Well, cut her some slack: “I think it saved my life, how can I regret it? If journalists had not come at that time and that story had not come to the newspapers, maybe I would [be dead by] now.” But don’t cut the credulous Western “journalists” and pundits who treated her story as gospel when it was pretty obviously exactly what it was.
