WHY ARE DEMOCRAT-MONOPOLY CITIES SUCH CESSPITS OF SEXUAL PREDATION? Seattle Mayor Ed Murray to resign following multiple accusations of sexual abuse:

The news came after a fifth person reportedly came forward to accuse Murray of sexual abuse — Murray’s younger cousin, who alleges that Murray repeatedly molested him in the 1970s.

Curiously, this Fox News article doesn’t name Murray’s political party, but Seattle’s last Republican mayor left office before the Beatles broke up.

WHY ARE DEMOCRAT-RUN CITIES AND GUN CONTROLLERS SUCH CESSPITS OF CORRUPTION? One officer left standing after indictments of Baltimore Gun Trace Task Force members.

Baltimore Police Det. John Clewell worked nearly two years on the department’s gun trace task force — an elite unit that raided homes throughout the city searching for firearms in an effort to quell historic rates of violence.

We’re “the ‘make stuff happen’ police,” Clewell told a Northeast Baltimore couple whose apartment he raided in April 2015, according to his own account of the incident in charging documents.

Now Clewell is the only member of the task force who has not been indicted on federal racketeering charges.

The rest of the unit has been accused of robbing suspects, filing false paperwork and committing overtime fraud. Seven members were indicted by a federal grand jury in March; an eighth was indicted in August.

I forget: How many members of Bloomberg’s mayors-against-guns group wound up in jail?

WHY ARE DEMOCRAT-RUN CITIES SUCH CESSPITS OF RACIAL VIOLENCE AND DECLINE? How the riots of 50 years ago changed Detroit: The city’s decline began before 1967, but the violence then made it worse. “Sadly, by most measures black Detroiters are considerably worse off today than they were in 1967.” The rioters were presented as the vanguard of social justice, even though the consequences of their actions fell on the poorest and weakest.

Detroit’s last Republican mayor . . . well, you know the rest.

WHY ARE DEMOCRAT-MONOPOLY CITIES SUCH CESSPITS OF VIOLENCE? A longtime Insta-reader from Chicago explains one huge reason why:

As you are aware, the murder rate in Chicago soared in 2016 and this year it is well on its way to equal last year’s numbers.  There have been a couple of recent cases where they have arrested people for selling guns to the gangs.  The appalling part of the stories are the way the courts are dealing with these cases.  I stumbled onto this one today through [a blog called Second City Cop]:

Man who sold gun used to shoot 2 cops released on $4,500 bond: sources.

There was another case where a woman was sentenced to probation for selling guns to a man with gang ties:

Mount Prospect woman gets probation for illegal gun sales.

Police: Woman with FOID card bought and sold guns for profit.

And as the long-running Chicago-area blog NewsAlert notes, Mayor Rahm Emanuel stands ready to take full national credit for his city’s stunning success: Rahm Emanuel May Run For President in 2020. “One source claims Rahm is very realistic and knows it is not likely he can win the Democrat party nomination: so his ultimate goal is to get the VP nomination. Stay tuned…”

I’d make the usual “Run, Rahm, Run!” jokes, but to be fair, his drafting of leftist “crash test dummies” to pose as centrist “Blue Dog” Democrats for the 2006 midterms was a huge strategic success for his party — and a disaster for the rest of us, leading to Nancy Pelosi as speaker, runaway gas prices, the Great Recession, Obama in the White House, and the Democrats’ passing of Obamacare on a party-line basis.

WHY ARE DEMOCRAT MONOPOLY CITIES SUCH CESSPITS OF VIOLENCE? BART takeover robbery: 40 to 60 teens swarm train in Oakland station, rob weekend riders:

According to a police officials, witnesses said 40 to 60 juveniles flooded the station, jumped the fare gates and rushed to the second-story train platform. Some of the robbers apparently held open the doors of a Dublin-bound train car while others streamed inside, confronting and robbing and in some cases beating riders.

The juveniles “committed multiple strong-arm robberies of bags and cell phones,” said a police summary prepared after the incident. “At least two victims suffered head/facial injuries requiring medical attention.”

Alicia Trost, a BART spokeswoman, said Monday that seven robberies had occurred — with victims losing a purse, a duffel bag and five phones. Six people were robbed inside the train car, with a seventh confronted on the platform, she said.

WHY ARE DEMOCRAT-MONOPOLY CITIES SUCH CESSPITS OF VANDALISM? End of an era, again: Genova closes Oakland ravioli factory:

Four generations of the family had worked in the factory and in the deli since the businesses opened on Telegraph Avenue in 1926, when Temescal was an Italian enclave. But after vandalism during protests and rising rents, the family decided to close the deli in April 2016.

It appears vandalism also played a role in closing the factory, which was relocated to Broadway across the street from Oakland Technical High School after the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake.

Patti DeVincenzi said one bill to fix the factory’s windows cost $15,000.

“We had planned to open a ravioli direct to customer operation from our factory on 4300 Broadway but with so much vandalism and graffiti we just couldn’t take it anymore,” she said in an email. “Recently, I was out scraping graffiti from the windows and was threatened from a group of youths from across the street that ‘tomorrow there will be more.’ And worse. And to be sure it was done, (they) actually etched into the windows.”

WHY ARE DEMOCRAT-RUN CITIES SUCH CESSPITS OF ELECTORAL MISBEHAVIOR? Philadelphia Republicans Claim Voter Intimidation, Voter Fraud.

The answer, of course, is because there are no consequences. I hope that President Trump’s Department of Justice will put more energy into ensuring voter access and ballot integrity than we’ve seen in recent years.
