I TURNED MY GRADES IN BEFORE CHRISTMAS: Why Does It Take So Damn Long To Grade Law School Finals? But thanks to reduced class sizes, I don’t have as many exams to grade as I used to. When I taught Con Law (then about 75 students) and Torts I (then about 55 students) in the Fall, that left me with 400+ handwritten bluebooks to grade. This fall I had 40-something exams, plus some seminar papers, to grade, and of course now everything is neatly typeset, not scrawled. But even in the old days I got them graded by January 2nd, because that was our deadline.
