NEWS FROM WISCONSIN’S “DEEP STATE:” Sheriff says Dem prosecutor is on a ‘witch-hunt’ against Wis. Gov. Walker.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. has accused District Attorney John Chisholm, a fellow Democrat, of “abuse of prosecutorial power” in the relentless criminal investigation of Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and 29 conservative groups.

Clarke’s forceful public criticism is of Chisholm and the so-called “John Doe” investigation that Chisholm has pursued since 2010 against Walker, his staff and virtually every conservative advocacy group in the state.

Clarke, who has been sheriff since 2002 and is running for re-election on Tuesday as the Democratic nominee, has been elected and re-elected with heavy support both from fellow African-Americans and from conservatives.

Clarke said that he agreed with a petition seeking appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate Chisholm. The petition was filed on Sept. 26 by a major Chisholm target, conservative fundraiser Eric O’Keefe.

While Clarke and Chisholm are both Democrats, the iconoclastic sheriff has often clashed with the more liberal Democrats who dominate Milwaukee politics, including Chisholm.

Walker needs to clean house post-election.

BECAUSE IT’S THE ONLY WAY TO GET ANYWHERE: Analysis: Why Companies Such as Virgin Galactic and Orbital Take Risks and Endure Losses. In the 1950s and 1960s we were losing test pilots all the time. But we — and the pilots — thought it was worth it to advance flight technology. They were right then, and it’s right now.

And for those seriously interested, let me recommend Rand Simberg’s book, Safe Is Not An Option. Here’s my interview with Rand, and here’s one by Ed Driscoll.

WHAT DESPERATION LOOKS LIKE: Democrats Threaten Voters: Get To The Polls, Or Else!

The New York State Democratic Committee is bullying people into voting next week with intimidating letters warning that it can easily find out which slackers fail to cast a ballot next Tuesday.

“Who you vote for is your secret. But whether or not you vote is public record,” the letter says.

“We will be reviewing voting records . . . to determine whether you joined your neighbors who voted in 2014.”

It ends with a line better suited to a mob movie than a major political party: “If you do not vote this year, we will be interested to hear why not.”

The letter and accompanying post card was criticized even by party members, with one Democratic consultant saying it was the wrong way to inspire votes.

I can’t make you go to the prom with me. But if you go to the prom with Joey, I’ll know about it. And I’ll want to know why.

HEH: Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama hit by hecklers at separate speeches. “First Hillary Clinton, then Michelle Obama. Both of the Democratic Party’s leading ladies were heckled while giving speeches at separate campaign events this week — not a good sign in the lead-up to an Election Day that’s already expected to go Republican.”

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): Louisiana woman sexually abused 3-year-old boy, had sex with dog on video: police.

A Louisiana woman was caught on tape sexually abusing a 3-year-old boy and having sex with a dog, according to police.

Angeline Lodice, 26, was arrested Monday after the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office police obtained several photos and videos of her alleged sexual acts, according to an arrest report.

One of Lodice’s relatives reached out to the 3-year-old boy’s father after receiving photos and videos of the encounter between Lodice and the boy. . . . Police did not say how Lodice knows the boy or the dog.

I blame the patriarchy.

WELL, OBAMA’S BEEN ANTIGUN, BUT HIS POLICIES ALL SEEM TO MAKE PEOPLE WANT TO BUY ONE: Gallup: Public support for stricter gun laws drops 11 points in less than two years. “Note too that support for making gun laws less strict is now the highest it’s been in 15 years, higher even than in the anxious days after 9/11.”

And now we’ve got Dana Loesch’s new book to really put the boot in.

You can’t judge a book by its cover, but I’ll bet this cover sells some books.

ISRAELIS FIGURE OUT THAT APPEASING OBAMA HAS BEEN A WASTE OF TIME:

First, the unbridled attacks against Israel’s democratically elected – and popular – prime minister show us that when we are faced with an inherently hostile administration, the wages of appeasement are contempt.

No Israel leader has done more to appease a US administration than Netanyahu has done to appease Obama. Against the opposition of his party and the general public, Netanyahu in 2009 bowed to Obama’s demand to embrace the goal of establishing a Palestinian state.

Against the opposition of his party and the general public, in 2010 Netanyahu bowed to Obama’s demand and enacted an official 10-month moratorium on Jewish property rights in lands beyond the 1949 armistice lines, and later enacted an unofficial moratorium on those rights.

And Netanyahu bowed to Obama’s pressure, released murderers from prison and conducted negotiations with Abbas that only empowered Abbas and his political war to delegitimize and isolate Israel.

And for all his efforts to appease Obama, today the administration abets Palestinian terrorism and political warfare.

Appeasement never works.

THIS IS HOW THEY ROLL: Yeah, you won our video contest, but we’re changing the rules. “This MoveOn/Mayday video contest, lame though it was, was revealing. When liberals say they want to get money out of politics, they aren’t serious. What they mean is, they want to get conservative money out of politics.”

They’d want to get libertarian money out, too, if there were enough to matter. But there’s also this:

Why is that? The answer is simple: liberals command the culture. They control virtually all universities, virtually all public schools, virtually all newspapers, virtually all of Hollywood and the entertainment industry, almost the entire apparatus of the news. That control, added to the corruption of crony government, gives liberals access to enormous amounts of money, so that in almost every contested election, the liberal candidate has more money than the conservative candidate.

And yet…liberals have a problem. Their arguments are terrible, and their theories are contradicted at nearly every turn by the facts. Which means that they can’t withstand criticism. They can’t take competition; they need a monopoly. Which, in turn, means that they must prevent voters from hearing conservative ideas and arguments. They can do that in the schools and in the culture, and they don’t have to worry about newspapers or broadcast television. But there is a loophole of sorts: during election seasons, conservatives can buy time on television and on the radio to broadcast messages that liberals are otherwise able to blockade. This is intolerable! Because when people hear conservative ideas, unfiltered by the liberal press, they tend to find them persuasive.

So “money in politics” must be denounced. Most money in politics is liberal, from labor unions, crony billionaires like Tom Steyer, and so on. But that isn’t the money the Democrats mean: they want to silence conservative voices, so their monopoly can be preserved and threats to their rule–democracy, one might say–can be eliminated. The MoveOn/Mayday contest was a microcosm of one of the central political conflicts of our time.

Yeah, pretty much.

IT’S SAD THAT SOMETHING SO OBVIOUS COUNTS AS A VICTORY, BUT IT DOES: Due process win: Washington Supreme Court rules burden of proof lies on accuser. “The Washington Supreme Court ruled Thursday that those accused of rape are not responsible for proving they obtained consent. In a 6-3 ruling, the court said that requiring the accused to provide such proof to the preponderance of evidence standard violated constitutional rights.”
