VODKAPUNDIT PRESENTS YOUR DAILY INSANITY WRAP: The Racist Ice Cream Horror Has Been Eliminated.
Insanity Wrap needs to know: Why hasn’t the press asked the President if his ice cream represents white supremacy?
Answer: Sorry, we forgot Donald Trump is no longer the President.
Before we get to the sordid details, a quick preview of today’s Wrap.
- Beauty only goes skin deep, but ugly is a marketing campaign
- It was a dark and stormy speech
- The government will tell you whether you’re independent enough to celebrate Independence Day

IT WASN’T AN EARTH-SHATTERING KABOOM: Suspicions on True Origin of World’s Oldest ‘Impact Crater’ Have Now Been Confirmed. “Earth and giant meteorites go way back, but new research confirms that what had been proposed as the oldest impact crater on the planet – the 100-kilometer (62-mile) wide Maniitsoq structure – isn’t actually an impact crater at all.”

STRATEGERY: The Biden Administration’s Afghan ‘Peace Plan’ Is an Act of Desperation. “It puts pressure on the Afghan government while whitewashing the Taliban, for starters.”
While Foggy Bottom hasn’t yet officially acknowledged the authenticity of either document, American press outlets have cited anonymous officials confirming that both documents are genuine.
Per the February 29, 2020, agreement between the Trump administration and the Taliban, the U.S. has until May 1, 2021, to withdraw all American forces from Afghanistan. If the Biden administration fails to do so, then U.S. forces could be more frequently targeted by the Taliban, al-Qaeda, and allied jihadists once again. For the past year, the jihadists have been willing to let the Americans leave. That could change quickly if May 1 comes and goes without a withdrawal extension. Thus far, the Taliban has rejected any suggestion that U.S. or allied forces stay past the agreed upon withdrawal date.
It is with that fast-approaching date in mind that the two State Department documents were written. The proposed “peace” plan is an act of desperation filled with holes.
I get the feeling that the Biden Administration’s major issue with the pre-existing agreement is that it has Trump’s name on it.

DID YOU NOTICE NEWSWEEK’S EVOLUTION OF THEIR FACT-CHECK ON TED CRUZ’S CLAIM ABOUT COVID RELIEF CHECKS? “For some reason, Newsweek needs the Customs and Border Patrol to confirm for them that once someone overstays their visa they are here illegally. Just as Cruz isn’t, we’re not expecting Durbin to apologize either. It’s not merely the Daily Beast though that owes Cruz an apology for not acknowledging he told the truth. Then again, it is fitting that the senator would focus on this specific outlet. The story appears as part of a ‘Rile People Up’ section for the Daily Beast. Even just a basic search shows that they are obsessed with Cruz, with the outlet covering the senator multiple times a day, especially late last month. In case the senator is looking for more outlets to correct the record, he might wish to keep Mediate, the San Antonio Current, and Business Insider.”
HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF: Yesterday a Georgetown law professor was fired for getting too close for comfort to the truth about the effects of race-preferential admissions. But it was not the first hullabaloo on that topic to erupt at Georgetown. Here’s the story:
In early 1991, a third-year law student—I’ll just call him “John Doe” here—took a job as a part-time file clerk in the admissions office. He probably figured it would be a good way to earn some extra money without cutting too much into his study time. If he had only known …. In a few weeks, this former Peace Corps volunteer would be vilified by the Georgetown University faculty, his fellow students, and the editorial pages of some of the nation’s major newspapers. Over the course of the next year and a half, he would be fighting for his right to practice law.
ANALYSIS: TRUE. The Mouse House Has Become A Cathedral Of Smiling Hate. “You cannot be a champion of diversity and inclusion while you actively discriminate against Americans purely on the basis of viewpoint and political participation. Joe McCarthy would be very proud of Disney CEO Bob Chapek and former CEO Bob Iger, but that’s hardly something that Disney would wish to tout. The great irony is that their actions are demonstrating that Gina Carano’s concerns were entirely justified. That’s also the great evil.”
HOW IT STARTED: Albany’s Dead-Of-Night Coronavirus Vote Gives Cuomo Sweeping New Emergency Powers.
—The Gothamist, March 6, 2020.
How it was reported by the DNC-MSM, ten days later:
How it ended up:
UPDATE: They’re Trying to Impeach Andrew Cuomo for the Wrong Thing. “There’s no beating around the bush: This was de facto eugenics, wiping out the disabled and the elderly. And while we must criticize him for yelling at his employees, flirting with young female subordinates, and possibly inappropriately touching them, it is crucial that we not forget the thousands of lives lost due to his negligence. His sexual misconduct may indeed be cause for impeachment; but we cannot let it overshadow the loss of life he oversaw. Impeach Governor Cuomo. But make sure you’re impeaching him for the right thing. The ‘allegations of misconduct’ that are serving as the basis for the impeachment inquiry must include the massacre he oversaw.”

