JOURNALISM: Harper’s issues its first retraction ever: A piece by disgraced ‘fabulist’ Stephen Glass from 1998.
Question: Is this the only thing Harper’s has ever published that’s worthy of a retraction? Because that would be pretty impressive in a magazine that old. And why retract this now, after so long? Because Glass requested it: “He didn’t respond to my call to his office at a Beverly Hills law firm, where he serves as a non-lawyer staff member, but it’s reasonable to conclude that it’s related to his quest for a California law license.”
