KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Biden and His Idiot Supporters Are Trying to Cancel Georgia. “The kicker here is that Atlanta is the Democratic stronghold in Georgia. The cancel animals are so rabid that they don’t care that they are advocating for the economic punishment of their political comrades. The woke scolds continue to redefine absurdity.”

The new unity looks an awful lot like the old enforced conformity.

JOANNE JACOBS: Free to choose — and learn. “The more a state provides parents with the freedom to choose their child’s school the better the state’s students score on the National Assessment of Education Outcomes (NAEP).”

NO VACCINE IS PERFECT: Over 100 Fully Vaccinated People in Washington State Test Positive for COVID-19. “Eight of the patients required hospitalization and two, both over 80 years old with underlying health issues, died. All contracted the virus more than two weeks after being fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated refers to people receiving both doses of the vaccines produced by Moderna or Pfizer/BioNTech. A third option, from Johnson & Johnson, is a single dose.”

THERE’S A REASON NOBODY TALKS ‘SWOON THEORY’ ANYMORE: HillFaith reminds this morning that there was a time at the turn of the century when critics claimed Jesus survived crucifixion, escaped from the tomb and secretly headed off to live out his life in obscurity in India or Japan or, maybe, Burbank.

Today being Easter Friday, crucifixion day, it’s useful to review the lethal effects of the Romans’ routine execution method — including the scourging  before being nailed to a cross — as a measure of the remote likelihood of anybody surviving so lethal an ordeal. Which leaves us all with the question: How is the empty tomb best explained, by the Gospels or by naturalistic explanations like swooning?

BIDEN TEAM MANIPULATES VACCINE DATA: Issues & Insights applied their rigorous analytical skills to the Biden administration’s latest claims regarding the progress of vaccinations among Americans. The result is not a pretty picture but it is a revealing one:

“On the front page of WhiteHouse.gov is a bar chart showing how many shots have been delivered relative to Biden’s new goal of 200 million shots by April 29. (See chart below.)

“There’s a curious feature about this chart, however. Based on the scale, there were zero shots administered on Day 1 of the Biden administration. The chart is divided up into equal 50 million shot increments. So, it appears that on Biden’s ‘Day 1’ there’d been none, when in fact there had already been more than 21 million shots administered.”

And pointing to a recent Politico report, Issues & Insights notes that Biden has abandoned his much-ballyhooed plan to speed up vaccinations by creating a flood of government-backed sites for administering the shots:

“Biden is abandoning his hugely expensive government-run vaccination program and relying on a private-sector arrangement established by Trump to get vaccines out quickly. Yet the White House has the gall to imply that no vaccines had been administered when Biden took office?”

That’s what I like about these I&I guys, they are so diplomatic in their questions!

COVID IS THE LEFT’S INVENTED ‘PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER ONE:’ The Wall Street Journal’s James Freeman, in a column I admittedly missed earlier this week, applied this fact to Monday’s White House “press briefing” with the Biden Covid team.

“On Monday government disease experts Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Rochelle Walensky reasonably and responsibly urged Americans to get vaccinated and to take care in avoiding infection.

“But they also went beyond reasonable admonitions, fearfully encouraging continued restrictions by state governments without even addressing the pros and cons, as if lockdowns have been proven to work and have no negative impact on public health …

“Dr. Walensky set the tone early in the discussion by saying, ‘I’m going to reflect on the recurring feeling I have of impending doom.’ Dr. Fauci made his case for ‘why we cannot pull back on our mitigation efforts.’”

One might ask how much power over the public would Fauci, Walensky and the rest of the Covid response team have if the virus were to suddenly disappear entirely from among the American public?

POLES GIVE THE BACK OF THEIR HAND TO BLM: POLAND’S NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM SAYS NO TO THE KNEE.

I mean, why should the Poles care about what American “activists” think?

For that matter, why should Americans care?

EASTER WEEKEND IS COMING UP: Buy some books or an Easter Pendant, at Helen’s Page.

OPEN THREAD: It’s almost Friday. And as we say here at InstaPundit: Thank God it’s Friday, only two more working days until Monday!

DOING THE RIGHT THING: Ga. lawmakers vote to pay soldiers wrongfully convicted of murder.

The state Senate last week approved a trio of bills to pay Mark Jones, Kenny Gardiner and Dominic Lucci $1 million each, which is one-third of what they would’ve earned if they’d retired from the service, as they’d intended.

The money, paid out in monthly installments over 20 years, will help with the struggles the three men face after so much time lost — and endured — in prison before the Georgia Supreme Court unanimously tossed out their convictions in late 2017. The men, who were barely 20 when they were sent away, work constantly, often doing grueling labor.

A million bucks seems cheap, considering. Backstory:

In 1992, the soldiers, stationed at Fort Stewart, were caught up in a murder case while visiting Savannah for a bachelor party.

Jones was to marry the next morning. The friends became lost on the way to a strip club. Around the same time, a Black man named Stanley Jackson, 35, was gunned down in the street by multiple shooters described by a witness as possibly white men in a dark car. The soldiers, white men in a dark car, happened to ask a police officer for directions as she walked the witness into the police station.

Soon the witness would falsely identify them as the killers. The witness, a Black minister, would later say police, prosecutors and even fellow clergy encouraged him to identify the soldiers as the killers because of fears of a riot if no one was convicted. Black residents in Savannah at the time were outraged by the Police Department’s failure to solve crimes against Black people. They alleged that detectives seemed to have a far easier time when the victims were white.

Just Jim Crow justice with the races reversed. And this was almost 30 years ago. Maybe try to enforce the law without giving in to threats of mob violence?

RICHARD FERNANDEZ: They don’t seem to be afraid. “Outside the NYT and Wapo bubble, which sees Biden as a sign that ‘America’s back,’ hostile powers seem to demonstrate by their actions that they don’t anticipate much resistance.”

WSJ: Biden Builds Government Back Bigger.

Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders lost the Democratic presidential nomination, but you wouldn’t know from President Biden’s first two months in office. First came $1.9 trillion in social spending under the cover of Covid-19, and now comes $2.3 trillion more for climate and political spending dressed as “infrastructure.”

Most Americans think of infrastructure as roads, highways, bridges and other traditional public works. That’s why it polls well, and every President has supported more of it.

Yet this accounts for a mere $115 billion of Mr. Biden’s proposal. There’s another $25 billion for airports and $17 billion for ports and waterways that also fill a public purpose. The rest of the $620 billion earmarked for “transportation” are subsidies for green energy and payouts to unions for the jobs his climate regulation will kill. This is really a plan to build government back bigger than it has ever been.

Democrats are in a rush to get the cash out to their patrons while it’s still worth something.
