EVEN OBAMA COMPLAINED ABOUT THEIR USELESSNESS: Trump is right about the NATO deadbeats. “In 2014, NATO agreed that each member country should spend a minimum of 2% of GDP on defense within a decade. So far, only five countries meet that threshold: the United States, the United Kingdom, Greece, Estonia and Latvia. The United States spends 3.5% of GDP on defense, the most of any NATO member. Among other big NATO members, France spends 1.8% of GDP on defense, Germany 1.2%, Italy 1.2%, and Spain 0.9%.”

NEW FROM PETER GRANT:  The Pride of the Damned (Cochrane’s Company Book 3).

The shadow war started as a simple contract to defend a system against asteroid thieves. The harder Andrew Cochrane and Hawkwood Security fought, the worse things became. Now they find themselves embroiled in an interstellar war with an entire mafia!

Worse yet, the proceedings are so profitable – not to mention bloody – that they’ve attracted the attention of some of the worst criminal organizations in the galaxy. If Hawkwood is to survive, it’ll need all the wits, cunning and ingenuity it can muster – and the unwavering courage and dedication of its people.

The galaxy’s not big enough for both sides. One or the other will go to the wall.

IF ONLY IT WERE THAT SIMPLE:  We’re done, let’s divide up the nation. On the good side let’s remember Twitter is not the nation.  If Twitter were the nation, we’d have president Hillary.  Deep breaths, people. It’s bad, but not that bad.

OPEN THREAD. Just because.

PAUL MIRENGOFF: Strzok Testifies. “Another highlight occurred when Strzok was called on to explain his text to Lisa Page saying ‘we’ll stop’ Donald Trump from being elected president.”

21ST CENTURY PROBLEMS: The Tech Industry’s War On Kids. “These parents have no idea that lurking behind their kids’ screens and phones are a multitude of psychologists, neuroscientists, and social science experts who use their knowledge of psychological vulnerabilities to devise products that capture kids’ attention for the sake of industry profit. What these parents and most of the world have yet to grasp is that psychology — a discipline that we associate with healing — is now being used as a weapon against children.”
