THAT’S NOT FUNNY: So This Conservative Comic Goes on Social Media and… “Openly conservative stand-up Nick Di Paolo got suspended from YouTube for supposedly sharing false information, after ridiculing the left’s exaggerations of the virus in attacking President Trump. Comedian Chrissie Mayr’s video mocking China’s handling of COVID-19 — ‘Kung Flu Fighting’ — was erased by Instagram, which deemed it ‘hate speech’ despite featuring a diverse lineup of comics. The Babylon Bee, the right’s online answer to the satirical site The Onion, has been at war with Facebook for years. The social media giant intermittently threatens to de-platform the site for spoof articles that moderators apparently take seriously, such as its 2018 report that CNN had purchased industrial-sized washing machines to better ‘spin’ the news.”

THE DAM HAS BROKEN: Calls grow for Cuomo to quit from top New York lawmakers. “Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins became the first senior Democrat in the state to say the three-term governor should resign. Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie stopped short of demanding that Cuomo quit, but said in a statement that ‘it is time for the Governor to seriously consider whether he can effectively meet the needs of the people of New York’.”

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Trump Informs GOP Higher-Ups That It’s Still His Party. “As The Hill article noted, this seems to be an attempt by Trump to ‘solidify his standing as a top kingmaker in the GOP.’ ‘The’ top kingmaker would be more like it. Who else in the Republican party has that kind of power? The MSM hacks are still lost in a dreamland where they think the Romney wing of the party is respected and has some clout.”

ANALYSIS: TRUE. What China Really Wants: A New World Order. “The hope of U.S. engagement policy was to invite China into an international community based on free trade and mutually beneficial cooperation, ultimately changing China. Yet in the last 40 years, the CCP has become more internally authoritarian, and outwardly China has opened up only to a relatively small degree. At the same time, the U.S. has fully let the CCP enmesh with us and use our free system to its own advantage. Trump accused China of unfair trade, theft of intellectual property and trade secrets, using our freedom of speech and publication to serve the CCP’s propaganda goal, etc. But no American could have ever imagined that the CCP is plotting to ensure four enemies against the U.S. at the same time, a debt crisis to trap us, and even to control our Congress. It is one thing for a nation to strive for greatness and become a power by respecting international rules and treating other nations decently, either as cooperators or competitors; it is another thing to do so by enmeshing with cooperators or competitors not only to take advantage of them but also to undermine them.”

This is a long piece, but you might find it worth your time.

BLAME AMERICA FIRST (LAST AND ALWAYS): U.S. Adversaries Weaponize Woke Politics.

China responded to international criticism about the Uighur genocide on Monday by pledging to submit a “report on human-rights violations in the United States” that will discuss the Black Lives Matter movement. Russia, meanwhile, convinced Amnesty International in late February to revoke the “prisoner of conscience” label from Russian dissident Alexei Navalny by disseminating his decade-old anti-immigrant comments.

American rivals—from China to Russia to Iran—are using terms out of the woke dictionary, such as “white supremacy” and “systemic racism,” to peddle propaganda in the United States. Mike Gonzalez, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, said the progressive rhetoric allows propagandists to deflect criticism about their authoritarian politics and sow discord in America.

“This is a two-fer for them: It can sow dissent and unrest here, and then it can let them say to their own people, ‘Look how unruly and violent democracy can be,'” Gonzalez told the Washington Free Beacon. “It makes the conduct of our foreign policy much harder, in places like Hong Kong or Xinjiang for example.”

21ST CENTURY HOUSING: Nation’s First 3D-Printed Homes for Sale Hit Austin Market. “ Logan Architecture designed the one-of-a-kind homes using ICON’s Vulcan construction system to deliver sustainable, resilient, and aesthetically pleasing housing. The first floor of these highly energy efficient homes were 3D printed using ICON’s advanced material that the company says is stronger and longer lasting than traditional building materials.”

GOOD LORD: Great Balls of Fire! Judges Gone Wild in the Missouri Judiciary Make Telenovelas Look Humdrum. “Judge Douglas Beach and Judge Erin Burlison have skeletons in their closets, too. For instance, Beach is a former judge on the St. Louis County Circuit Court and now works at JAMS, a mediation company that Zellweger orders petitioners in her courtroom to use at the exorbitant price of $1,200 down and $450 an hour. A whistleblower attorney in St. Louis contacted PJ Media confidentially to tell the public what is really happening in St. Louis courts. This attorney with ten years of experience told PJM, ‘If a litigant cannot pay the amount ordered, a judge has contempt power to strike all the litigant’s pleadings from a case.’ In other words, if you can’t pay for justice, you aren’t getting it. Is that what you thought justice was in America? Due process in Saint Louis County appears to be gasping for its last breath, if not dead.”

FANTASTIC VOYAGE: This start-up is building tiny injectable robots to attack tumors. “Backed by $20 million in venture capital funding and building off recent advances in robotics and precision manufacturing, the Culver City, Calif., company is developing a device the size of a breadcrumb that doctors can insert into the spine or skull and magnetically steer to a target to deliver a precise dose of drugs. The plan is to move to clinical trials by 2023.”

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: California Is Lost, Getting Rid of Newsom Won’t Save It. “I’ve been writing for years that conservatives should never get too excited about getting Democrats we don’t like out of office because there is almost always someone worse waiting in the wings as a replacement. It’s almost guaranteed that whomever would replace Newsom would be another Democrat, and that’s not a pretty sight in California.”

WHO’S IN CHARGE HERE ’21? White House curbs press, public access as Biden struggles with public demands of job.

A CNN report last month stated that the president regularly returns to his private residence at 7:00 p.m. each day and is “more of an early-to-bed type” than both Obama and Trump. Biden has thus far failed to host a single West Wing news conference, though the White House hosts daily news briefings.

The president became well-known over the course of his presidential campaign for having difficulties speaking publicly, so much so that the New York Times in 2019 ran a feature report on his struggles to give public addresses. A fifty-year veteran of Washington politics, Biden has logged hundreds and hundreds of hours of public speaking, where he has been known to make gaffes on occasion, such as his remark in 2007 that then-presidential candidate Barack Obama was “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.”

His latest struggles, meanwhile, often appear less gaffe-like and more fundamental, such as at a recent Pentagon appearance when he struggled with teleprompter-fed words such as “Tuskegee,” “because of,” “defeated” and “dishonor.”

But no mean tweets, so there’s that.
