THEY WANT US TO USE THE NATIVE SWAHILI NAMES:  BBC is lost for words over elephant.

Why are they obsessed with Swahili?  In the continent with most of Mankind’s languages, why are they obsessed with a synthetic trade language, as containing the wisdom of the ages?  An African friend once told me the worst insult in Swahili was “Cook’s assistant.” Probably not true, but hilarious anyway.
