WELCOME BACK, GLENN. Here’s a public thank-you for trusting us with the keys. And thanks to all you Instapundit readers for hanging out with us last week.

Thanks for letting me sit-in this past week with the Army of Guestbloggers, Glenn. For those wishing to catch me away from the Big Stage, as Ann put it earlier today, stop by Ed Driscoll.com and my Twitter feed throughout the week, and on Saturdays, PJM Political, Pajamas Media’s weekly show on Sirius-XM’s POTUS channel.

A THUG TOO FAR. The precedent has been set. May they have joy of it. . .

SO MUCH FOR LEARNING TO LOVE OBAMACARE: 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan. “Support for repeal of the new national health care plan has jumped to its highest level ever. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 63% of U.S. voters now favor repeal of the plan passed by congressional Democrats and signed into law by President Obama in March. Prior to today, weekly polling had shown support for repeal ranging from 54% to 58%.” I’m guessing that the Administration’s revealed incompetence regarding the Gulf oil spill and foreign policy is now lowering people’s assessment regarding ObamaCare.

MICKEY KAUS: “Is Tesla really open to letting the U.A.W. organize the promising new joint venture factory with Toyota it announced today? That could be a big mistake. Not only have U.A.W. factories failed all over America, the union now actually owns a big stake in Tesla’s competitors. Will the U.A.W. try to cripple Tesla like it crippled Saturn (and eventually killed off the previous, too-successful Toyota joint venture at the same Fremont, California, site)?”

THANKS TO GLENN for having me back and to all my co-guestbloggers, old and new. It was fun to come over and do another turn on the big stage, and you can read me and join the conversation, as always, at Althouse.

HAVING RETURNED FROM MY OFFLINE VACATION, I should note that I spent a lot of time diving with In Depth Watersports, a new operation run by Nat Robb, whom I’ve known for years and who some of you may remember from my rebreather story and video a few years ago. He and his lovely sidekick Liz are now providing boutique dive services on board a converted Navy Seal Rigid Inflatable Boat, whose enormous speed makes it easy to get to the dive sites without a lot of wasted time. Nat’s an expert at everything from open-circuit to rebreathers, and the personalized service is better than the bigger operations. If you’re planning on Cayman diving, I recommend you try ’em out.

$750 MILLION for blackmail?

Now that our host is back, relaxed, and ready to retake the reins, I wanted to put up a final post to say thanks to Glenn for letting me fill in for him. Also thanks to you, his readers, for your informative and interesting feedback over the last week.

I’ve had a great time.

You can catch me daily at Reason’s blog or my personal blog. Those of you with extra, extra short attention spans can follow me on Twitter. Tchuss!

GOVERNMENT ASSISTED THUGGERY? D.C. Metro Police Escorted SEIU Protesters to Bank Of America Executive’s Home. “Meanwhile, a teenage boy is home alone, frightened by what’s happening outside his front door.”

When tea-partiers show up on politicians’ doorsteps — and they will — I don’t want to hear any talk of “fascist tactics.” We’re already seeing that, and the press and pundit class, for the most part, doesn’t care. Just remember, every act sets a precedent.

Related: “They are the feral vanguard of a collapsing system, using violence and intimidation to make it clear those not favorably connected to the political power structure will be sacrificed to preserve it, for as long as possible.”

UPDATE: D.C. Police Union denies reports of a police escort.
