SIXTH TEXAS DEM TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID AFTER FLEEING STATE TO BLOCK GOP VOTING BILL.

UPDATE: White House official, Pelosi aide test positive for COVID. “The Pelosi staffer helped usher a delegation of Democratic Texas lawmakers around the Capitol last week. Six of those lawmakers, who flew to Washington to block the Texas legislature from changing the state’s voting laws, have since tested positive. Both that staffer and the White House official were at the same rooftop reception at the Hotel Eaton last Wednesday night.”

MISTER, WE COULD USE A MAN LIKE JAIME ESCALANTE AGAIN: ‘Social justice’ math stalls in California. “California’s new Mathematics Curriculum Framework has become a political hot potato, reports Lawrence Richard on Yahoo News. The state education board will postpone a decision on implementation for 10 months in response to critics who charged it would ‘de-mathematize math’ and prevent high achievers from taking advanced classes.”

Yours Truly: The White House Is Panicked Over Inflation (Even Though YOU Have the Most to Lose). “If Hartnett’s numbers are correct (and they are), not only is Washington spending at an unprecedented rate, they’re printing that way, too. Nearly 39¢ of every dollar is magical Fed money.”

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE THIS SEEM LIKE A GOOD IDEA? A generous helping of leftist politics. The German Experiment That Placed Foster Children with Pedophiles.

Marco was assigned to live with Henkel, a forty-seven-year-old single man who supplemented his income as a foster father by repairing jukeboxes and other electronics. Marco was Henkel’s eighth foster son in sixteen years. When Henkel began fostering children, in 1973, a teacher noticed that he was “always looking for contact with boys.” Six years later, a caseworker observed that Henkel appeared to be in a “homosexual relationship” with one of his foster sons. When a public prosecutor launched an investigation, Helmut Kentler, who called himself Henkel’s “permanent adviser,” intervened on Henkel’s behalf—a pattern that repeats throughout more than eight hundred pages of case files about Henkel’s home. Kentler was a well-known scholar, the author of several books on sex education and parenting, and he was often quoted in Germany’s leading newspapers and on its TV programs. The newspaper Die Zeit had described him as the “nation’s chief authority on questions of sexual education.” On university letterhead, Kentler issued what he called an “expert opinion,” explaining that he had come to know Henkel through a “research project.” He commended Henkel on his parenting skills and disparaged a psychologist who invaded the privacy of his home, making “wild interpretations.”

Plus: “Kentler’s career was framed by his belief in the damage wrought by dominant fathers.”

EVERGREEN: To the DC elite, only some black lives matter. “It’s why the Nats shooting became national news while the murder of 6-year-old Nyiah Courtney, who was shot alongside five other adults in the Anacostia neighborhood of Congress Heights on Friday, went all but ignored by the national media. It’s why Mayor Muriel Bowser addressed the Nats shooting within 24 hours, but she ignored the murder of Mohammad Anwar, a Pakistani immigrant who was killed by two teenage girls in a carjacking in broad daylight just outside of Nationals Park, just not during a game.”

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Good News—Megyn Kelly Is Kinda Fun Again. “Ms. Kelly went on to bigger and more biased things at NBC for a while and we know how that worked out. She’s been busy since then counting her buyout money — there was a lot of it — and we haven’t seen as much of her as I personally would like. It looks like Smackdown Megyn is back.”

FIVE-ALARM LIAR: Biden’s Response to the Ominous Specter of Inflation Should Set Off More Alarm Bells. “Essentially, Biden said that Americans don’t have to worry about inflation caused by an explosive growth in debt financed by central banks because… he’s going to expand America’s debt through more financing! Don’t worry, the social programs will pay for themselves and fix the problems they create, or something.”
