Todd seems to lose it whenever he he has Johnson on, curiously enough: This 2019 Real Clear Politics article by Mark Hemingway, “Chuck Todd and the Demise of True Journalism,” is built around Todd’s interview with Johnson and subsequent insults.
Just think of Todd as a former — and current — Democratic Party operative, who gets quite cross when called on his leftwing bias, and it all makes sense.

Those were just the reasons at the time, in 2018. As time went on, Trump continued and expanded on all those Russia-limiting moves. Plus, he not only kept in place earlier sanctions against Russia, he added new ones. Trump was right, and the media consensus was wrong.
Now, the question is whether, with Trump leaving office, journalists can take a look in the mirror and see what they got wrong — and why they got it wrong. The Russia hysteria did not have to happen. The evidence was always there for any journalist to see. It was always possible to adopt a sober, critical, reasoned stance toward the Russian allegations, rather than engage in the hysteria that Trump’s opposition hoped would ultimately result in his removal from office. Still, even now, it’s not too late to take a look back. With the Trump presidency coming to an end, perhaps some of the Russia hysterics will give it a try.
The DNC-MSM executed a perfect 180 worthy of Tony Hawk (and Oceania) when they went from mindlessly praising Obama’s “the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back” crack to Mitt Romney in 2012 to declaring Russia Enemy Number One four years later. Why would they begin to genuflect now?

From the reaction to this guy, you’d think he put that can of beans in a sock and beat his daughter to death with it. He was just being an odd, stubborn jerk. So what? Lots of dads are odd, stubborn jerks.
And if nothing else, this little girl learned two valuable lessons: 1) How to use a can opener, and 2) Who not to ask for help.
Which isn’t to say Roderick is blameless for the situation he finds himself in. Why would anybody brag about such a thing? Why write a long, weirdly florid Twitter thread about how much smarter you are than your little kid who just wanted a snack? Why would you think that’s something the world needed? How does it benefit you or anybody else?
It’s like a nude selfie: If you don’t want people to see it, put down the phone. Once you’ve documented something, you don’t know what anybody else is going to do with it.
And actually putting it on Twitter? Forget about it. You’re leaving your future in the hands of a bunch of aimlessly frustrated lunatics who’ve been stuck inside for almost a year and will destroy your life just for sport. There are so many things in your life you can’t control, but you can control that.
