GLIMMER OF NEW HOPE FOR THE BLACK FAMILY: Focus on the Family’s Tim Goeglein writes in the Washington Times about what might be an encouraging indication that the Black family could be heading for the recovery room:

“Among Black high school seniors, the proportion living with their biological fathers has risen from a woeful 24% to 30%. While this is still tragic, there is a glimmer of hope this upward trend will bring about the eventual restoration of the Black family.

“If we are to truly solve the numerous issues that the Black community faces, the restoration of the family is the foundation upon which those solutions will be built – and that goes for families from all races as well.”

OLD COP’S LAST RIDE IS WITH HIS SON, THE NEW COP: Here’s a great story out of Mesquite, Texas, where retiring police officer takes the wheel on his last patrol with his son, a recent police academy graduate, in the passenger seat beside him.

THE ULTIMATE PRONOUN: No identity confusions here! The first of the seven “I Am” studies is up on HillFaith, for those with an interest.

POLL FINDS LITTLE BLACK, HISPANIC SUPPORT FOR BERRY PROTEST: Gwen Berry might want to reassess her desire to win an Olympic medal so she can protest the evil U.S. on the victory stand. A new Issues & Insights/TIPP survey found big majorities of Americans, regardless of their ethnic identity, oppose such virtue signaling. Those majorities include 61 percent of Blacks and 69 percent of Hispanics.

RUSSIA REVILING IN BIDEN’S ‘RED LINE:’ Writing for The American Spectator, Jed Babbin explains why he predicted and is now not surprised to see how right he was that His Fraudulency’s red line gets no respect from the Bear.

NOVEL IDEA – PAUL HAD PTSD – BUT NO: It’s Erik Manning vs Paulogia on the latter’s theory that on the road to Damascus, Paul did not have an encounter with the resurrected Jesus Christ, but rather he suffered something not unlike PTSD.

This really interesting but unsubstantiated idea is the occasion for the third of three HillFaith installments on “This is NOT how Christianity started.” Links to the first two installments are provided at the end for those who are interested in further exploring the topic.

THUMBS DOWN ON HOUSE BIG TECH REFORM: House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Ranking Minority Member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) worked together to produce a package of Big Tech reforms that are likely to get a fair amount of attention in coming weeks.

But Mike Davis of the Internet Accountability Project (IAP) says the package is little more than a big win for Silicon Valley:

“The Judiciary Committee frameworks create a private right of action for Americans to vindicate their rights when Big Tech infringes upon them. Under this framework, Americans will be given ‘the chance to sue the tech giants for a[n] infringement of their free speech rights.’

“The frameworks also seek to move all antitrust enforcement authority to the DOJ thereby cutting off half the government’s resources to go after Big Tech for antitrust violations. These proposals combined effectively shift the burden and cost of enforcement onto the individual citizen and are a huge win for Big Tech.”

And on the specific issue of censorship, Davis argues that:

“The Judiciary frameworks still leave incredible amounts of discretion to the Big Tech platforms. Under this rubric, the Big Tech companies can just state in their content moderation policy that specific speech is not allowed and then they will be completely justified in taking the content down. This does nothing to protect conservatives and make sure they have a place in the digital public square.”

Davis is a Hill staff veteran, with multiple years of serve as Chief Counsel  for Nominations to former Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley (R-Iowa).

WHO KILLED ASHLI BABBITT? And why is the name of her killer a state secret? Issues & Insights poses those two questions and notes some strange circumstances surrounding a recent congressional hearing about the tragedy.

THE WORST THING PELOSI IS DOING YOU’VE NEVER HEARD ABOUT: Pelosi used Covid as the excuse to establish a surveillance system giving her control over who can meet their representative in congressional offices. Read all about it in my latest PJ Media column. And don’t miss my suggestion on why it’s long past time for House GOPers to grow a pair and tell Pelosi “No!”

ANOTHER POLL FINDS PUBLIC DOUBTS JOE’S ALL THERE: Even a third of the Democrats responding to this one doubt His Fraudulency is in charge in the Oval Office.

FOURTH COVID VACCINE COMING: The “inventor” of the mRNA technology of the current Covid vaccines tells The Epoch Times’ Jan Jekielek that a new Covid vaccine is about to gain FDA approval and it doesn’t rely on the genetics technology of the current vaccines.

“There is a more traditional vaccine that’s about to, I think, gain emergency use authorization from Novavax. That’s also showed greater than 90% protection against disease and death. So that’s in line with what the genetic vaccines are showing.

And I think that that one offers options for those that are uncomfortable with the genetic vaccine strategy. And I know a lot of people that have been contacting me are interested in having an option, they’re uncomfortable with the genetic vaccines, and they’re interested in having an alternative that they can use. I think that Novavax could be a suitable alternative for them.”

Much more in this lengthy interview in which Malone explains, among much else, why he thinks the vaccine roll-out could have been done “more rigorously” and why it’s extremely significant that even the CDC is now beginning to acknowledge vaccine side effects that are not properly understood.

