THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: Biden Blames the Jews for His Ukraine Policy.

Yet even then, in December 2016, Israel again took Kyiv’s side at the U.N. in a vote on the human rights situation in Crimea.

How did Vice President Biden show his appreciation for Israel’s principled stance against Putin’s war in Europe? Less than a week later, he strong-armed the Ukrainian president to vote for Security Council Resolution 2334, finding that Israel was in occupation of Palestinian land—which according to the resolution included historical Jewish holy sites. The Ukrainians asked to abstain, but Biden said no. Kyiv then asked for a delay. There was a large and influential Jewish community in Ukraine with family ties to Israel. And after all, what would the optics be of turning against Jerusalem just days after the Israelis had stood with Ukraine? That was not good enough for Biden. So the Ukrainians joined the other powers the Obama team had corralled into voting against Israel.

The Biden administration’s moves against Israel over Ukraine are part of a ghoulish puppet show. Yes, the administration will sanction the Russian economy until it bleeds—at the same time that the nuclear deal with Iran gives Russia a cash-rich client eager to buy Russian arms. And why not? From the perspective of the Obama-Biden faction, Russia is hardly the main problem. That distinction is reserved for Israel.

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: Biden Blames the Jews for His Ukraine Policy. “Despite some occasional public vows of affection for Israel, Obama’s performative progressives, who staff nearly every important position in the Biden administration, do not see it as an ally. Insofar as Israel jeopardizes the Iran deal, it is a U.S. adversary. Russia, on the other hand, is an important partner in getting the deal across the finish line.”

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: Israel ‘shouldn’t exist as a Jewish state,’ Amnesty USA director tells Democratic group.

Following Amnesty International’s recent report that accused Israel of “apartheid” in its treatment of Palestinians, the group’s USA director appeared to go a step further on Wednesday, suggesting to a Women’s National Democratic Club audience that the bulk of American Jews do not want Israel to be a Jewish state, but rather “a safe Jewish space” based on “core Jewish values.”

Paul O’Brien said one of Amnesty’s goals in publishing the report, which was roundly criticized by Israeli and American officials, is to “collectively change the conversation” on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “It needs to start first and foremost with the Jewish community,” O’Brien, who is not Jewish, said.

The Amnesty official rejected a 2020 survey conducted by the Ruderman Family Foundation that found that eight in 10 Jewish Americans identify as “pro-Israel,” and two-thirds feel emotionally “attached” or “very attached” to the Jewish state.

“I actually don’t believe that to be true,” O’Brien said regarding those figures. “I believe my gut tells me that what Jewish people in this country want is to know that there’s a sanctuary that is a safe and sustainable place that the Jews, the Jewish people can call home.”

Flashback: Amnesty Pulls Aleksei Navalny’s ‘Prisoner Of Conscience’ Status Over ‘Hate Speech.’

Amnesty International has reportedly withdrawn its recent designation of Russian opposition politician Aleksei Navalny’s as a “prisoner of conscience” over his alleged advocacy of violence and discrimination and comments that included hate speech.

Aleksandr Artemyev, the rights watchdog’s media manager for Russia and Eurasia, confirmed the decision to Mediazona on February 23 after the news was first reported by U.S. journalist Aaron Mate.

RFE/RL was unable to independently confirm the reports.

Artemyev wrote that Amnesty, which named Navalny a prisoner of conscience after his arrest in Moscow in January, decided to retract the designation “in light of new information” stemming from “old videos and social media posts in which Navalny made controversial pronouncements.”

The comments attributed to Navalny in the mid-2000s were not specified, but Artemyev said they were made as Navalny’s activism and challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin was gaining momentum and that their reemergence “appears to be another tactic to delegitimize Navalny’s work and criticism and to weaken public outcry about his detention.”

Back in 2003, the late Steven Den Beste compared the ACLU with Amnesty International, after the latter forgot its original mission (remember those “to freedom!” ads that ran on MTV in the 1980s?) over how its members (read: fundraisers) viewed the Iraq War:

It’s not going too far to say that many of Amnesty International’s members have approximately as strongly negative of feelings now about America and George Bush as the ACLU’s members had about the Nazis when the ACLU defended them in Skokie.

