ELECTORAL HEAT MAP looking a tad overoptimistic.

JAMES TARANTO: The Case for Obama: Re-election would ensure he is accountable for the mess he inherits from himself. “Obama has spent the past four years explaining away his failings by essentially arguing he is the best of all possible presidents–that he has done as well as any man could given the ‘mess’ he ‘inherited’ from his predecessor. It is certainly true that he took office under adverse circumstances. But so will whoever takes office Jan. 20. In fact, things are about to get a lot worse because of decisions taken but deferred during the Obama years. The mess today’s winner will inherit includes not only high unemployment and slow growth but impending policy changes that threaten to make those problems worse.”

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY ADULT LIFE: The political signs in my yard got knocked down.  Son and I went around straightening ours and other people’s.  Weirdly no O signs knocked down.  Tolerance — I don’t think it means what liberals think it means.

EPISTEMIC CLOSURE UPDATE: 155 to 2. “The Daily Princetonian reports that 157 members of Princeton University’s faculty or staff have donated to the two presidential candidates. One hundred fifty-five donated to Obama; two donated to Romney. The two who donated to Romney were a visiting lecturer in engineering and a janitor.”

Sounds like a diversity problem.

VODKAPUNDIT IS DRUNKBLOGGING THE ELECTION RESULTS: Find out tonight which will crash first, PJM’s server, or Steve Green’s liver.

UPDATE: Link removed, as it looks like Steve’s cast-iron liver is working fine. Our Altair 8800 server on the other hand…

MEMO FROM THE KREMLIN: Today’s U.S. Elections Won’t Be Free or Fair.

Well, at least we haven’t jailed any feminist punk rockers because they embarrassed our leader. Filmmakers, on the other hand. . . .

LUCY AND THE FOOTBALL: A video look back at when the MSM called Florida for Gore in 2000, while polls were still open in the state.

And here’s the headline on the Drudge Report (and related article) that was similarly designed to depress GOP voters four years later.

Which brings us to Tom Blumer this morning at Newsbusters: “Will Someone in the Press Prematurely Project Obama the Winner Based on Dem-Dominated 31-State Exit Polls?”

Well, if past performance is any guarantee…

(Bumped to top as Drudge exit polls begin to leak out.)

COMPETENCE: Tenants at Red Hook housing projects still without power, heat and water. “A week after Superstorm Sandy, most tenants at Brooklyn’s biggest public-housing development literally remain in the dark. That’s because tenants of the 2,878-unit Red Hook Houses yesterday were still waiting for New York City Housing Authority crews to pump out water from flooded basements so utility companies can safely restore their electricity. Most are also without potable water and heat.”

TOLERANCE:  A female pro-Obama voter in the Detroit area, campaigning for Obama at the polls, hit a fellow voter in the face after the fellow voter objected to the campaigning.  Thankfully the rule of law prevailed and the Obama supporter was arrested.  She apparently then hit the cop, too.  Nice.
