HMM: Fed Won’t Join Bank Supreme Court Appeal on Loan Disclosures. “The Federal Reserve won’t join a banking industry trade group in asking the U.S. Supreme Court to let the government continue to withhold details of emergency loans made to financial firms in 2008.”

WOW: BREAKING: Ethics Foundation Requests A.G. Holder to Investigate Barbara Boxer. “In a breaking development that may affect the close California Senate race, Pajamas Media has learned The Foundation for Ethics in Public Service sent a letter to Eric Holder last Thursday requesting the attorney general ‘begin an investigation to determine whether United States Senator Barbara Boxer violated any criminal laws or should be liable for any civil penalty for failure to disclose real property on her Personal Financial Disclosure Reports between 2002 and 2010.'”

ED KOCH: The Coming Political Tsunami. “Why when looking at Obama’s cabinet and advisers, do we see the faces of those who many hold responsible for the economic debacle?”

NOBELISTS UNITE: “Fifteen past winners of the Nobel Peace Prize have issued a letter to Chinese president Hu Jintao, asking that the newest winner, Liu Xiaobo, be released from his 11-year prison sentence, and that his wife, Liu Xia, be freed from de-facto house arrest. . . . Notably absent is a 2007 winner. I would love to have heard whatever discussion occurred between Desmond Tutu and that Laureate (OK, I’m talking about Al Gore) leading to the latter’s decision not to become the 16th signer.” Al Gore values his good relationship with the Chinese government.

MEGAN MCARDLE: “Like so many of his students, Henry’s problem isn’t that he isn’t bright; it’s that he doesn’t do his homework thoroughly.” Megan’s charity does her credit.

TIMOTHY DALRYMPLE: Tea Started Brewing Under Bush. “The tea started brewing under Bush. It’s important that Democrats and Republicans alike understand this. Democrats know that they are about to suffer a rebuke of historic proportions, but it’s important they understand the reason and not imagine themselves the victims of racism or irrationality. And it’s important for Republicans to understand that their legacy of government growth and deficit spending is also suffering rebuke.”

A ONE-DAY-ONLY SALE: Andy Griffith: The Complete Series.

UPDATE: Reader Jim Breed writes: “Does the Andy Griffith series have the episode where Andy approves as Dr. Obama gives Aunt Bea the blue pill?” Heh.

And reader Paul Beardsleee writes: “I always enjoy seeing your pointers to Amazon deals. I think I’ll pass on the Andy Griffith Show boxed set. Seeing ‘Sheriff Taylor’ shill for Obamacare makes me wonder whether Barney Fife needs to go all Serpico on his boss.” Well, there was always a pretty sharp distinction between the character Andy Taylor and the actor Andy Griffith.

POLL: INDEPENDENTS SIDING WITH GOP. “Expressing deep dissatisfaction with President Obama’s policies and performance, independents have increasingly sided with conservatives in the belief that government grew too large, too fast under Obama—and that it can no longer be trusted. In the final pre-election Battleground Poll, Republicans hold a 14-point edge among independents and lead overall, 47 percent to 42 percent, in the generic ballot match up. The swing among independents rivals the emergence of the spirited Tea Party movement as one of the most important changes in American politics over the past 20 months.” Well, they’re kinda related. . . . .

ED DRISCOLL: They told me that if I voted John McCain, I’d be electing a president so polarizing, that he would tell half the country “they can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back” — and they were right!

Yeah, like I said before, his rhetoric is sounding pretty racially-charged these days for a “post-racial President.” What’s his 2012 slogan going to be? “Get Whitey — Vote Obama?” At this rate, yeah. . . .

UPDATE: Obama to Kids: Stop the Bullying; Obama to Latinos: Punish Your Enemies. “We could take this seriously if his thugs from the unions didn’t casually go around beating up people.” Well, we can take the “punish your enemies” seriously. He clearly means that.

ANOTHER UPDATE: “We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us.”

This kind of inflammatory rhetoric is dangerous. I don’t think we’ve ever seen its like from a sitting President.

And reader Jeff Johnson emails: “I’m surprised Obama hasn’t gone full Conan with respect to this election: (What is best in life?): ‘To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.'”

BLOWBACK: NPR Affiliate Managers Voice Discontent with Firing of Juan Williams. “Executives at NPR affiliate stations across the United States have begun publicly voicing discontent in the aftermath of the network’s dismissal of news analyst Juan Williams, with several station managers openly questioning the actions and judgment of NPR President and CEO Vivian Schiller.”

VOTER FRAUD WATCH: Allegations of Poll Worker Misconduct in Harris County, Texas. “Allegations surfaced last week of SEIU union members loitering within 100′ of a polling place wearing their union member shirts (there is video of several SEIU purple shirts loitering around a voting center at the link). That occurred at Ripley House, a community center serving as a polling place. Now, there is an additional allegation that poll workers within the polling place itself have told at least one voter that he must vote Democrat at that location. If true, that’s clearly against the law. This is from an email that contains several allegations that have been forwarded to the Harris County Attorney’s Office.”
