Our homegrown authoritarians have loved the Chicoms for a long time, and wished they could do the same here. Note that not only were things not okay in China, we’ve strong indications they’re still NOT okay.  Meanwhile those of an authoritarian bend are instigating panic and then using it to put their boot on your neck.
