Kendi, feted across the establishment, favors amending the Constitution to appoint an unelected and unaccountable committee of “experts” that has the power to coerce and punish any individual or group anywhere in the country deemed practicing racism. Intent does not matter. And the decisions are final. An advocate for unaccountable, totalitarian control of our society is the darling of every single elite institution in America, and is routinely given platforms where no tough questioning of him is allowed. He is as dumb as Obama is smart; as crude as Obama is nuanced; as authoritarian as Obama is liberal.

HMM: Will media bias hurt the Democrats in 2022?
The stunning double standard in coverage depending on political affiliation is irresponsible, arrogant, and short-sighted. The American people used to rely on real journalists to follow the facts without regard for who holds the levers of power at any given moment. Sadly, in the age of Trump Derangement Syndrome, that’s no longer the case.
While it’s important — and justified — to call out bias in the media and the dangerous politicization of the once-heralded Fourth Estate, it also begs the question: Will doubling down on their shameful behavior now that Mr. Biden’s in the White House ultimately backfire on the liberals and their allies in the media come election time?
As leaders on the left make a sport out of attacking America on our Independence Day, defend the indefensible Critical Race Theory, promote the disgraceful defund the police movement, and compare popular voter ID laws to the Jim Crow era, the biased media enables them. But in the end, this strategy won’t be good for Democrats. In fact, it’s more likely to cause a great pro-America awakening.
Don’t get cocky, but yeah, our national media now enjoy Soviet-era Pravda and Isvestia levels of public trust.

No bad idea ever dies. That is the mournful lesson we are being taught daily by the partisans of so-called “critical race theory,” the disciples of “equity,” and the shock troops of Antifa and Black Lives Matter. There are some local differences, of course—differences of fashion and vocabulary, mostly—but to a large extent the present radicalisms are a reprise of the radicalisms of the 1960s, which in turn were recapitulations of the radicalisms of the French Revolution filtered through the argot of Marxism.
Perhaps the biggest difference between our situation now, circa 2021, and the long decade of the 1960s is the extent to which, this time around, corporate culture and the entrenched bureaucrats who run the institutions of our federal, state, and local governments are there on the barricades helping to destroy the very civilization whose survival they had been entrusted to preserve.
It’s a curiously top-down “revolution” being attempted today. The vast majority of Americans — of all races — oppose woke politics. The people pushing it are the ones controlling the very system being accused of “systemic racism.”

From the Malecón, Havana’s famous seawall near the old city, to small towns in Artemisa province and Palma Soriano, the second-largest city in Santiago de Cuba province, videos live-streamed on Facebook showed thousands of people walking and riding bikes and motorcycles along streets while chanting “Freedom!” “Down with Communism!” and “Patria y Vida” — Homeland and Life — which has become a battle cry among activists after a viral music video turned the revolutionary slogan “Homeland or Death” on its head.

TAMING THE SERPENT … AND THE BUBONIC PLAGUE … AND TUBERCULOSIS: On this day in 1863, Albert Calmette—one of the history’s most prolific medical researchers—was born in Nice, France.
In 1891, Calmette established a branch of the Pasteur Institute in (then) French Indochina. There he studied cobra venom and other poisons. Back in France, he developed the first successful snake antivenom using serum derived from the blood of immunized horses.
Still a young man, Calmette went on to work with the Swiss-French physician Alexandre Yersin in developing a vaccine for the bubonic plague. He traveled to Portugal to help study and fight an outbreak there in 1899.
His greatest contribution to medical science was his work on tuberculosis. The vaccine he helped develop—the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin or BCG vaccine—is not perfect (nothing ever is). But it is still used in many countries where tuberculosis is a serious threat and has saved many lives. Weirdly, there is evidence that it helps prevent COVID 19 too.
I’m told that few things in the former French Indochina—now Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos—have retained French names. But there is still a Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh and a Calmette Street in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City. Pasteur and Yersin have streets there too. Long may it be so.
