EXPECT MORE OF THE UNEXPECTEDLY: Hey, look on the bright side: it will be fun to continue seeing all bad economic news reported as “unexpectedly” in the MSM for another four years.

HOLD THE PHONE (at least temporarily): “Karl Rove & the Romney camp are resisting call for Ohio for Obama and saying that Romney can still win Ohio,” Chuck DeVore tweets.

Toby Harden tweets, “Fox’s Carl Cameron, in Boston, says ‘you will see no candidate giving a speech here until more of the vote is in in Ohio.'” Harden adds, “The Romney decision not to concede yet is just the first stage of grief — denial.” Yup.

UPDATE (11:57 PM): Seth Mandel of Commentary tweets, “It sounds like Rove is conceding. Fox brought in Barone to debate him on it. This is actually fascinating stuff.”

FOX CALLS OHIO FOR OBAMA.

READER ZACH WHITE EMAILS: “If Obama is reelected, good hardworking people should give up and go Galt. The tipping point is the 2012 election. Will the makers finally succumb to the takers? It’s pointless to think that if America reelects the most unqualified disastrous president in recent memory, we should stand our ground and continue fighting. it’s a signal that marxist free-lunchism and free birth control for everyone trump economic well-being and prosperity in the minds of the masses. Give up. Go Galt. Protect what few assets you have left, and start to hunker down for the coming storm. America is beyond screwed, well past the fiscal insanity of a number of EU countries. Think of it this way – we sit and watch California destroy itself and wonder who could be so foolish as to remain there and dedicate himself to indentured servitude in a state headed for disaster. Why don’t those fools just leave!! Same for Venezuela. as they descend into chaos and totalitarianism, do they reject Chavez more? The answer is plainly no. The spiral down the drain is irreversible and obvious. The more the government creates misery, the more they create programs to help people cope with the misery they’ve created, and we achieve a perpetual negative feedback loop. My advice is simple – if Obama is reelected, get a lawyer and a financial advisor, cash out as much of your assets as you can, and prepare yourself for a nosedive off a cliff. anything else would be imprudent and irresponsible to yourself and your dependents. Who wants to be a Dagny Taggart dedicating themselves to a life of indentured servitude trying to correct the wrongs of a heavy handed government? i will not be volunteering. I didn’t give up on America, America gave up on me.”

OBAMA’S MISSING FIRST TERM: COMING SOON? A possible scenario for the next four years from Stanley Kurtz:

In ordinary circumstances, the notion that re-election vindicates and solidifies a first-term agenda would be justified. But when no-one’s actually seen the transformative achievements of Obama’s first term put into practice, we are in unexplored territory. While quiet popular acceptance of the coming changes is certainly a possibility, I wouldn’t bet on it. Deep dissatisfaction with the concrete results of Obama’s delayed transformation, coupled with a sense of having been fooled by the backloading, could set off a wave of voter anger that confounds conventional expectations.

UPDATE (12:36 AM): Or perhaps skip it and click here, as Kurtz has uploaded an updated version of his post tonight.

STEPHEN GREEN: “If Romney wins, he will need us to constantly push him in the direction of sanity. If Obama wins, we will need to fight him at every turn. I’m not quitting. Don’t you quit now, either.”

If Obama wins, I’ll be as gracious and generous as the Democrats were in 2000 and 2004.

I HAVE  QUESTIONS:  We’re not a country of land or blood.  We’re a country of beliefs.  If we’ve lost that, who are we?  Who am I?  And where do I go?

AS THINGS LOOK WORSE FOR ROMNEY, I’m getting emails about #Reynolds2016. Well, if you’re pinning your hopes on an obscure law professor . . . .

On the other hand, I think I could take Joe Biden.

CBS CALLS NEW HAMPSHIRE FOR OBAMA.

I MUST BE VERY STUPID: But I don’t understand how they can call states with 1% of the vote or 7%.

ANN ALTHOUSE IS LIVEBLOGGING. Things not looking so good for Romney.
