TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): Teacher at troubled youths center charged with rape. “A female teacher at a residential center for troubled youths in Yonkers, N.Y., was arrested Wednesday after allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old male student, authorities said Thursday. The 34-year-old Leake & Watts teacher, Meaghan White, is charged with rape. She is accused of having sex with the boy at Willson’s Woods Park, a Westchester County park in Mount Vernon, N.Y., said Kieran O’Leary, a county police spokesman.”

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D):

For many feminists, questioning claims of rampant sexual violence in our society amounts to misogynist “rape denial.” However, if the CDC figures are to be taken at face value, then we must also conclude that, far from being a product of patriarchal violence against women, “rape culture” is a two-way street, with plenty of female perpetrators and male victims.

How could that be? After all, very few men in the CDC study were classified as victims of rape: 1.7 percent in their lifetime, and too few for a reliable estimate in the past year. But these numbers refer only to men who have been forced into anal sex or made to perform oral sex on another male. Nearly 7 percent of men, however, reported that at some point in their lives, they were “made to penetrate” another person—usually in reference to vaginal intercourse, receiving oral sex, or performing oral sex on a woman. This was not classified as rape, but as “other sexual violence.”

And now the real surprise: when asked about experiences in the last 12 months, men reported being “made to penetrate”—either by physical force or due to intoxication—at virtually the same rates as women reported rape (both 1.1 percent in 2010, and 1.7 and 1.6 respectively in 2011).

In other words, if being made to penetrate someone was counted as rape—and why shouldn’t it be?—then the headlines could have focused on a truly sensational CDC finding: that women rape men as often as men rape women.

Rape culture, indeed.

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): Police: New charges after woman visits alleged rape victim’s school.

A Montgomery County woman previously charged with statutory rape was arrested Friday after visiting the alleged victim’s school, according to police.

Jennifer Hodges was charged with violation of protection and contempt of court on top of her statutory rape charge. . . . Hodges was arrested for the statutory rape charge on June 19 and is set to appear in court Oct. 1. Hodges is also set to appear in court Sept. 24 for the violation of protection and contempt of court charges.

You know, you just see more of these stories all the time, it seems.

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): Lawsuit: Female Nurse Had Sex With Medicated Patient. “A man who was in the ICU on medication and awaiting a heart transplant says a nurse came into his room and had sex with him against his wishes, reports CBS Chicago. . . . The suit accuses the facility of negligence because the nurse had a history of such things.”

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO LIE ABOUT RAPE! (CONT’D): Stanford University employee charged with lying about campus rapes. “A Stanford University employee who claimed that she was raped twice on campus was charged with lying about the alleged sexual assaults, prosecutors said. Authorities unearthed alleged evidence showing that Jennifer Ann Gries made up the bogus accusations about a co-worker whom she also falsely claimed to be dating.”

Stanford is looking to be a cesspit of craziness. “In January of this year, Gries admitted to investigators that she lied about being raped because she was angry at her co-worker. Greis said she felt that her co-worker gave her ‘false intention’ and turned her friends against her, according to prosecutors.”

He should sue:

The saga “scarred” him and the false accusations took a toll on him, especially during a time when he was caring for his gravely ill mother who later died.

The man, a victim in the ordeal, was able to also provide evidence that corroborated his whereabouts, authorities said.

He told investigators, “This is disgusting. I don’t feel human. I don’t feel human at all.”

Gries was charged on Monday with two felony counts of perjury and two misdemeanor counts of inducing false evidence.

Just to make a point.

A CORROLLARY TO REYNOLD’S MAXIM: Teach women not to lie about rape, too:
The University of Maryland, Baltimore County will pay three former baseball players a combined $450,000 to settle a defamation case they brought against the college after they said they were wrongly accused of rape and had the false allegations printed in the college’s newspaper.

Truth be told, I don’t think $450,000 has quite enough “sting.”

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO LIE ABOUT RAPE: Believe All Women?

You may have read about the case of Alice Sebold and Anthony Broadwater. Sebold is now a pretty well-known novelist; Broadwater spent 16 years in prison after being convicted of raping Sebold when she was 18 years old. Sebold wrote a memoir titled Lucky about her rape and the prosecution of Broadwater, which started her on her way to literary success. But Broadwater has now been exonerated and his conviction overturned. As a result, Sebold has publicly apologized to Broadwater. . . .

This “apology” strikes me as a classic of our moment in history. Sebold blames “the American legal system,” and jumps on the BLM train: “he became another young black man brutalized by our flawed legal system.” And the passive voice here is exquisite: “I will forever be sorry for what was done to him.”

Done to him by whom? It was Sebold who identified Broadwater, Sebold who drove his prosecution, Sebold who testified under oath, in court, that he raped her. Our “flawed legal system” consists of the police officers, prosecutor, and ultimately the jury that believed Sebold’s testimony–testimony that turned out to be false.

And she profited directly from that injustice.

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO LIE ABOUT RAPE: Law professor falsely accused of rape, wins defamation case. The woman who lied is named Morgan Wright. “In his blistering ruling on Tuesday, Hennepin County Judge Daniel Moreno wrote that Parisi’s former lover, Morgan Wright, had pursued an ‘untruthful narrative crusade,’ and her ‘accusations were false, and made with malice.'”

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO LIE ABOUT RAPE: Taxi driver framed for rape now scared to carry females.

A taxi driver falsely accused of rape by a passenger has told a court that he is now afraid to pick up female fares, as the judge in the case warned a woman she faces jail over the allegations.

Laura Hood, 27, maintained for more than two-and-a-half years she had been attacked by taxi driver Haroon Yousaf, but last week finally admitted that the incident did not take place.

But she continued to deny the allegation against her and said she was innocent because she had not knowingly lied, and instead had a false belief of “something so clear in my head”.
