MICHAEL WALSH: The System is the Steal. “If the franchise is really ‘sacred,’ let’s start acting like it.”

WELL, YES:

IT’S A JOKE, AND UNDERMINES ANY TALK OF “DEMOCRACY” HERE OR ABROAD: America’s Fourth World Vote System Is a Global Embarrassment.

The whole world is laughing.

“US election results: When will we know who won?” the BBC wondered.

AZCentral.com columnist Jon Gabriel wrote: “Friends in Hungary and Brazil asked how their entire nations can count votes in a few hours, while it takes Arizona a week or longer.”

As of early Friday afternoon, America’s voting system has devolved from a global beacon of democracy to an international punchline. A bright neon sign warns: “Don’t try this at home.”

Mechanical breakdowns, baffling “ballot dumps,” and inexplicable pauses in tabulation have buried the Arizona and Nevada senatorial and gubernatorial results in sand.

Alaska has soiled itself with a new, needless, and odious rank-choice-voting process. Rather than Tuesday’s top vote-getter winning the Senate seat, Republicans Lisa Murkowski, Kelly Tshibaka, Buzz Kelley, and Democrat Patricia Chesboro are mired in a glacial redistribution of each losing candidate’s votes to those ranked higher. This ballot buffoonery could continue for weeks.

In the U.S. House, 32 seats remain uncalled. Republicans have yet to secure their expected slim majority, thanks to dilatory vote counts and mail-in ballots that land more slowly than falling autumn leaves.

Who will be the next mayor of Los Angeles? At this writing, 64 hours after polls closed, nobody knows. Some 900,000 ballots await tabulation! In 10 California congressional contests, fewer than half of the ballots have been counted, per Politico. In the Sixth District, only 35 percent of ballots have been tabulated!

What America needs is a major cleanup of our self-humiliating voting system.

Indeed.

AT LEAST $1 BILLION OF CLIENT FUNDS MISSING AT FAILED CRYPTO FIRM FTX:

Customer withdrawals had surged last Sunday after Changpeng Zhao, CEO of giant crypto exchange Binance, said Binance would sell its entire stake in FTX’s digital token, worth at least $580 million, “due to recent revelations.” Four days before, news outlet CoinDesk reported that much of Alameda’s $14.6 billion in assets were held in the token.

That Sunday, [Sam] Bankman-Fried held a meeting with several executives in the Bahamas capital Nassau to calculate how much outside funding he needed to cover FTX’s shortfall, the two people with knowledge of FTX’s finances said.

Bankman-Fried confirmed to Reuters that the meeting took place.

Bankman-Fried showed several spreadsheets to the heads of the company’s regulatory and legal teams that revealed FTX had moved around $10 billion in client funds from FTX to Alameda, the two people said. The spreadsheets displayed how much money FTX loaned to Alameda and what it was used for, they said.

The documents showed that between $1 billion and $2 billion of these funds were not accounted for among Alameda’s assets, the sources said. The spreadsheets did not indicate where this money was moved, and the sources said they don’t know what became of it.

And as a result: FTX Customers Face a Long Road to Try to Get Their Money Back. The exchange paused customer withdrawals at its international unit this week; ‘If you can’t trust exchanges, the whole premise of cryptocurrency doesn’t work:’

Gianluca Giuffra, a 25-year-old investor from Lima, Peru, used FTX to trade digital assets and picked the exchange because he thought it was a safe bet.

“Sam looks like a very honest person,” he said, “He doesn’t look like the type of guy that would do crazy stuff behind users’ backs.”

Errr:

“‘Earning to give’ is thinking about which causes, which charities save the most lives per dollar:” Collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX had ties to Ukrainian government, WEF, and top Biden adviser.

UPDATE: FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Lists Bahamas Penthouse For $40 Million.

THE RISE OF THE NEW GNOSTICS. “From neopaganism to cryptocurrency cults, the Internet today is full of strange quasi-faiths.”

SURE, THIS WENT INTO IT, AS DID MISS LINDSEY GRAHAM’S BS, BUT:  Why No Red Wave? Or A Labor of Love.

But in the end it’s the fraud. Look, guys, if you believe the guys who support and fight like rabid weasels to keep: vote harvesting, vote by mail, same day registration, no id, not-secure machine voting, etc. etc. aren’t commuting fraud I commend you for your sparkling shiny souls and beg you — with tears in my eyes — please grow up. You’re going to get us all killed.

Still hesitant. Sure. Repeat after me: “President Biden is so great he got the most votes in American history, and lost the fewest seats in a first midterm. Obama was holding him back all these years.”

If you can repeat that without laughing or seeing the absurdity of it, you’re either insane or you’ve been on a bender since election day and need to dry out now. Because I refuse to change my name to Cassandra, and I’m getting tired of this shouting in the desert thing. I don’t like grasshoppers in honey.