The ACLU made the principled decision and weathered the downturn in contributions. When condemnation of Iraq didn’t make AI look as if it was aligning with America, Amnesty International was willing to try to shine a spotlight on the abuses there. But now AI has suddenly gone silent. The abuses against the citizens of Iraq have not stopped; indeed they’ve gotten worse. In addition to ongoing violent repression of Iraq’s civilian population, various Iraqi military and para-military units have been directly violating the Geneva Convention by, for instance, abusing the white flag of truce, and by using protected humanitarian facilities to hold military equipment, and by using “human shields” in combat, and by directly firing at refugees, and in numerous other ways.

And what we’re seeing is that AI seems unwilling to make more than oblique mention of these things, while at the same time explicitly condemning the US for what are at best minor transgressions by comparison. Why is it more important to strongly focus attention on “censorship” while ignoring mass slaughter of refugees?

In retrospect, Conquest’s second law of politics (“Any organization not explicitly right-wing sooner or later becomes left-wing”) dictates that it was only a matter of time before the ACLU would similarly lose the thread.

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: BLM Assassin and Black Supremacist/Anti-Semite Bailed Out By BLM… With a Little Help from You-Know-Who…

The very same media which tells me that it is desperately afraid of a new pogrom whenever there’s a pro-Democrat storyline in an antisemitic attack sure seems to get very, very quiet about the great majority of antisemitic attacks in the US.

Is it not Time for a National Discussion on Antisemitism?

Why not?

Does only Fake Jake Tapper know when it’s the proper Time for a National Discussion About Antisemitism? Does he feel it aching in his bones, like some people can feel the rain coming?

It’s almost as if they don’t care at all about Jews being beaten or killed — they only care about political propaganda for their beloved Democrat Socialist Party.

On to the Disappeared Man, on to Mr. Yesterday’s News, on to Local Crime Story No. 33,247, Qunitez Brown:

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: Whoopi Goldberg: The Holocaust wasn’t about race because it involved two groups of white people.

I’ve watched this three times and have no idea what she’s getting at.

But I bet the Nazis would be surprised to hear that the Jews whom they tried to exterminate were part of the same racial group as the Nazis themselves.

The panel was discussing the decision made by one Tennessee school district to remove Art Spiegelman’s “Maus” from the eighth-grade curriculum due to, of all things, language and nudity. Evidently a story about people (represented in the novel by mice) being sent to Auschwitz wasn’t too mature for 13-year-olds to handle but a drawing of a nude anthropomorphic mouse crossed the line.

A Twitter pal watched this and asked, “Uh, is she really ‘all lives mattering’ the Holocaust?”

* * * * * * * *

Whatever she meant, I’m excited to see how Whoopi cleans this up on tomorrow’s show. Oh, and Behar is right about a burst in sales for “Maus” amid the coverage of what happened in Tennessee. The two volumes currently occupy the top three spots on Amazon’s list of bestselling comics and graphic novels. Nothing gooses interest in a book like some authority deeming it unfit.

Exit quotation from Steve Krakauer: “If Joe Rogan said ‘The Holocaust isn’t about race’ and that ‘these are two white groups of people,’ we’d never stop hearing about it from the Acela Media’s loudest anti-speech activists…”

Flashback: Whoopi Goldberg Entertains Moon Landing Conspiracy Theories.

Not surprisingly, as of the time of this post, there’s no reference to Goldberg’s meltdown on the CBS and NBC news websites, let alone ABC News itself, which co-produces the View, as the guild protects its own. (See also: Tom Brokaw and Peter Jennings defending Dan Rather.)

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: Ocasio-Cortez staffer calls Israel a ‘racist European ethnostate’ that was built on ‘stolen land.’

A staffer for “Squad” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., referred to Israel as a “racist European ethnostate” on social media.

Hussain Altamimi joined Ocasio-Cortez’s office in November as a legislative assistant, posting shortly after a picture of him and the congresswoman on Instagram with the caption “New beginnings.”

