I AGREE WITH ERIC S. RAYMOND. IT’S STUPID BUT NOT SOCIALISM: Trump Administration’s Stake in Intel: Strategic Move or a Slippery Slope to Socialism?

Today in “Would you idiots please stop trying to make me into a Trump supporter?” The federal government just paid $8.9B to take a 10% stake in Intel . Various people are posturing about “socialism” and Trump “seizing the means of production”. There’s a lot for me to disagree with about this move. I’m a libertarian, I want government to keep its hands off of free markets because all it’s capable of is screwing them up.

And for the xless.

Look, it’s a bailout. And therefore hateful. But right now it might be our least bad option. Do I like it? No. Is it the end of the world? Also no. Staying tuned and watchful.
