OLD AND BUSTED: “Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past.”

The New Hotness? “In the new world of trans identity, women are just a thing of the past:”

Where did we even get this idea that women are a thing? From men, probably. People without penises must be some kind of other. They must be weaker, the ones who maybe bear children. Which assumes that a man can’t become pregnant, which is flagrant bigotry. Of course a man can become pregnant, and with a lot less complaining, frankly. Pregnant men are still men; they bear their problems and children more stoically.

So what is the big issue these days? Women’s sports. Who cares? Nobody watches women’s sports anyway. It might as well be men pretending to be women. Men are faster, stronger, and more talented, after all. Why should we watch inferior cis women plod around when women born as men can kick their rear ends? Don’t we want to see the best athletes perform? I do.

That’s from David Marcus at the Federalist. Yesterday, Twitchy spotted Wired magazine demanding their readers embrace “‘The Glorious Victories of Trans Athletes’ because hey, sports ‘have never been fair’ anyway.”

As Marcus concludes, “Women had a good run. It’s over.”

I’m so old, I can remember when cancel culture simply took out one individual or Indiana pizza parlor at a time. Now whole genders are being cancelled overnight! (Evidently, Facebook will have to start reducing the tally from their current number of 71 or so.)

UNEXPECTEDLY! Long lines and long waits for some on Day 1 of LAX’s new Uber, Lyft and taxi system.

In an attempt to tame the infamous traffic at the nation’s second-busiest airport, LAX officials on Tuesday took a major step: banning most Uber, Lyft and taxi pickups from the curbside. Drop-offs, which occur on the upper level, have not changed.

Even on a low-traffic day, the new pickup system had some growing pains. At points in the early afternoon, the wait time for Uber and Lyft rides swelled, with more than 100 people waiting in each line for their drivers in the pickup lot.

“When you make a bold change like this, you’ll be faced with a little bit of refining to get it right,” said Keith Wilschetz, deputy executive director at Los Angeles World Airports, the city agency that runs LAX.

I read “bold change” as “taxi cab medallion protection.”

GOOD AND HARD: “Millennials beware — a [Massachusetts] committee charged with revamping the state’s tax code is eyeing music downloads and streaming services.”

Since, “70% percent of Millenials say they are more likely to vote socialist” according to a Dow Jones MarketWatch column published on Monday, presumably, they won’t mind this. Or perhaps, they’ll eventually discover, as P.J. O’Rourke wrote in his 1995 book, Age and Guile Beat Youth, Innocence, and a Bad Haircut, when he began his first job after college…

It wasn’t much of a job. I was a messenger. But it brought in $150 a week and that was wealth as far as I was concerned. We were paid fortnightly. I waited greedily for my $300. But when my pay envelope arrived I found, after federal, state, and city taxes had been deducted and social security, health insurance, and pension plan payments had been made, only $160 was left. I began yelling. “I’m a revolutionary! I’ve been a revolutionary since I went to college! I’ve demonstrated! I’ve rioted! I’ve done everything I could to overthrow capitalism! And what do I find when I get my first paycheck from a capitalist company? COMMUNISM!!!” Of course, it was several years before the implications of what I yelled sank in. At that age I wasn’t listening to anyone, myself included.

Siri: What is corporatism?

(Classical reference in headline.)

THE REPULSIVE CREW: From Scott Johnson at Powerline. Apt and biting phrase describing “James Clapper, John Brennan, James Comey, Susan Rice, Samantha Power and others.”

MEANWHILE, OVER AT VODKAPUNDIT: Mark Zuckerberg Embraces Free Speech: Will Facebook? “While there might not be any corporate policy in place against conservative or libertarian views, the fact that the Silicon Valley workforce has become so dominated by left-wing progressives, that it probably makes any attempts at moderation problematical at best.”

To be fair, as Jim Treacher noted in July, the left assures that “Now We Only Have 14-18 Months, Not 12 Years, to Save the Planet.” Might as get in some serious bingewatching, before the world comes to end.

NICE: Pentagon And Lockheed Martin Agree To Big Cost Reduction On F-35 Fighters. “The agreement, disclosed October 29, will reduce the unit cost of all three variants by an average of 12.7% across three production lots. The most common variant, to be used by the Air Force and nearly a dozen overseas allies, will cost less than $80 million to manufacture—below the cost of buying a new F-16, the legacy fighter F-35 is supposed to replace.”