Then, last week, Altamimi targeted Israel in an Instagram story calling the U.S.’s key Middle Eastern ally a “racist European ethnostate.”

“Israel is a racist European ethnostate built on stolen land from its indigenous population!” Altamimi wrote on Christmas Eve, according to a screenshot obtained by Fox News Digital.

DISPATCHES FROM THE INTERSECTION OF THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND THE K-12 IMPLOSION: DC Librarian Who Made Children Reenact Holocaust Is Failed Dem Candidate, Convicted Fraudster, and Animal Abuser. Kimberlynn Jurkowski defrauded New Jersey of $24k, abused dogs.

The principal of Watkins Elementary School, Scott Berkowitz, did not return a request for comment on Jurkowski. D.C. Public Schools did not respond to multiple requests for comment, including about whether it was familiar with Jurkowski’s criminal record prior to hiring her.

Since working in D.C. Public Schools, Jurkowski has struck an ultra-partisan combative tone online. Her Twitter account is filled with retweets of calls to abolish the police and defend Palestinian terrorism. One Al Jazeera post she shared claims that a Palestinian terrorist named Ahmad Erekat was killed by Israeli police but fails to mention that he was shot after ramming his car into Israelis.

Watkins Elementary School is located just outside a city ward represented by a Democratic lawmaker who claimed that Jews control the weather.

We need a complete and total shutdown of DC until we can figure out just what the hell is going on there.

THE CORBYNIZATION OF DEMOCRATIC CONTINUES APACE: AOC goes full Jeremy Corbyn.

For a party whose members hear supposed racial dog whistles in even the most mundane language, it’s amazing Democrats never seem to notice their own actual dog whistles.

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York went full Jeremy Corbyn  this week in defense of a fellow New York House Representative, Jamaal Bowman, who has been targeted by the Democratic Socialists of America for being insufficiently committed to the cause of Palestine.

Bowman, whose district is heavily Jewish, “has been an incredible champion [for Palestine] given the community that he’s in,” Ocasio-Cortez told Politico this week.

Well, this is subtle!

* * * * * * * *

Yes, Bowman’s district has a large Jewish population. So, go ahead and determine for yourself what Ocasio-Cortez meant by “given the community that he’s in.” A faithful paraphrasing could easily read, “He’s doing a pretty good job advocating for Palestine, considering he’s at the mercy of the Jews in his district!”

Ah, where are those dog-whistle experts when you need them?

Ocasio-Cortez blames Jewish constituents and sets forth a double standard when it comes to Israel. You probably won’t hear her complain about the genocide China is conducting, but Israel is somehow perfidious for even just defending its civilian population from indiscriminate missile attacks.

“What he is doing is walking a very difficult path, quite alone,” the congresswoman added. “I think the goal here is to stand with and advocate for Palestinian human rights. And so what’s really important for us is to transform the communities into supporting that.”

DISPATCHES FROM THE INTERSECTION OF THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE AND THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY: Allegations of bigotry and calls for impeachment rock College Democrats.

The kids are not alright.

The College Democrats of America — the Democratic Party’s national organization presiding over 500 chapters on campuses across the country — is in turmoil.

The group’s leaders are publicly firing off accusations of anti-Blackness, Islamaphobia and anti-Semitism at each other. Impeachment proceedings are now in the works against the organization’s new vice president, Nourhan Mesbah, who is Muslim. College Democrats say that screenshots of tweets that their peers sent in adolescence spread rapidly through group texts, which already caused a student running for president of the group to withdraw their candidacy in September. And national advocacy groups for Muslim and Jewish Americans are now weighing in with criticism.

The conflict has gotten so messy that the Democratic National Committee is considering disaffiliating with the national collegiate organization altogether and creating a partnership with the state groups underneath the national umbrella, according to a Democrat familiar with the discussions. The DNC declined to comment.

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: Is Mayim Bialik too Jewish for Jeopardy?

