STEVE HAYWARD ON THE LATEST LATE HIT ON KAVANAUGH: I Told You So.

This latest story in just another attempt to keep the intimidation fires alive. Fine: I say let’s call the bluff and request that Deborah Ramirez, the source of the new allegation, present herself for sworn testimony before the committee.

OPEN THREAD: Was there any news to talk about today?

THE FUTURE OF FISH FARMING may be indoors.

DRUDGE SIREN: New Yorker set to publish new Ronan Farrow story on Kavanaugh and another woman that involves a sex toy.

UPDATE: “New accuser comes forward. This one is about Kavanaugh during his freshman year in college in the early 80s and the accuser spent 6 whole days trying to remember if it was even him or not,” Caleb Hull‏ tweets, with a link to the new article.

ANOTHER UPDATE (FROM GLENN): Some skepticism in the reaction to this late-late hit.

NEW MOVIE CLAIMS GOOGLE HANDED THE POPULAR VOTE TO HILLARY CLINTON IN 2016:

“This is not a problem for conservatives. This is a problem for humanity,” the psychologist told PJ Media. “Who gave a handful of executives in Silicon Valley the right to decide what billions of people around the world can see and cannot see? Who gave them that power?”

As Glenn has asked, “Why should a small group of people enjoy such unaccountable power? Time for some trustbusting?”

QUESTION ASKED AND ANSWERED: “I am obsessed with advice columns and I cannot tell you why. This is not very respectable, is it? But why are they so compelling?”

OLD AND BUSTED AT THE GRAY LADY: The Soviet Union was the place for swinging rock-star style sex.

The New Hotness? NY Times Wants to Know About Your High School Sex Life:

The Times also wants to know: “Have standards of what constitutes unacceptable behavior changed since then? Have you?” The Times wants your name and email address, and says “A Times editor may contact you with follow-up questions.” So the paper intends to keep this subject going for a while.

This is a good example of how Narratives get advanced. Christine Ford’s allegation is almost certainly false, but who cares? The Narrative marches on, regardless.

Man, the Times morphed into the Central Scrutinizer so slowly, I hardly even noticed.

VACCINES: How Long Long Will I Retain Immunity? “Antibody half-life varies tremendously, from about 11 years for tetanus to over 200 years for measles and mumps.” 200 years?

SHELBY STEELE EXPLAINS WHY THE LEFT IS CONSUMED WITH HATE:

Today’s left lacks worthy menaces to fight. It is driven to find a replacement for racism, some sweeping historical wrongdoing that morally empowers those who oppose it. (Climate change?) Failing this, only hatred is left.

Hatred is a transformative power. It can make the innocuous into the menacing. So it has become a weapon of choice. The left has used hate to transform President Trump into a symbol of the new racism, not a flawed president but a systemic evil. And he must be opposed as one opposes racism, with a scorched-earth absolutism.

REMINDER: Most of Europe Is a Lot Poorer than Most of the United States. “Most European countries (including Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Belgium) if they joined the US, would rank among the poorest one-third of US states on a per-capita GDP basis, and the UK, France, Japan and New Zealand would all rank among America’s very poorest states, below No. 47 West Virginia, and not too far above No. 50 Mississippi. Countries like Italy, S. Korea, Spain, Portugal and Greece would each rank below Mississippi as the poorest states in the country.”

IT’S COME TO THIS: Democrats poised to grill Brett Kavanaugh on drinking, partying in high school.

Democrats are poised to ask questions about the drinking culture of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s high school when the judge faces the Senate Judiciary Committee following a sexual misconduct allegation.

“We want to hear — I would be wanting to hear what kind of environment it was in high school,” Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, said Sunday during an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“Apparently, there was a lot of drinking and partying going on,” she continued. “This is why we need an investigation. We need an independent investigation that lays all of that out for us, so there’s at least some chance of some outside entity, like the FBI, doing an investigation.”

When does Hirono blow the lid off the exploits of the Hawaiian Choom Gang?
