“OBAMA IS NOT A FOREIGN BORN SOCIALIST GIVING AWAY FREE HEALTH CARE. That would be Jesus.”

ABOUT THAT “HOW WILL TINA BROWN” THING that Ed posted about earlier. (Sorry to be so belatedly getting the idea of talking back and forth with my co-bloggers here.) I followed that link to The New Republic with its various depictions of Obama embedded in gay culture, and that kind of Photoshopped trashy humor is nothing like the “attention-grabbing covers” TNR notes that Tina Brown has presided over at Newsweek. The only cover is the cover TNR seeks for its decision to publish such lame illustrations under its once-illustrious name.

THE WASHINGTON POST SALIVATES SQUISHILY OVER DINNER AT GEORGE’S: “Clooney listened intently to the president throughout, his hands folded as if in prayer and his chin resting on them.” Me, I’m praying for unbiased journalism, but I don’t have a famous chin to rest upon my folded hands.

MICHELE BACHMANN WOULD LIKE YOU TO KNOW SHE’S 100% COMMITTED to the United States of America. She’s a natural born citizen — as they say — and nothing about her opposite-sex marriage is ever going to change that, but just in case you might think that being a Swiss citizen impairs her thoroughly American Americanness, she’s renouncing it.

“THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF THE CLAIM THAT ELIZABETH WARREN IS 1/32 CHEROKEE. The documentary sources have been debunked, and the genealogist and genealogical society which originated the story and upon whom the Warren campaign relies are not talking.” This, on top of news that “[t]he University of Pennsylvania, where Warren worked from 1987 to 1994, listed her as a minority in a ‘Minority Equity Report.'” But on the bright side for Warren, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are doing a fundraiser for her. And as for her feelings: she says: “I feel like Scott Brown is raising ugly insinuations and I think he is doing it because he doesn’t want to talk about what is happening to Americas families.”

PBS FILMMAKER SERVES UP A LOPPED-OFF SCOTT WALKER VIDEO CLIP, just in time for the Tom Barrett campaign to use in the recall election. And yet Brad Lichtenstein — who has contributed to Barrett — says “I have no political agenda with the film and I’m not releasing the trailer to have a political impact in Wisconsin.” I would have thought that after the firings over the George Zimmerman 911 audio that journalists would be a little more circumspect about this sort of thing.

RASMUSSEN HAS ROMNEY UP 7 PERCENTAGE POINTS over Obama today. Could it be the same-sex marriage flip? Rasmussen only cites economic factors. “This is the first time Romney has reached the 50% level of support and is his largest lead ever over the president.”

BIDEN “PROBABLY GOT OUT A LITTLE BIT OVER HIS SKIS,” said Obama. Do you think maybe it was all planned, that Biden was sent out to make what would appear to be a gaffe to create the occasion for Obama to seem to need to come forward on this issue?

Was Biden’s gaffe really a gaffe?

ADDED: Sorry, I can’t make the poll display as a workable poll. If you want to actually vote, go here.

“VICTORIA BECKHAM WEARS A GREAT, REALLY FIRST CLASS [CUT] , and her friend Katie Holmes. They’re the two best cuts around now. There’s just too much long, hanging hair that hides the bone structure, and hides a beautiful neck and doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do.” Vidal Sassoon, seeing latter day reformulations of the truly genius cuts he did in the 1960s. What did he say to clients who hated that iconic five-point haircut of his?

“It’ll grow darling, come back as our guest.” Actually I [angered] my very best friend, Georgia Brown, who was a wonderful singer and actress, she originated the role of Nancy in Lionel Bart’s “Oliver.” I cut her hair for an opening night and she said, “You’ve ruined my career,” and left the salon screaming and crying. But I knew it looked good [laughs]. She called me back the following morning and said, “I’m sorry, Vidal, everybody loved it.”

Yes, everybody loved what was the most brilliant haircut idea… ever.

THE WISCONSIN RECALL PRIMARY “WAS A GIANT REPUDIATION OF BIG LABOR. It was a huge smackdown of the union bosses by a Wisconsin that is 86.5% non-union and tired of all the whining. Gov. Scott Walker was the real winner last night… With no reason for Republicans to vote, Gov. Scott Walker darn near got more votes than the four Democrats combined – 626,538 to 665,436.” And that was despite the big temptation to cross over.

ADDED: There were over 900,000 signatures (supposedly valid signatures) on the petition to recall Walker. Why didn’t those people bother to vote yesterday? Do they not really exist, have they changed their minds about wanting a recall, or did the sign the petitions because of real or perceived coercion?

SCOTT BROWN CALLS ON ELIZABETH WARREN “to authorize the release of her law school applications and all personnel files from the various universities where she has taught.”

“Serious questions have been raised about the legitimacy of Elizabeth Warren’s claims to Native American ancestry and whether it was appropriate for her to assume minority status as a college professor. Her changing stories, contradictions and refusal to answer legitimate questions have cast doubt on her credibility and called into question the diversity practices at Harvard.”

QUICK, CHECK OUT THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN HAWK-CAM. The mother/father just brought in a rabbit!

UPDATE: Rabbit dinner is over, and a human being on the ground just mooned the camera.
