SEEN ON FACEBOOK: “A new study reports 100% of Americans like taking polls, answer the phone from unknown callers, and are home right now.”

Plus: “In addition, many (but not all) pollsters refuse to own up to the particular bias in the joke, because they can’t. It’s their whole standard procedure to call and talk to voters. Some feel that is the gold standard, that any web poll (even if well selected) is inferior. But the hard reality is you can only get 10% of people to talk to you on the phone. It’s super-duper hard to avoid selection biases under that but they can’t admit it because they would have to just stop polling the way they have always done.”

The friend saying this, by the way, is a lefty Democrat, but one with an interest in empirical rigor.
