ANOTHER LOOK AT THE ASSAULT ON PARENTAL RIGHTS: Katy Faust of the Colson Center offers, among much else, an interesting three-part test of whether a particular claim to a right is valid.

LIKELY VOTERS GIVE HILL GOP BIG LEAD ON BORDER CRISIS: New survey for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) finds Hill GOP with a 10-point lead over Biden, Democrats on handling border crisis among likely voters in 85 battleground congressional districts.

NO, RED STATES AREN’T THE UNVACCINATED: Biden administration officials are insisting that most of the unvaccinated reside in Red States, with the implication that it’s Republicans keeping the nation from achieving higher total vaccinations. But Issues & Insights says most the biggest anti-vaxxers are on the Left.

“The states with low vaccination rates also tend to have larger minority populations. And blacks are the least likely racial or ethnic group to have been vaccinated, with Hispanics the second least likely, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

“Alabama and Mississippi, for example, are the states with the lowest vaccination rates in the country. They are also that states that have some of the highest share of blacks – 38 percent in Mississippi and 27 percent in Alabama. Louisiana (the fifth least vaccinated state), is 32 percent black, and in Georgia (sixth lowest vaccination rate) blacks make up 31 percent of the population.

“In fact, six of the 10 states with the lowest vaccination rates have larger-than-average black populations. At the other end of the spectrum, eight of the 10 states with the highest vaccination rates have larger-than-average white populations.”

AND THE CRT GASLIGHTING GOES ON: Hans Bader, writing at Liberty Unyielding, says Reuters is the latest Mainstream Media outlet to deliver a pot-full of propaganda on Critical Race Theory (CRT) while calling it “fact-checking.”

WHAT IF WE ALL LIVE IN COMPUTER SIMULATIONS: That’s actually a serious hypothesis, at least in some quarters occupied by folks like futurist Nick Bostrom and entrepreneur extraordinaire Elon Musk, according to John Stonestreet and Shane Morris of Breakpoint.org.

FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED: My look at the second  of Jesus’ seven great “I Am” statements is up on HillFaith today.

POLICE FOR ME, BUT NOT FOR THEE: Big-city Democratic mayors are slashing police budgets, but keep right on spending heavily on their own armed security details, according to Open the Books.

ANOTHER WAY OF LOOKING AT SUBURBIA: Not sure I agree with much of his analysis, but I have to credit David Larson, writing in The Federalist, with some interesting and arresting insights about the growing debate over the federal government’s aspiration to control local zoning.

WHY THE LEFT IS WINNING IN TWO SENTENCES: A guest post at The Lid by Dr. Joel Holmes captures the strategic and tactical essence of the present correlation of forces.

YOU’VE PROBABLY NEVER HEARD OF THE SILICON VALLEY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION: But you should know about it because it is one of the main tools of the Left in advancing its campaign to remake America in the socialist image. Hayden Ludwig of the Capital Research Center (CRC) has all the details.

REMEMBER THE MISERY INDEX? It’s back, according to Issues & Insights. Actually, it never left town. But it was so low under His Fraudulency’s predecessor that the “news” media wouldn’t touch it for fear of saying something remotely positive about Orange Man Bad.

The misery index hit its historical high of 21.9 under Jimmuh Cawta and it has gone up every month since January 20, 2021. I’m from out of town and all, but I’m thinking a new record high is in the offing for the misery index.

FBI NABS HUNTER BIDEN: Well, not “nabs” in the sense of an arrest, but a retired FBI analyst confirmed for Just the News that the signature on the Delaware computer repair shop receipt for Hunter Biden’s laptop is his, not a forgery. And that makes the laptop quite possibly “the thing, you know, the thing” that will eventually be the end of His Fraudulency’s crime family.

WE OBEY GOD RATHER THAN MEN: The liberty saga in Loudoun County, Virginia, continues. My latest PJMedia column.

