#JOURNALISM: The New Republic’s New Owner Covered Up The Fact That Oregon’s Governor Was a Rapist. It’s okay, he was a Democrat. “By the time Goldschmidt’s crimes were revealed, the statute of limitations had expired so he was immune from criminal prosecution. . . . In 2008, a few years after admitting he didn’t go public with his knowledge that Oregon’s Democratic governor was a rapist, McCormack wrote a book a called You Don’t Know Me: A Citizen’s Guide to Republican Family Values. According to the cover blurb from Arianna Huffington, ‘Win McCormack reveals the true hypocrisy and depravity of those who love to quote the bible but act like Caligula.’ In 2011, Elizabeth Lynn Dunham, Goldschmidt’s teenage victim, died in hospice at age 49. She spent most of her life battling addiction and mental illness. Neil Goldschmidt is still with us. When he’s not in Oregon, he lives on an estate in the South of France.”

I NOW BASICALLY ASSUME THAT ANY JUICY RACISM STORY IS FAKE, AND I’M SELDOM WRONG: More damaging evidence in the SUNY Albany racial hoax:

Audio from two 911 phone calls and video footage of the alleged racially motivated assault at a New York college has been released, providing more evidence why the women who made the accusation are now being charged with false reporting.

The three women claimed they were attacked by more than a dozen white people who hurled racial slurs at them as they rode a bus back to the State University of New York at Albany campus. But video footage from the bus and cell phone cameras showed that one of the alleged victims threw the first punch and that one of the accusers is the one who used a racial slur — against a white passenger.

Now some of that footage has been released, but it is difficult to tell what exactly happened. The 911 audio is more damaging, showing one of the accusers saying “I think it’s so funny” and “I beat up a boy” before the call connected to a dispatcher.

When the call connected, the accuser then tells the story that she was “jumped” on a bus and that it was a racially motivated attack. . . .

The incident, which occurred in late January, sparked protests at the campus and a fountain of support for the accusers. Even now that evidence has come to light showing they were not the victims of a hate crime, there are some in the community standing by them.

The Upstate New York Black Lives Matter Organization has issued a letter supporting the women, calling the evidence against them “inconclusive.”

Uh huh.

IF THESE GUYS CAN’T MAKE HEADS OR TAILS OUT OF UNCLE SAM’S BOOKS: Then America is in far worse financial shape than most of us realize. “These guys” are the green-eyeshade types at the Government Accountability Office, the chief investigative arm of Congress. Katie Watson of the Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group says GAO just announced – for the 19th consecutive year – that the federal government’s accounting is so bad that it “did not render an opinion on the federal government’s consolidated financial statements.”

Think about that for a moment. If what GAO is saying is true – and if anything GAO is likely understating the problem – then the federal budget is a tissue of fantasies, the national debt is much higher than the official figure of $19 trillion, and it’s impossible to know how many tax dollars are lost every year to waste, fraud and abuse. And on that happy note, welcome to Super Tuesday 2016!

PAUL MIRENGOFF: Should Democrats Be Terrified By Donald Trump? “All of these propositions are defensible and most of them strike me as true. Although I don’t believe they add up to the conclusion that Democrats should be terrified of Trump, they do suggest that Trump has a realistic shot at defeating Clinton. . . . Continetti’s article doesn’t deal with the question of whether conservative Republicans should be terrified of Donald Trump. I believe we should, at a minimum, be alarmed. But not primarily because of concerns over whether he is electable.”

AN OSCAR FOR THE GRIEVANCE INDUSTRY. PJTV alumnus Joe Hicks writes in USA Today, “The report’s major argument about racial bias in Hollywood should raise eyebrows. This community of creative artists and film magnates is perhaps the best-known liberal spot in the nation. The rare conservative who works in this milieu mostly keeps his politics in the closet.” Plus this:

According to the latest available data, the National Basketball Association is overwhelmingly African-American. About 1 in 5 of its players are white, and only a tiny percentage Hispanic or Asian. The National Hockey League? About one in 20 of these players are black. About 70% of National Football League players are black while only 28% are white. Is anyone outraged about this? Shouldn’t these teams be more diverse? If not, why not? Can white kids identify with a team that has predominantly black athletes (a manifestly absurd question)?

ANGELO CODEVILLA: Donald Trump Is The Next Barack Obama. “Obama has been our first emperor. A Donald Trump presidency, far from reversing the ruling class’s unaccountable hold over American life, would seal it. Because Trump would act as our second emperor, he would render well-nigh impossible our return to republicanism.”

RICHARD FERNANDEZ ON PREFERENCE FALSIFICATION and how nations collapse. “It’s becoming evident that the European elites failed to understand how explosive the migrant issue was until it detonated full in their face. Now it is in the midst of a crisis which could literally bring down the European Union. Why didn’t they see it coming? Because they believed their own Narrative, even when they should have suspected it was a lie of their own making.”

Third parties, I’m sorry to say, are a waste. If you don’t like how Presidential politics are going, find a House, Senate, or state race you’re interested in.
