I’M GLAD TO SEE THIS, SINCE HE ACTUALLY MAKES STUFF: Elon Musk passes Bill Gates to become world’s second-richest person.
KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Unfortunately, No Kraken Will Be Served for Thanksgiving. “One does not promise a Kraken, then proceed in a most un-Krakenlike manner, as Powell soon found out.”

SOMEONE SET UP US THE BOMB: Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan says no one has a ‘constitutional right to walk around without a mask.’
THIS WOULD BE EASIER TO DO IF OUR PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTIONS HADN’T SQUANDERED THE PUBLIC TRUST, AND IF OUR NEWS INDUSTRY HADN’T GONE ALL-IN ON PANIC-MONGERING TO UNSEAT TRUMP: US Could Reach Herd Immunity by May 2021 If 70% of Americans Get the Vaccine, Top Doctor Says.
DEMS HOPED TO CRUSH AND DEMORALIZE THE DEPLORABLES, BUT IT’S NOT WORKING OUT THAT WAY: Four more years: 66% GOP wants Trump to run in 2024, 79% say election ‘stolen.’
Hey, it’s not like I didn’t warn them:
Trump was big on the national stage long before he was president. Why would he go away after the election is over? He’ll still have tens of millions of (probably angry) followers, deep pockets and a huge megaphone.
There has already been some talk of Trump starting his own television network to rival Fox News, and/or his own social media platform — the latter made more plausible by the heavy censorious hands of those running Twitter and Facebook — and I suspect that Trump would regard a 2020 loss as a setback, not a defeat. Grover Cleveland came back to win a second term after losing the White House, Trump might reason. Why not me? He’ll probably hold campaign-style rallies around the country starting right after the election.
Trump’s been down before and staged dramatic comebacks. I’m sure he thinks he can do it again, and so do a lot of his supporters.
#METOO: White House still planning holiday parties, despite coronavirus warnings.

BYRON YORK: How Republicans Crashed Nancy Pelosi’s Party.
Not long before Election Day, the Associated Press ran a story headlined “House already won? Pelosi thinks so, and reaches for more.” The article said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was so confident about keeping control of the House that she was preparing for an expanded Democratic majority. “Pelosi notes experts have suggested Democrats will pick up between five and 15 House seats,” the outlet reported. The speaker said her “goal originally was to hold the House,” but with the prospects of a big victory, “everything we get after that will just be a further enhancement.”
A week later, Pelosi and fellow Democratic leaders were stunned when the party not only did not pick up 15, or even five, seats but actually lost at least nine seats — the count is still going on in a few final races — and came dangerously close to losing the House altogether. The predictions that President Trump was a drag on Republicans and that the Left’s agenda was experiencing new popularity turned out to be wrong.

ONE GIANT STEP BACKWARDS: One of the best things the Trump Administration’s Department of Education did was turn away from the Obama Era policy prohibiting disparate impact based on race in school discipline. There are already hints that the Biden Administration will return to that policy. Here is my explanation for why such a return would be very unfortunate for both students and teachers.

NEWS YOU CAN USE: Buy a Pulse Oximeter in Case You Catch Covid. I was looking into why having a pulse oximeter at home in case you get Covid for the reasons discussed in the link isn’t strongly recommended by the public health establishment. Having read a bunch of articles that acknowledge the potential benefits but stop short of recommending purchase, medical professionals are afraid people with low levels for other reasons (like sleep apnea) will become convinced they have Covid, that people feeling really, really awful with Covid who may need medical attention won’t call them them if their blood oxygen levels are okay, and so forth. I.e., some people are too stupid to use it wisely/properly. Some people may in fact be, but why refrain from recommending it for everyone on that basis? I think it’s the same with Vitamin D–fear that instead of taking a reasonable dose to ensure no deficiency, people will conclude that if 2000 IUs daily is good, 200,000 (which is toxic) is better. We really shouldn’t be making medical policy based on the (perceived) lowest common denominator
FITTING: Buttigieg Campaign Office to Become Pole Dancing Studio. “A fitting homage to former mayor’s legacy of aggressive gentrification.”
WELL: Apple security chief Thomas Moyer indicted in concealed firearm permit bribery case. “According to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, Apple Chief Security Officer Thomas Moyer and insurance broker Harpreet Chadha were accused of offering bribes to Santa Clara Undersheriff Rick Sung and Captain James Jensen to receive concealed firearm (CCW) permits.”
Normally, I’d cut anyone slack for doing whatever they think is necessary to try and get a CCW in California, but then there’s this from 2016: Apple Removes The Gun Emoji, Replaces It With A Squirt Gun.
UNEXPECTEDLY: Oregon Tougher on Thanksgiving Families than Antifa Terrorists.
If you’re a family of faith, you may be out of luck if you don’t line up early for church. While faith institutions may stay open, they can only host 25 people indoors. Be thankful, this holiday season, if you’re able to enjoy your constitutionally protected right at all.
If you violate any of the governor’s orders, you’ll be subject to hefty fines or even jail time. According to the order, knowingly violating the will of Brown is a misdemeanor offense. You could be hit with $1,500 fine or 30 days in jail—or both.
In stark contrast, if you’re an Antifa domestic terrorist who participated in near-nightly riots in Portland, you weren’t treated as harshly. Indeed, if you managed to get arrested, you were likely quickly released and almost certainly not charged.
It’s much easier to target innocent families enjoying Thanksgiving than mask-wearing thugs. I suspect even in Oregon, “the chump effect” is a growing phenomenon.
