections. And all we are asking is in the future we do not have to have that anymore. When I’m governor we are going to make sure we have honest elections. We want the Democrats, the Independents, and the Republicans to all know that their vote counted. We want fair, honest, and transparent elections and we are going to deliver that for the people. Hillary Clinton says ‘George W. Bush was selected president not elected.’ So if you are going to start throwing around terms like election denier, lets remember who the other election deniers were Hillary Clinton and all the Democrats.

And now Kari Lake, enjoying a small lead in recent polling, is terrifying Democrats. Axios writes, ‘Democratic Party strategists are watching Arizona’s Kari Lake with growing alarm.’ Democrats told the New York Times that Lake’s ‘charisma and on-camera skills make her uniquely dangerous.’ Well, gee, Arizona Democrats, maybe you should have thought of that before you meddled in the GOP primary, then.”
