KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: The Whistleblower Gets Whistleblown. “This thing stunk when we first found out that the whistleblower didn’t even have firsthand knowledge of the call. If he’s Biden and Brennan’s puppet the stench becomes permanently toxic.”

The fact that villains this obvious and this inept occupy such positions of power doesn’t speak well of our republic.

EVERYTHING SEEMINGLY IS SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL: Anti-Trump Media Is Waging Psychological Warfare Against the American People.

After the 2016 election, the left quickly launched a new talking point, proclaiming “this is not normal” and in a way, they were right. It’s not normal for the losing party, in partnership with the media, to attempt to negate the results of a free and fair election because they didn’t like the outcome.

When the Washington Post and The New York Times treat the death of an ISIS leader with more sensitivity than they would for a group of innocent Catholic school students in MAGA hats or the president of the United States, we have crossed a line as a culture and a country.

The Democrats are still trying to undo the results of the 2016 election three years later, and the media is openly trying to assist them by going negative on Trump every single day.

Just think of the media as Democratic Party operatives with bylines, and their daily freakouts all make sense.

(Classical reference in headline.)

CONSERVATIVES SHOULD LOVE THAT THE WASHINGTON NATIONALS WON THE WORLD SERIES: This is likely the only time I will ever approvingly quote two Washington Post writers. The game is baseball, but the lessons are especially applicable for those on the Right in politics.

HERE’S WHY EVANGELICALS ARE TRUMP’S STRONGEST SUPPORTERS: They vote for him to be their president, not their pastor. OK, there’s more to it, but that’s the core of the situation.

UGH: Beauty queen begs for asylum in Facebook live videos.

Bahareh Zare Bahari, 31, who represented Iran in the 2018 Miss Intercontinental pageant, has reportedly been stranded at Manila airport in the Philippines for the past two weeks. Immigration authorities in Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport detained her when she was entering the country from Dubai.

Bahari, a dentistry student in the Philippines, has been documenting her stay at the airport through live streams on Facebook that have received thousands of views.

In a video posted on Saturday, she pleaded to the Philippines government to grant her asylum.

“I have a message for President Duterte,” she said in the video. “Please help me, please. Philippines not safe for me anymore … Please hear me.”

She said that if sent back to Iran, she would face “long prison sentences, at least 25 years,” and “rape and beating.” She said as someone who lived in the Philippines for six years, she was expecting the Philippines government to show her support.

Granting asylum seems like a no-brainer to me.

AYN RAND DIDN’T WRITE THE RETURN OF THE PRIMITIVE AS A HOW-TO GUIDE: Victor Davis Hanson asks: Is California Becoming Premodern?

Residents carefully plan long highway trips as if they were ancient explorers charting dangerous routes. Tourists warily enter downtown Los Angeles or San Francisco as if visiting a politically unstable nation.

Insatiable state tax collectors and agencies are viewed by the public as if they were corrupt officials of Third World countries seeking bribes. Californians flip their switches unsure of whether the lights will go on. Many are careful about what they say, terrified of progressive thought police who seem more worried about critics than criminals.

Our resolute ancestors took a century to turn a wilderness into California. Our irresolute generation in just a decade or two has been turning California into a wilderness.

Earlier: The rolling blackouts in California is not a climate change story. It’s a perfect storm of bad management decisions and rent-seeking green energy contractors.

THAT’S WHERE THE GRAMSCIAN DAMAGE HAS LEFT US:

ELECTRICITY IS FOR LOSERS: California is ‘winning’ its way into the Stone Age.

The same California that has been the seedbed of world-famous companies — like the ones that make it possible for people to send widely viewed short missives of 280 characters or fewer and share and like images of grumpy cats — isn’t doing so well at keeping the lights on.

The same California that has boldly committed to drawing half of its energy from renewable sources by 2025 — and 100 percent renewable energy by 2045 — can’t manage its existing energy infrastructure.

The same California that has pushed its electricity rates to the highest in the contiguous United States through its mandates and regulations doesn’t provide continuous access to that overpriced electricity.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has to try to evade responsibility for this debacle while presiding over it, blames “dog-eat-dog capitalism” for the state’s current blackout crisis. It sounds like he is referring to robber barons who have descended on the state to suck it dry of profits while burning it to the ground.

But in fact, Newsom is talking about one of the most regulated industries in the state — namely, California’s energy utilities that answer to the state’s public utilities commission.

Milton Friedman said that if you put the government in charge of the Sahara desert, in five years there would be a shortage of sand. Put progressives in charge of the nation’s most advanced economy, and pretty soon you can’t even keep the lights on.

CHRISTIAN TOTO: Why Woke Comedy’s ‘Punching Down’ Rule Is a Joke.

Trump fans aren’t rich. They often hail from cobalt blue collar backgrounds and have little political clout. In short, they’re low on the cultural ladder and, therefore, shouldn’t be targets of ridicule.

Yet they are, both in this sketch and across the comedy landscape. Earlier this year far-left comedian Jimmy Kimmel uncorked this screed.

“Like many Americans who have been repeatedly punched in the head, Colby Covington is a big Donald Trump supporter. And there’s nothing Donald Trump loves more than people who love Donald Trump.”

So where’s the outrage? Is anyone more marginalized than Trump supporters these days?

They’re repeatedly beaten up, mocked on national TV and some higher profile supporters are chased out of restaurants.

Meanwhile, today’s woke comedy police cite “punching down” as the biggest thought crime on the books.

To be fair, woke comedians say a lot of stuff, none of it funny.

CHOOSE YOUR RELIGIOUS GOALS WISELY: Boston College faculty warn Koch Foundation funding could compromise ‘Catholic mission.’

Faculty for Justice met Oct. 18 to discuss that vote. One of its members, sociology professor Juliet Schor, told the newspaper that Koch funding is about “transforming” colleges “to conform to their mission”:

“If a donor is giving to what we already do or what faculty are already doing, it’s easier to determine [whether to accept] that,” Schor said. “When you have something new then you have to look at the content from it. My point about the Kochs is that they’ve made their mission very clear over many decades [and] they have a strong set of beliefs which I think are very much at odds with a Jesuit Catholic mission.”

Schor specifically referenced Koch’s lobbying against environmental regulations and support for climate change denial in her opposition to the funding.

And now we know that the religion of radical environmentalism has already trumped (pun not intended, honest) Boston’s “Catholic mission.” (I wonder what they think of some of the Kochs’ other supported positions?)

INTERNATIONALISM IS A WAY FOR THE SELF-PROCLAIMED ELITES TO PRETEND THERE IS REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT WHILE DOING WHAT VERY WELL PLEASES THEM. FOR EVERYONE ELSE, IT’S DESTRUCTION:  Citizens of Nowhere.
