HMM: ‘Millions Of Homes Will Stay Unbuilt’: What Builders See That Policymakers Don’t.

Recent data from the Census Bureau reveals housing starts fell 3.1% below September’s revised estimate, landing at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,311,000 units. Building permits declined 0.6% from September, marking a 7.7% drop from October 2023.

The numbers create friction with recent comments from Federal Reserve officials, including Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari, who, according to HousingWire, suggested housing demand remains robust enough to warrant higher mortgage rates.

The data tells a different story, with existing home sales hitting their third consecutive year of record lows when adjusted for workforce size.

Builder behavior offers telling insights into market conditions. HousingWire said construction companies have shown increased optimism when mortgage rates approach 6%, but consistently pull back when rates climb between 6.75% and 7.5%. The pattern extends beyond single-family homes, with multiunit permits already at recession levels.

It’s difficult to see sustained mortgage rate reduction so long as Congress is spending $2 trillion in funny money every year for the foreseeable future.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Trump Continues to Assemble Avengers to Battle the Swamp Ick. “It’s safe to say that any Anthony Fauci lackeys still at NIH — there are probably quite a few — are nervously updating their résumés on LinkedIn today. Dr. Bhattacharaya was the target of a campaign intended to discredit and quiet him for telling the truth about the almost science-free garbage being spewed by Fauci and his tyrannical ilk at NIH.”

A FRIEND SENDS THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS: 1. Nobody’s 7-year-old said this. 2. Kamala looks less like a good influence and more like she’s under the influence.

My thought is, who could watch this and believe that anyone ever thought she was a good candidate to run against Trump?

WINNING: Walmart becomes biggest company to roll back DEI policies under conservative pressure to ‘end wokeness in corporate America.’

The changes, confirmed by Walmart on Monday, are sweeping and include everything from not renewing a five-year commitment for an equity racial center set up in 2020 after the police killing of George Floyd, to pulling out of a prominent gay rights index. And when it comes to race or gender, Walmart won’t be giving priority treatment to suppliers.

Walmart’s moves underscore the increasing pressure faced by corporate America as it continues to navigate the fallout from the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in June 2023 ending affirmative action in college admissions. Emboldened by that decision, conservative groups have filed lawsuits making similar arguments about corporations, targeting workplace initiatives such as diversity programs and hiring practices that prioritize historically marginalized groups.

Separately, conservative political commentator and activist Robby Starbuck has been going after corporate DEI policies, calling out individual companies on the social media platform X. Several of those companies have subsequently announced that they are pulling back their initiatives, including Ford, Harley-Davidson, Lowe’s and Tractor Supply.

But Walmart, which employs 1.6 million workers in the U.S., is the largest one to do so.

“This is the biggest win yet for our movement to end wokeness in corporate America,” Starbuck wrote on X, adding that he had been in conversation with Walmart.

It gets better:

This is no time to go wobbly.

I’M DELIGHTED THAT THEY DID NOT MANAGE TO SCREW THIS UP:

CHANGE: Biden exits at all-time low, Trump in with highest approval.

A new Emerson College survey released Tuesday morning shows just a third of America, 36%, approve of the Democrat while 52% disapprove. The poll analysis called Biden’s rating “a four-year low for the president in Emerson polls.”

President-elect Donald Trump, meanwhile, is returning to the White House with one of his highest approval ratings ever, 54%. That is 6 points higher than his preelection approval, showing strongly that America likes what they’ve seen out of Mar-a-Lago so far.

And it’s not just MAGA. Approval of Trump is spread across a wide spectrum of the country, just like his election support.

“Trump’s favorability varies significantly by gender, race, and age,” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling. “Trump’s strongest age cohort is among voters 40-59, with 60% viewing him favorably, compared to 48% among those over 70. Notably, his favorability has risen among younger voters, with 55% of those under 30 expressing a favorable opinion.”

He also said that 48% of women, 53% of Hispanic voters, and 28% of black voters approve of Trump.

The Biden cabal, aided by the Complicit Media and a weaponized justice system, did everything it could to discredit (or even jail) Trump and boost Biden.

Instead, Biden was booted in an intraparty coup, trust in the media has never been lower, and Trump’s approval has never been higher.

Heckuva job, fellas.

LIFE IN THE 21ST CENTURY:

THE RAGE OF THE ENTITLED OVERCLASS: “The collective mental breakdown among self-styled progressives since Donald Trump’s re-election has been quite the sight to behold. The subsequent declaration by many that they will leave X, in protest of that platform’s supposed descent into fascism, has made matters all the more entertaining. What a glorious outpouring of self-importance and self-righteousness, combined with an utter lack of self-awareness.”

INTERESTING:  A unified theory of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Despite the genuflection towards the gods of TDS, like claiming it wasn’t “a landslide” because yeah, sure, there was no fraud from the left at all. And Donald Trump is not “interesting” and and…
One of the major factors of TDS I’ve found is the fear of being seen with such a declasse candidate, and it hits those who are more educated than intelligent. But the article is interesting nonetheless, for the historical comparisons, though given the various technological factors, we might be past historical comparisons really applying.
