NYT REPORTER LEAKS DM HE RECEIVED FROM COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACH WHO CALLED OUT HIS CREDIBILITY, SAID HE SHOULD INVESTIGATE BIDEN.

[Coach Vinny] Marino’s Twitter is now locked.

Really nasty and vile move by [Times reporter Michael] Schmidt, and it pretty much proves Marino’s point that some in media are not to be trusted. Hope no one ever trusts giving this guy a tip ever again as it’s clear he doesn’t respect anyone’s privacy, has no ethics and is truly a petty human being, in addition to pushing propaganda.

But fortunately, most people are sane and blasted Schmidt.

Somebody really needs to write a book about the virus-like nature of social media.

WHEW: U.S. evacuees ‘relieved’ about quarantine on military base.

“Everybody was very relieved” about the quarantine order, McCoy said by telephone. “We wanted to make sure all the tests were done first.”

At the military base about 60 miles (97 kilometers) east of Los Angeles, the evacuees are staying in hotel-style housing and have spent time walking and exercising, some wearing masks, said Jose Arballo Jr., a spokesman for the county’s public health agency.

As of Friday, none of the evacuees had shown signs of illness, he said.

Good.

RICHARD FERNANDEZ: A Thousand Ways to Get Sold Out.

Whatever the legal relevance of excluding Hunter Biden’s connection to Burisma Holdings from Donald Trump’s impeachment may be, the saga of a political scion getting a cushy foreign job on the strength of his name plays to the populist narrative of elite betrayal almost as if it had been written by a Hollywood scriptwriter. The 2019-nCoV outbreak poses a potential political threat not just to the Chinese Communist Party but the entire One World project. If virus spreads unchecked, the public will be looking for someone to blame and it won’t just be the Chinese apparatchiks.

DON SURBER: Media Frankensteins hate their creation.

The media wanted President Donald John Trump impeached. The House impeached him. Now as his acquittal nears — painstakingly slow-walked at a turtle’s pace by Mitch McConnell — the media valedictorians ask themselves what have we done?

NICK GILLESPIE: Mike Bloomberg Just Lost My Vote With His Super Bowl Ad. “The billionaire former three-term mayor of New York panders to Democratic loyalists rather than laying out a vision for a prosperous, tolerant America.”

His ads are awful on both substance and style. They’re mostly low-information anti-Trump, and when Bloomberg speaks he has zero charisma. Hard to believe a titan of industry — in media no less — can be so unappealing even when groomed and set up for the camera. They come across like the morale-boosting videos a CEO might do for employees after cutting their vacation time.