BIBLE IS RACIST. BECAUSE SCIENCE: The now-hilariously mis-named “Scientific American” claims those who deny evolution are white supremacists. No, I am not making that up. That’s what you get when you combine Critical Race Theory (CRT) with a crude caricature of the dominant explanation for human origins.

As The Federalist Kylee Zempel explains:

“If they can convince you not only that your Donald Trump-voting Christian neighbor is a racist but that the Bible itself is the epitome of white supremacy, they can ban it from polite society and ostracize anyone who would defend it. Critical race theory is good. Jesus is bad. Now cough up your hard-earned tax dollars so we can teach that to your kids.”

That’s it in a nutshell (no pun intended). Evolutionists of sound mind, common sense and a genuine commitment to real science should be flooding SA with protests.

ANOTHER ASYMMETRIC WARFARE ANGLE: Ever heard of the “Malaysian Troll Army”? Me neither, but  Washington Free Beacon’s Adam Kredo and Alana Goodman have the details today.

ETHICS AT HIS FRAUDULENCY’S EPA: Hey, Biden politically appointed EPA lawyer, you represented this party before coming to the agency? No problem.

ABOUT THE LEFT’S ANTI-SEMITISM: It keeps growing and growing, and Jeff Dunetz at The Lid has a pretty good idea why.

MAYBE US SHOULD JUST GIVE CALIFORNIA BACK: The productive people who make the Golden State the world’s fifth largest economy are already leaving in droves, and measures like this — a new Democrat proposal, as reported by Just the News, for spending $1.3 billion to enroll illegal immigrants who are 50 or older in Medicaid — will only accelerate the exodus.

COVID DEATH COUNTS INCLUDE THOSE FROM DELAYED SURGERIES? LifeSiteNews looks at a Canadian think tank’s analysis that finds more than 2,300 people died following delays in needed surgeries, delays occasioned by Covid-related restrictions in hospitals.

The actual total is likely much higher because data for four provinces and multiple medical associations/hospitals was not available for the analysis. LifeSiteNews also notes that one procedure was not delayed at all during the same period, abortions. Anybody aware of similar data for the U.S.?

FYI, FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED: HillFaith launches a new series of “HillFaith Studies” today with an eight-week look at Jesus’ “I am” statements about Himself. All are welcome, and at the end you can declare your answer to C.S. Lewis’s great trilemma: Lord, Liar or Lunatic.

TOUGH ROOM UPDATE: Never a dull moment! :-)

NO, PRIDE IN AMERICA IS FAR FROM DEAD: Contrary to pundits who say patriotism is a thing of the past, a new survey from Issues & Insights/TIPP finds that 68 of those surveyed profess to be either “very” or “extremely” proud to be Americans. Another 15 percent say they are “moderately” proud. With two-thirds of those surveyed, that’s a rather stout contingent of people who claim to be proud to be citizens of the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

And look at the opposite end of the spectrum: Eight percent say they are “slightly proud,” and a mere six percent say they “aren’t proud at all.” That 14 percent likely comprises Ivy League professors and wannabes on other campuses, left-wing non-profit radicals, Democratic Party activitsts, BLMers, Fortune 500 human resources department operatives and the cranks down the street in your neighborhood.

And here’s perhaps the most striking result of the first survey collaboration between I&I and TIPP:

“Even among blacks and Hispanics, who are repeatedly described as victims of embedded American racism and intolerance, pride is strong. The poll found that 55% of blacks and 57% of Hispanics say they are either extremely or very proud to be Americans. Just 7% of blacks and 9% of Hispanics say they aren’t proud at all of their nationality.”

There is one down note in the result: The only age group to show less than a significant majority of responders professing pride in being American is the 18-24-year-old contingent, where only 36 percent did so.

Interestingly, the percentage jumped to 59 with the next age group, the 25-44 contingent, suggesting that the old maxim about youthful liberalism being abandoned as one acquires additional responsibility and maturity remains operative.

BIDEN’S COSTLY WHITE HOUSE PAYROLL: Open the Books dug into the data and found His Fraudulency has a bigger, more expensive White House payroll than any previous chief executive.

WHY THE SPLIT IN THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION IS INEVITABLE: America’s largest Protestant denomination is in a woke crisis and odds are it will not survive. I explain why in my latest PJ Media column.

JIMMY LAI’S STORY AND WHAT’S AT STAKE IN HONG KONG: Christopher Bedford of The Federalist has a compelling read on the life of the Hong Kong billionaire/publisher jailed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). How many of us have the grace-bought fortitude to endure what this man — and millions of other Catholic and Protestant Christians in China — are enduring?

GOTTA BE RIGHT CAUZ IT QUOTES GLENN: Kerry Jackson of Issues & Insight fame has a super piece in the Orange County Register on the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision affirming the private property rights of farmers against union organizers. You know it’s a solid piece because a certain Tennessee law professor is quoted.

HOUSE GOPERS WANT NEW IRS PROBE: Three House Republicans, who will likely be in powerful positions after the November 2022 election, have asked the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) to investigate the recent IRS denial of a Christian civic group’s tax-exemption application.
