ERIC S. RAYMOND: From Kafkatrap to Honeytrap. “The short version is: if you are any kind of open-source leader or senior figure who is male, do not be alone with any female, ever, at a technical conference. Try to avoid even being alone, ever, because there is a chance that a ‘women in tech’ advocacy group is going to try to collect your scalp.”

FEDS: SAYING YOU’RE ‘COLORBLIND’ IS RACIST.

A newly revealed federal diversity program greatly expands earlier critical race training by creating a whole new minefield of “microaggressions” that some could believe are stereotypes and racism.

In the training package used at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, for example, offering a black student a basketball should be considered offensive.

Not only are federal workers urged to consider what they say, but also how their comments are received. In one chart, a white male is shown saying he is “colorblind.” The black woman shown beside, however, takes as an insult that the white is denying her “racial/cultural being.”

So Kafkatrapping, in other words.

NEO-NEOCON ON THE LEFT AND THE DOUBLE BIND: setting a new standard for chutzpah.

The left’s attack on Kavanaugh involves the following, which I think sets a new standard for chutzpah: take a man with a sterling public record during his entire life, mount an attack on his integrity that involves an unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, impossible-to-defend-against charge of sexual attack (up to and including gang rape), and do it at the pinnacle of his career, unleashing a social media war against him of the most vicious kind, including death threats towards him and his family. Do that publicly while cloaking yourself in self-aggrandizing sanctity, and make him sit there and listen.

But that’s not the “chutzpah” part, although that does take some chutzpah. The real chutzpah part is this: if he acts at all angry in his response to being defamed in that way, say that his anger shows that he doesn’t have the temperament to be a justice, despite the fact that it is well-documented that he has shown an exemplary judicial temperament for his entire previous career as a judge.

They don’t call it “Kafkatrapping” for nothing.

THIS WAS THE SORT OF WARNING SIGN WE IGNORED BEFORE THE FORMER CAST OF DIFF’RENT STROKES BEGAN THEIR DESCENT INTO ARMED ROBBERY: Disaster Pants: Will Wheaton Attempts a Brief Defense of “BernieBros,” Then Collapses Into a Quivering Pile of Shame and Fear.

Knowing how much the phrase drives him mad, I was going to do a “Shut up, Wesley” sort of headline, and then realized that it’s much more Schadenfreude-licious to watch the former child actor keep getting kafkatrapped by his fellow leftists all day. The revolution devours its own — and sometimes stops for an afternoon snack along the way as well.

TWITTER PUNISHMENT OF BREITBART’S MILO YIANNOPOULOS SPARKS REVOLT:

Twitter’s notice to Yiannopoulos doesn’t specify the violation he is alleged to be guilty of, and while the gay conservative provocateur is, indeed, an outspoked presence on social media, it stands to reason that if he’d really done something to violate Twitter’s policies, he’d be suspended, not unverified. A person can’t say something that makes them less of who they are.

Franz Kafka never intended The Trial to be a how-to guide; if you’re unfamiliar with the portmanteau of “Kafkatrapping,” Eric Raymond’s 2010 post is an excellent introduction to a key facet of how the 21st century left operates.