That means that everything Bialik has ever said or done is being gone through with a fine-tooth comb. According to left-wing CBS late-night comedy-show host Stephen Colbert, the only people who don’t think she’s controversial are those without access to the Internet. A search of her YouTube videos would show that she has expressed an opinion about just about every aspect of her life as a parent (about which she has also written two books), her divorce, open relationships, sexual harassment, holistic medicine, food (she is vegan) and her experiences as a sitcom actress. So there’s plenty of ammunition for critics.

Although the charming and knowledgeable Trebek often sounded as if he knew the answers to many of the questions on the show even without being told, he was just a radio and television announcer who went on to success as a popular game-show host. Bialik was a successful child actress. She took a long break from the arts to go to college and ultimately wound up with a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA before eventually returning to acting as a better way to support and spend more time with her children, as opposed to a position as a research scientist. That, along with her own brand of charm and comic timing, as well as long experience in the rigors of work in television, made her a solid candidate for the coveted position.

Yet as the Times article—and the many comments appended to it from readers who highlight their anger about someone who is not supportive of “Palestine”—makes clear, her connection with Judaism seems to stick in a lot of people’s throats.

Why is the establishment left such a cesspit of antisemitism?

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: NYT Removes Line Saying AOC Changed Iron Dome Vote Because of “Influential Lobbyists and Rabbis.”

However: “[Y]ou know how we’ve all been saying that the [Times] edited—stealth edited, but still—its ugly language about ‘rabbis’ are responsible for smothering AOC’s principles? That’s only partially true. Readers of the print edition still learn about the nefarious rabbis.”

UPDATE: The sheer contempt with which the Times appears to hold Jews, Jewish interests, Jewish safety and Jewish publications is tangible. Depressingly enough, it is hardly new.

(Updated and bumped.)

DISPATCHES FROM THE EARLY DAYS OF THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY: New York City’s Kristallnacht.

Ed Koch called it “a pogrom.” So did Rudy Giuliani. The Reverend Al Sharpton—the chubby, agitating, last-century version—led a march along the streets as rioting young blacks rampaged through the neighborhood looking for Jews and Jewish businesses to attack. Hasidim cowered behind their mezuzah-trimmed doors while the sluggish police ducked rocks and bottles. New York’s first African-American mayor, the courtly David Dinkins, showed up, hoisted a bullhorn, and tried to pacify the mob.

“Will you listen to me for just a minute?” he pleaded.

“No!” they responded, trying to stone him.

“I care about you. I care about you desperately,” he shouted.

“Arrest the Jews!” they demanded.

That was the raw scene 30 years ago, in August 1991, when the worst race rioting in modern New York memory engulfed Crown Heights in Brooklyn. Caribbean immigrants, American blacks, and Hispanics shared the neighborhood with a heavily outnumbered community of Jews, most of them Lubavitcher Hasidim. The convulsive episode drove Dinkins’s handpicked black police commissioner back to Houston and helped doom his mayoralty, but not before that commissioner’s successor, Ray Kelly, began to reenergize the police force. This, in turn, gave momentum to Rudy Guiliani’s more muscular regime once he had defeated Dinkins in the mayoral election two years later.

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: Ilhan Omar Knows What She’s Doing.

It is also the latest indication that the party is following in the footsteps of the British left, led until recently by Squad ally Jeremy Corbyn. A report from the United Kingdom’s Equality and Human Rights Commission implicated not just Corbyn, whose offenses are legion, but the Labour Party itself, which “at best, did not do enough to prevent anti-Semitism and, at worst, could be seen to accept it.”

To the extent there is resistance in the Democratic Party to Omar’s relentless attacks on Jews and her condemnations of American power and influence, surely it is driven at least in part by the shellacking the British left took in the last national election there.

Should the Democrats continue down this path, we have faith that the outcome for the left will be the same here as in Britain, and that the more they see of Omar and her allies, the dimmer their prospects become.

CORBYNIZATION IS WORKING: Why American Jews are looking to Israel. “For much of the past century, America has dominated the Jewish world. It has been a semi-sacred ‘safe place’, where anti-Semitism only rarely impinged on the national political culture. Yet today, American Jews face levels of anti-Semitism not seen since the 1930s, with half saying they have observed anti-Semitic incidents over the past year.”

Ilhan Omar was unavailable for comment.