MAYBE THE RUSSIANS GOT’EM: Seems 59 of the 96 government-owned cell phones issued to Mueller probe staffers, according to Just the News, have not been accounted for (i.e. returned to the government). For some strange reason, senators Charles Grassley of Iowa and Ron Johnson would like to know why those phones have not been returned.

Perhaps they read that famous maxim of Sen. Everett McKinley Dirksen, who once said “a billion cell phones here, a billion there, and pretty soon, you’re talking about the government.” Or words to that effect.

PROBING THE DEPTHS OF FBI CORRUPTION: Sundance at The Last Resort points to the most disturbing “highlights” of that damning FBI Inspector-General’s report on how the FBI mishandled the investigation of U.S. Olympic gymnastics physician Larry Nassar. Where is a real-life Efrem Zimbalist Jr. when we need him most?

ANOTHER WAY OF LOOKING AT YOUTH SPORTS: Not sure I agree with everything about Matt Feeney’s analysis here, but he’s certainly expressing concerns that many parents have these days about the state of things in “Little League” sports. If you have a child or grandchild involved in organized baseball, lacrosse, football or soccer, this is definitely worth reading and pondering.

OK, EXPLAIN THIS: This week’s HillFaith installment focuses on the dramatic changes in the lives of four men, Peter, James, the brother of Jesus, “Doubting Thomas,” and Paul the Apostle. Something happened to each of these guys that dramatically reversed the course of their lives. What’s your explanation?

TWO-THIRDS IN SURVEY SAY MAKE CHINA PAY: A new TIPP survey conducted for the Center for Security Policy finds majorities of Democrats and Republicans think China should be made to pay reparations for the Coronavirus pandemic.

Notes the center’s J. Michael Waller, a senior analyst:

“While southerners and Midwesterners are most likely to think that the Chinese government created the virus and is responsible for unleashing the pandemic, people in the more liberal Northeast are the toughest when it comes to making China pay reparations if an investigation reveals an accidental release from a government lab.

“These are astonishing numbers. They reveal a powerful narrowing of the gap since the pandemic began a year and a half ago. The American people are taking an increasingly hard line toward the Chinese regime.”

GOVERNMENTS GOING AFTER JOURNO TWEETS: Reuters reports that Twitter has received 26 percent more government requests to take down tweets by journalists in the last half of 2020. Bet you’re not surprised to hear that bureaucrats go to Twitter with such requests. India was the top requester, beating the U.S. for the first time in the Twitter compilation.

CONGRESSMAN AND THE CHINESE MASSEUSE: No, this is not yet another Rep. Eric Swalwell story. This one is about another Democrat, Rep. Ron Kind of Wisconsin, who, according to The Washington Free Beacon, leased property to a Chinese masseuse with a very spotty record.

GO WOKE, GO BROKE, ATLANTIC: Mark Hemingway of The Federalist says things are not looking good inside The Atlantic. Apparently, running a formerly prestigious magazine like a DNC news release operation is not such a smart formula.

DID YOU SEE BIDEN’S GAS CAN IN PHILLY? Former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli told reporters earlier today His Fraudulency (my phrase, not his) “poured gasoline” on the divisive national debate on election reform.

BIDEN WELCOME CENTER A ‘COMPLETE SH–HOLE:’ One might think the State of Delaware would make sure the roadside rest center named for its most famous citizen would be suitable for human use. Alas, not so much, according to The Washington Free Beacon.

STOP CORPORATE TYRANNY: If you are on a corporate board, or know someone who is, or you own corporate stocks, or know someone who does, then you need to know about this new effort and Sarah Lee has the details.

Some real powerhouse groups are being Stop Corporate Tyranny, including Alliance Defending Freedom, the Center for Economic Opportunity and Americans for Limited Government, among others.

YOU JUST THOUGHT HR1 WAS DEAD: It’s back but this time it’s HR4 and the Democrats are calling it the Voting Rights Act. Capital Research Center’s Hayden Ludwig warns in The American Conservative that “if anyone thinks the flood of mail-in ballots the country witnessed in 2020 was just a one-off fluke, they haven’t been paying attention.”
