SORRY FOR EXTENDED ABSENCE: Mother-in-law died, and we drove 3000 miles to funeral(round trip), give or take.  I might be miscounting miles. There were lots of them, though. Probably less irksome than flying these days, and we got lots of time to talk.  Also I drove more highway miles than I ever have before, and we’re still alive, so there’s good news.  Sorry I didn’t warn those of you in states we passed through to stay indoors, as there would be a crazy writer behind the wheel….
