TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): Female educators caught having sex with students more frequently, experts say.

Some have downplayed or even laughed off the seriousness of female educators having sex with teenage students, playing into the trope of hormone-driven boys lusting after the women at the front of the class.

But many prosecutors and people who work with the abused say female teachers having sex with male students are doing just as much harm as their male counterparts who prey on girls.

But note the double standard on punishment:

In Stark County, Eichler pleaded guilty last year to three felony counts of sexual battery.

Prosecutors asked a judge to sentence her to four years in prison, but the judge thought Eichler — who surrendered her teaching license and will forever have to register with authorities as a sex offender — had largely suffered enough.

He sentenced her to 30 days in jail and another 30 days in what Stark County calls “half-jail,” a sort of day detention room for adults.

One doubts a male teacher would have gotten the same consideration.

In her plea agreement, Felicia Williams-Watson agreed to serve four years of probation.”

I doubt a man would have gotten off with probation.

She said Sparrow was aware of the student’s age, problems at home, and ‘fragile mental state,’ which made him more vulnerable.”

The X-rated video surfaced as Texas Rangers investigated Hagan for her relationship with another inmate.”

Kristen D. Grow, 39, of 5184 Pleasant Valley Road, Newark, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony in Licking County Common Pleas Court Thursday morning. . . . Grow was the fifth school employee Licking County has prosecuted for similar crimes, Sawyers said.”

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): 2018 Sex Scandal Teacher Starting Lineup.

In 300 B.C., Aristotle famously said, “Those that know, do. Those that understand, teach.” In 1933, Albert Einstein said, “Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty.” And in 2018, 53-year-old teacher Deborah Lowe said to her 15-year-old student, “Who else can I be a slut with?”

Who else, indeed? That time is upon us once again. When we look back at the year just past in Sex Scandal Teachers, a tradition truly unlike any other.

As far as I can tell, the first Sex Scandal Teacher Starting Lineup was back in 2009. Like I’ve mentioned before, I thought to myself, “Gee, there’s been a lot of crazy teachers sleeping with their students lately,” and just to put a sports spin on it, organized them into a batting order. I figured it would be a one-off thing. Because surely there couldn’t be an endless supply of these stories, like the sex-crazed educator version of the unlimited, refillable fountain drink. But how wrong I was. A day or two later, a Stoolie emailed me one I’d missed. Then came another. And another. So I made Grading the Newest Sex Scandal Teacher into a regular feature, with a lineup at the end of the year.

And there’s never a shortage of material.

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (FEMALE RAPE-CULTURE EDITION): Teacher who had sex with student should get off easy because he wanted it: lawyers.

Peterson, who previously taught at New Smyrna Beach Middle School, pleaded guilty in October to lewd and lascivious battery sex act with a child and electronic transmission of material harmful to minors, admitting that she had sex with an eighth-grader in her car and gave him oral sex in her home and in a barn behind his home between November 2017 and last January, court documents show.

Peterson could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison if convicted of both felonies at trial, but she now faces between five and 10 years behind bars when she’s sentenced Wednesday at a courthouse in DeLand.

As part of that plea deal, Peterson’s attorneys will be allowed to seek a lesser sentence for the disgraced former teacher, and one of the reasons they cited is that the teen victim was a “willing participant” in the sexual assaults, during which he was legally unable to provide consent under state law.

But at least one law professor contacted by the newspaper disagreed with that strategy, since the legal age of consent in the Sunshine State is 18.

“The child is below the age of legal consent for sexual activity with an adult, so the fact that they were a willing participant, in my mind, is actually an escalator,” Stetson College of Law Professor Charlie Rose told the newspaper. “It’s an indication that perhaps the child was manipulated into engaging in sexual activity. It does not make the crime less culpable.”

To be honest, I think 18 is a bit high as the age of consent, but no male teacher would get less time with a “Your Honor, she wanted it!” argument regarding an eighth grader, and sauce for the goose. . .

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): Newly released text messages show how married sixth-grade teacher, 27, lured her student into midnight sexual romps. “According to police, Zamora had sex with the student on at least four occasions, from about February 1 to March 8 – including performing oral sex on him in a classroom and in her car. . . . After one of their trysts, the boy sent Zamora a text saying he wanted to have sex with her again. This was her response: ‘I know baby! I want you every day with no time limit…If I could quit my job and (have sex with) you all day long, I would.'”

She could have faced up to 25 years if convicted on those charges during a trial.”

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): ‘Vastly ashamed,’ Minnesota woman gets 10 years for sex with N.D. student, illicit photos and videos. “A former West Fargo middle school teacher who pleaded guilty to having sex with a student and sharing illicit photos and videos with students was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison. . . . Moser, 38, was charged in July with eight felony counts involving six different victims. She pleaded guilty on Aug. 27 to six of the eight charges including sexual assault, gross sexual imposition, and four counts of luring minors by computer. The remaining two charges were dismissed. On the gross sexual imposition charge, which claimed she had sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy, Moser faced at least five years in prison, the minimum sentence, or up to life in prison, the maximum sentence for the crime.”