ROGER SIMON: More Big Tech Hypocrisy: Apple Blackballs Parler… Again!
“The Cupertino tech giant pulled the app in the wake of the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol. At the time, Apple said Parler could return to the App Store if it changed its moderation guidelines to comply with its terms of service.”
As it came back online, Parler changed its community guidelines to new policies written by Chief Policy Officer Amy Peikoff. But an App Store review found that the updated policies and moderation practices were insufficient to comply with Apple’s rules, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
“‘After having reviewed the new information, we do not believe these changes are sufficient to comply with App Store Review guidelines. There is no place for hateful, racist, discriminatory content on the App Store,’ Apple wrote to Parler on Feb. 25.”
Commenters on AppleInsider pointed out the painfully obvious hypocrisy here, of which many readers of The Epoch Times are, I’m sure, well aware.
Facebook and Twitter were loaded with at least as many—I would bet hugely more due to their size—incendiary posts before the Jan. 6 Capitol event than Parler.
Someone using the amusingly apropos handle “1984called” put it this way:
“You have got to be kidding. Apple, seriously, putting out this statement and yet they allow Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and just take a look at the top hip hop songs on Apple Music. Disgusting. Apple is spitting in your face and telling you it’s raining.”
Not bad. That about says it all about their naked partisanship… but… dare I say it…
“One more thing!”
Apple—like its Big Tech brethren—has a horrendous record when it comes to the People’s Republic of China. For many years, until others pointed it out, Apple cooperated completely with the communist regime in order to manufacture its products in China.
The astonishingly onerous working conditions for their Chinese employees would never have been tolerated in most Western countries, but why would Apple have cared? It’s all about the bottom line.
And after all, they didn’t seem to mind that the same regime was well known — I’m certain to high level and undoubtedly educated Apple executives— to have concentration camps in Xinjiang Province reeducating and doing far worse to their Uyghur and Tibetan population as well as Christians, political dissidents, Falun Gong practitioners and so forth.
As Jim Geraghty wrote in October of 2019, when the CCP-NBA connection was exposed for millions of Americans to see, in a sort of prelude to what was to come the following year: We’re Not Exporting Our Values to China — We’re Importing Theirs.
GOVERNMENT SOLUTIONS ARE USUALLY WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM: India’s punishing new social media rules could be a nightmare for the tech giants. “The new legislation requires internet platforms like Facebook and Twitter to quickly take down content that the Indian government says is ‘unlawful’ — and could have a chilling effect on its citizens’ free speech.”
Less a “nightmare” for Big Tech than for the Indian people.
I like Poland’s solution.
HMM: UNC staff, police won’t provide info on vandalism suspect held for ‘medical evaluation’ for six weeks. “A suspect who is accused of vandalizing a social justice organization’s building at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill appears to still be held at a hospital for ‘medical evaluation.’ Other media outlets have reported he is being held for a psychiatric evaluation, but university officials have not used those words in emails to The College Fix.”
Just spitballing here, but if it were a white Trump supporter, I’ll bet the info would have leaked out.
