YEAH, MOSTLY: “Almost every time I’ve talked to a reporter has gone this way: they had already decided the narrative beforehand.” I can think of some exceptions to this, but not a whole lot.
UPDATE: A reader’s comment about dealing with the press in Iraq reminds me of Toby Harnden’s reporting on the reporters.
Harnden, by the way, has a new book out, Dead Men Risen: An Epic Story of War and Heroism in Afghanistan. Worth a read, I think.
