RULE OF LAW: Federal Court Rules Pennsylvania’s Lockdown Order Unconstitutional. “Population-wide lockdown orders are ‘such a dramatic inversion of the concept of liberty in a free society as to be nearly presumptively unconstitutional’ wrote U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV.”

Related: Wisconsin Supreme Court Overrules County’s Order, Allows Private Schools to Open. The court: “A reading that gives carte blanche authority to a local health officer to issue any dictate she wants, without limit, would call into question its compatibility with our constitutional structure.”

Plus: “Overriding the choices of parents and schools, who also undoubtedly care about the health and safety of their teachers and families, intrudes upon the freedoms ordinarily retained by the people under our constitutional design.”
