KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: I’m Tired of President Idiot Boy Calling Me a Terrorist. “It’s not big secret that Joe Biden has the IQ of toe cheese. He was a blithering idiot even before this blank-eyed, empty-headed Biden incarnation we’re being subjected to came on the scene. America is now suffering under a lethal combination of Biden’s natural stupidity and the fact that his diminished capacity makes him so easily manipulated by the false narrative pimps. Some of the most awful people in the land can make the President of the United States lie about anything.”

Of course, Biden has always been so willing.

PRIVACY: Amazon US customers have one week to opt out of mass wireless sharing.

Amazon customers have one week to opt out of a plan that would turn every Echo speaker and Ring security camera in the US into a shared wireless network, as part of the company’s plan to fix connection problems for its smart home devices.

The proposal, called Amazon Sidewalk, involves the company’s devices being used as a springboard to build city-wide “mesh networks” that help simplify the process of setting up new devices, keep them online even if they’re out of range of home wifi, and extend the range of tracking devices such as those made by Tile.

But Sidewalk has come under fire for the apparent lack of transparency with which Amazon has rolled out the feature, as well as the limited time available for users to complete the tricky process required to opt out. Other critics have expressed concerns that failing to turn the setting off could leave customers in breach of their internet service provider’s terms and conditions.

The company’s plans have caused alarm among observers. Ashkan Soltani, a former chief technology officer of the US Federal Trade Commission, told the tech site Ars Technica: “In addition to capturing everyone’s shopping habits (from amazon.com) and their internet activity (as AWS is one of the most dominant web hosting services) … now they are also effectively becoming a global ISP with a flick of a switch, all without even having to lay a single foot of fiber.”

When a company makes it difficult for customers to protect their privacy, it’s because the company doesn’t respect its customers’ privacy.

#METOO: The US military is starting to get really interested in Starship. “The Department of the Air Force seeks to leverage the current multi-billion dollar commercial investment to develop the largest rockets ever, and with full reusability to develop and test the capability to leverage a commercial rocket to deliver AF cargo anywhere on the Earth in less than one hour, with a 100-ton capacity.”

CRISIS: Arizona Sheriff Describes How the Border Has Changed Under Biden. “When President Biden declared the southwest border a nonemergency, it stopped the physical barrier going up, it stopped all infrastructure completion, it stopped the subterraneal technology, it froze that construction on-site.”

A (POTENTIAL) DEPLOYMENT TEN YEARS IN THE MAKING: Is Iran Finally Going To Get A Pair Of Navy Ships To Venezuela? “The Iranian regime has been vowing to do this since 2011 but has yet to bring it off. Now Politico reports that U.S. officials are tracking an Iranian frigate in company with the newly commissioned ‘mobile base’ ship Makran (pennant 441) on the East coast of Africa, apparently moving south and possibly headed for a visit to Venezuela.”

THE ROAD TO HELL: Coloradans need not apply: Polis ‘equal pay’ regs mean ‘no pay’ for remote workers.

Gov. Polis signed labor reform into law under auspices of ensuring “equal pay,” but new reports show it’s having the reverse effect for many prospective remote workers.

And by “reverse effect,” we mean “no pay at all” as companies skip hiring Coloradans altogether.

The 2019 law requires employers starting this year to post good faith salary ranges when any new position opens up, including for remote workers in Colorado.

The idea was to give employees of all backgrounds more information about compensation to lower pay discrepancies.

In concept that sounds nice, until you realize Democrats actually put every prospective remote worker in Colorado at a competitive disadvantage.

Several employers including Nike, Johnson & Johnson, and Amazon competitor Digital Ocean are simply refusing to hire Coloradans for remote roles to get around the new requirement.

Thanks, Dems.

And is that a … Daishiki?”

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Newt Gingrich Is Trump’s Latest Brilliant Move to Troll Dems. “Much to the chagrin of the Romney/Cheney/Ryan surrender wing of the GOP, Trump remains a major player in Republican politics from Mar-a-Lago. He’s not going to go away, and most Republicans don’t want him to.”

A GOOD DEFENSE: French frigate downs supersonic missile in NATO exercise. “A missile traveling at about 5,000 miles per hour was destroyed recently by a French frigate during NATO exercises off the Scottish coast, the U.S. Navy 6th Fleet and French navy said.”
