Answer: All of them.

Before we get to the sordid details, a quick preview of today’s Wrap.

  • The funniest bit of 5G paranoia ever

And so much more at the link, you’d have to be crazy to miss it.

ROGER SIMON: To Vote or Not to Vote…in Georgia. “As for whether I would vote in Georgia—academic in my case—yes, in the end, of course I would. But I might pretend I wasn’t going to for a while, just to keep certain people’s feet to the fire.”

UGH: Component failure in NASA’s deep-space crew capsule could take months to fix.

In early November, engineers at Lockheed Martin working on Orion noticed that a power component inside the vehicle had failed, according to an internal email and an internal PowerPoint presentation seen by The Verge. The component is within one of the spacecraft’s eight power and data units, or PDUs. The PDUs are the “main power/data boxes,” for Orion according to the email, responsible for activating key systems that Orion needs during flight.

Replacing the PDU isn’t easy. The component is difficult to reach: it’s located inside an adapter that connects Orion to its service module — a cylindrical trunk that provides support, propulsion, and power for the capsule during its trip through space. To get to the PDU, Lockheed Martin could remove the Orion crew capsule from its service module, but it’s a lengthy process that could take up to a year. As many as nine months would be needed to take the vehicle apart and put it back together again, in addition to three months for subsequent testing, according to the presentation.

Lockheed has another option, but it’s never been done before and may carry extra risks, Lockheed Martin engineers acknowledge in their presentation. To do it, engineers would have to tunnel through the adapter’s exterior by removing some of the outer panels of the adapter to get to the PDU. The panels weren’t designed to be removed this way, but this scenario may only take up to four months to complete if engineers figure out a way to do it.

Later today or this weekend, SpaceX will attempt the highest flight yet for the eighth prototype of the company’s Starship vehicle.

BLUE ON BLUE: Tulsi Gabbard Lets Joe Biden Have It For Choosing Neera Tanden For OMB.

Gabbard shared a screenshot of an old email, allegedly sent by Tanden, in which she appeared to support the idea of confiscating oil from countries in which the United States had participated in nation building. “Neera Tanden thinks the way to reduce our deficit is to steal oil from countries like Libya to pay us back for bombing them, toppling their government, and turning them into a failed state. @JoeBiden Is this really the person you want in charge of managing our budget?” she asked.

A PANDEMIC-INSPIRED BABY BUST? Experts are predicting ghost-town maternity wards for at least the next year, thanks to the Pandemic. But Breakpoint’s John Stonestreet and Shane Morris say hold on, there’s more to it than Covid.

THIS MAKES SENSE TO ME:

Calls to boycott the Georgia runoff are idiotic, if they aren’t actually coming from Democratic or Chinese sockpuppets.

UPDATE: Just got this email:

So there you have it.

MICHAEL MOORE TO MAGA FANS: ‘A Lot of You Are Going to Die’ From COVID.

Woke leftists will always make stupid statements (like how David Letterman claimed the press “educates” and “informs” people). It’s a fact of life. One can only hope that they are too dumb to understand what they are actually saying, or merely indulging in sarcasm.

Hopefully that’s the case for documentary filmmaker and Donald Trump hater Michael Moore, who wrote a lengthy post on his Facebook account addressed to “MAGA Nation.” In a tone that was dripping with condescension disguised as magnanimity, Moore made a plea to Trump supporters: “Don’t Die. Your love of and loyalty to Trump isn’t worth your life. With 73 million of you refusing to wear a mask and to social distance, there’ll be no way to eradicate this disease. And a lot of you are going to die in the next three months. Why do you want to infect your spouse, your parents and grandparents, your children?”

It is astounding that Moore assumes that every single one of Trump’s 73 million voters this year take zero steps to prevent the spread of COVID and that the virus only affects the red parts of the country. Maybe he should be lecturing the other side of the aisle with advice to wear a mask and social distance because leading Democrats don’t. Anyway, most COVID catchers will not die of it, as Alyssa Milano – and, well, science – can testify.

Moore continued: “If al-Qaeda started killing one American every 37 seconds, what would you want to do about that? Why are you doing NOTHING to stop this slaughter?”

If al-Qaeda resumed killing Americans at an alarming rate, Trump voters wouldn’t refer to them as the new Minutemen, as Moore did in 2004.

PRIVACY: CBP’s warrantless use of cell phone location data is under investigation.

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a division of DHS, “has paid a government contractor named Venntel nearly half a million dollars for access to a commercial database containing location data mined from applications on millions of Americans’ mobile phones,” five Democratic US senators said in October.

“CBP is not above the law and it should not be able to buy its way around the Fourth Amendment,” the senators told Inspector General Joseph Cuffari while requesting an investigation into “CBP’s warrantless use of commercial databases containing Americans’ information, including but not limited to Venntel’s location database.”

Cuffari granted the request for an investigation, telling the senators that his office will “initiate an audit that we believe will address your concerns” in a letter sent November 25 and made public by the Democratic senators yesterday. The senators who requested the investigation are Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Edward Markey (D-Mass.), and Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii).

It’s a motley crew, but Wyden is at least solid on digital privacy issues.
