THE BLACK SPIDERS OF MARS: okay, so they might be geysers or micro-organisms or something, but just for once I’m a sci fi geek, and I can dream.

SHAMELESS: Stephanopoulos embarrasses himself. (Who knew that was even possible?)
LOST IN TRANSLATION: So I called my parents this morning and found out Obama won the debate. According to the Portuguese media my parents have seen.
JUST FOR FUN: a letter from Barack. (Yes, we’re already being chided for dancing on the end zone. I plan to ignore it. For some reason what works against the left is humor. They can’t stand to be mocked. And it clearly rattles Obama. People who are rattled misstep.) Of course it’s becoming impossible to parody the left. I mean, according to Al Gore the air was too thin for Barack up here. Also, the sun was in the president’s eyes.
BYE BYE TO REDISTRIBUTED PIE: the night liberalism died.
CELEBRITY TWITS: no, I didn’t misspell that. I’ve never understood how such intellectually dim people can hate the system they live in so much, after reaping such disproportionate benefit from it.
THE MOST FUN YOU CAN HAVE AT A SCIENCE FICTION CONVENTION: particularly when it’s just one you read about. My friend Kate Paulk has ConSensual out, the second in her series of con books. This book kept me awake half the night on second read through. Lots of fun. And this is the first book, ConVent. And for those who’ve never attended, science fiction conventions are exactly like that, only with fewer demons… er… vampi… er… were… well, there’s definitely fewer murders at cons. Usually.
DID AL GORE ATTEND THE DEBATE? Denver due to drop fifty degrees overnight. (And this is why we have four cats. You’ve heard of a three dog night? This is a four cat night.)
AND THEY DIDN’T EVEN COUNT THE FEDERAL BUDGET: two black holes found lurking inside Milky way
THE FINGER, THE FINGER: What that Obama finger really means.

LOW BLOW TWEET OF THE NIGHT: and yet funny.
CURIOSER AND CURIOSER: More Poll Dancing. (In this as with announcements that unemployment is falling or that income is “skyrocketing” in the rustbelt… or with ignoring the Benghazi outrage, or with their several “summers of recovery” the media is gaslighting * us. Or, in more earthy terms — they’re er… urinating down our necks and telling us it’s raining.) *From Wikipedia:
The term “gaslighting” comes from the play Gas Light and its film adaptations, in which a husband secretly dims the gas lights in the house and, when his wife remarks on it, he claims that she is mistaken. This is done to convince the woman that she cannot trust her own judgment, and so will not be believed if she tries to report other strange things that are genuinely occurring, which the husband wishes to keep secret. The term is now also used in clinical and research literature
OF COURSE HE DID: Obama voted against Katrina Waiver
BARACK OBAMA’S HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY: Sometimes Obama benefits from the fact that even stuff against him comes out in a torrent when it comes, and therefore a lot of it gets buried. So here it is, all in one place! well… all for one day, that is.
GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE: when I was deep in the political closet, I used to read Neo-Neocon and be part of her blog community. Perhaps some of that time formed our minds alike. I agree with her points in this article. I disagree with her teensy-little hint that the country has changed that much since 1980. I think if it has it is to the right. It’s just that the media has moved further left and become more ruthless and shameless. But my gut still says Romney will win. Not because he’s a great campaigner, not because he’s the best we have — but because he’s not Obama and because the media has got so blatantly biased it’s hard to ignore.
A BLEG FROM CHARLIE MARTIN: over at the Tatler — in the comments, please link me examples of the Democrats saying that something actually happened during the Bush Administration or under Republican control of the Executive functions.
VODKA TAMPONS DON’T WORK AS ADVERTISED: Okay, so maybe butt chugging works (who knows?) but an experience in my very young teen years (no, it didn’t involve drinking. It was an hygiene-freak thing) always made me doubt the distaff side use of vodka soaked tampons. This woman’s experiment seems to prove my thoughts. (Warning — that link goes to an author who is so uncouth as to PREFER drinking gin. Words fail me.)
UPDATE: I don’t mean to imply Butt-chugging doesn’t work. My fans can stop sending me explanatory emails and “true experiences” now. I just say that vodka tampons don’t, unless the woman is a SERIOUS masochist.
SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS: The federal government instructing Lockheed Martin NOT to follow the law and NOT to warn employees of possible layoffs is a mini-coup. (via Ace of Spades.) The president is not our king. The president is not above the law. The president is not the country. (If I had Glenn’s photoshop of Obama as Louis XVI I’d post it here.)
UPDATE (from Glenn:): Ask, and ye shall receive.
HOW TO FIGHT A REARGUARD ACTION: Yes, the Main Stream Media has power. Most of their power is to tell us we’re being naughty children, unreasonable and uncouth and to shut up. I have a little more experience than most Americans in how to get around their controls. So I wrote about it, over at the tatler. Roger L. Simon is right, this is at the very least an attempted Media Coup D’Etat. But we don’t have to let them win.
ANOTHER REASON WE NEED A SUPERCOMPUTER ON THE MOON: Prof and Mannie can’t bring about the revolution on their own. (Helpfully reminding Glenn!)
WE’VE LOST TRACK OF SOME SYRIAN CHEMICAL WEAPONS: In the article Ed just linked, at the bottom is this link to Hot Air and Panetta saying we lost some chemical weapons. Oh, shucks. I guess they’ll turn up sometime or other.
POOLS OF WASTE AND CIVIL LIBERTY INTRUSIONS: at the DHS fusion centers. Between this and the video of Obama channeling Sharpton look for the media to be ultra-protective at the debate and condemn as racist any vague suggestion Romney might make that Obama might be less than competent. Take that in account as you watch.
MAYBE THE ADMINISTRATION DOESN’T WANT ANSWERS: Libyans say few questions being asked about the attack.
A GOOD SIGN: I’m tempted to make one. It’s a risk, in this college neighborhood, but maybe I can bring the feral cat inside for a couple of weeks. The cars are old, anyway.
