Senator examines claim that 2 guns from ATF-sanctioned sales were used in border shootout. “Members of the Judiciary Committee have received numerous allegations that the ATF sanctioned the sale of hundreds of assault weapons to suspected straw buyers, who then allegedly transported these weapons throughout the Southwest border area and into Mexico.” Kinda puts a new complexion on those claims about U.S. weapons winding up in the hands of Mexican drug gangs, doesn’t it. . . .
