CHANGE: As Americans bargain shop, six-figure earners flock to Walmart. “Walmart said it gained market share last quarter, driven ‘primarily from upper-income households.’ Households making more than $100,000 a year accounted for 75% of the company’s gains.”
KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Trump Tags In Linda McMahon to Body Slam Dept. of Education. “School choice is anathema to the Democrats, who are completely beholden to the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association. McMahon’s advocacy for school choice will have the Dems finishing off whatever Prilosec they may have left after the election.”
BRITONS ELECT COMMUNISTS, DISCOVER COMMUNISM ISN’T SO GREAT, ACTUALLY: Thousands of British farmers protest against ‘tractor tax’ on inheritance.
The measure, dubbed the tractor tax by critics and announced in the new government’s budget last month as it sought to raise funds, has drawn an angry backlash from farmers who say the ruling Labour Party does not understand rural communities.
The protesters held placards stating “no farmers, no food, no future” and “Starmer the farmer harmer”, in reference to Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Police estimated about 10,000 protesters took part.
Farmer Emma Robinson, 44, said she was “absolutely livid” and would take part in measures to disrupt food supplies if the government did not back down.
Robinson said her farm in northwest England had been in her family for 500 years and she was going to pass it on to her children.
“It’s being taken out of my hands by someone that’s been in parliament for literally days,” she said.
The passing of farms down through generations was tax-free, but under the policy set out by finance minister Rachel Reeves, from 2026, 20% tax would be paid on the value of a farm above 1 million pounds.
Existing personal allowances, which a married couple can combine, takes the threshold for a farm and associated property up to 3 million pounds.
Farmers say that while their land and machinery has a high value, the farms themselves have low profit margins, meaning their children would have to sell land to cover the tax bill.
Easy call: the buyers will be well-connected.

COLD WAR II: Finland urges NATO, EU to shield critical networks after undersea cables damaged.
Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen said Tuesday that NATO and the European Union must raise their game to protect themselves from hybrid threats and defend undersea cables from attack.
“NATO and [the] EU have to do a lot more to protect this critical infrastructure,” Häkkänen told POLITICO following the EU Foreign Affairs Council (defense format) in Brussels, adding that the topic had been discussed during the meeting.
Häkkänen’s remarks follow a Monday announcement by Finnish network company Cinia that it is investigating damage to an undersea internet cable connecting Santahamina, near Helsinki, to Rostock, Germany. The incident sparked political concern in both Berlin and Helsinki.
Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on Tuesday referred to the damage as “sabotage.”
“We know that Russia has [the] capability and willingness to do sabotage in Europe,” Häkkänen told POLITICO.
But was it Russia?

CRANKY OLD MAN ATTACKS FRIEND:
In a candid closed-door meeting, Prime Minister Netanyahu shared explosive details of alleged threats he received from U.S. leaders over the past year.
“President Biden called me before the operation in Rafah and warned, ‘Prime Minister Netanyahu, if you proceed, you will be left on your own,’” Netanyahu recounted.
“My response was clear and resolute,” he continued. “‘Then we will handle it on our own.’”
Netanyahu revealed that just two days later, Secretary of State Antony Blinken delivered a follow-up warning: “You will not receive any further military aid.”
Undeterred, Netanyahu said he fired back: “We will fight with our hands and claws if we must. We will not compromise on Rafah.”
According to the Prime Minister, American officials had warned of catastrophic casualties in the operation, predicting up to 20,000 deaths. “That claim turned out to be a complete fabrication,” he said, underscoring his refusal to back down under pressure.
I’m so old, I remember when Joe Biden was going to restore our tattered alliances.
PUTINFLATION: Russia economy crumbling with food prices skyrocketing as Putin’s problems mount.
Currently, a kilogram of potatoes is at least 73% more expensive than at the start of the year, while the price of butter has increased by more than 30%, according to data released by the Federal Statistics Service on Thursday.
Russia had already experienced rising food prices before this years surge, as Western sanctions, including restrictions on imports, increased the price of staple items including milk, bread and fish.
Other areas have been hit too, with a 64% rise in inflation, mortgage rates rising to more than 28% and interest rates reaching a record high of 21% last month.
Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov has ordered an investigation into price increases and has pledged to provide a response to placate growing public disquiet.
The people who caused inflation are always the first to demand an investigation into who really caused it and the last (if ever) to admit it was them.
It’s the Hot Dog guy sketch but instead of crashing into a clothing store, it’s politicians crashing the economy.

IT WOULD TAKE A HEART OF STONE NOT TO LAUGH: DNC union rips leadership for laying off employees without severance. “According to the statement, staff working on Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz’s (D-MN) presidential campaign were provided with three weeks of severance. The DNC union letter said that to its employees, unlike Harris-Walz staffers, DNC senior leadership chose to ‘leave loyal staff scrambling to cover rent, medical expenses, and childcare costs.'”
It’s a shame what’s happened to loyal employees but the cruel hypocrisy on the part of the DNC is almost as funny as it is predictable.

THE FUTURE IS NOW: Killer Robots Are About to Fill Ukrainian Skies.
In a front-line dugout this spring, a Ukrainian drone navigator selected a target—a Russian ammunition truck—by tapping it on a tablet screen with a stylus. The pilot flicked a switch on his handset to select autopilot and then watched the drone swoop down from a few hundred yards away and hit the vehicle.
“Let it burn,” said one of the team, as they observed a plume of smoke on a video feed from a reconnaissance drone.
Strikes like this represent a big advance in Ukraine’s attempts to use computers to help it combat Russia’s huge army. The drone that carried it out was controlled in the final attack phase by a small onboard computer designed by the U.S.-based company Auterion. Several other companies, many of them Ukrainian, have successfully tested similar autopilot systems on the battlefield.
Now, an even bigger breakthrough looms: mass-produced automated drones. In a significant step not previously reported, Ukraine’s drone suppliers are ramping up output of robot attack drones to an industrial scale, not just prototypes.
Enabling the upshift is producers’ successful integration of inexpensive computers into sophisticated, compact systems that replicate capabilities previously found only in far pricier equipment.
“None of this is new,” said Auterion founder and chief executive Lorenz Meier. “The difference is the price.”
Indeed. It’s also the exact opposite of how the US has approached procurement for 25 years or more.
The real beneficiary may prove to be Taiwan, however. They’ll likely be on their own in case of war with China, given that our Navy seems unready to fight much further west than Midway.
COLD WAR II IS NOT OFF TO A GOOD START: Hillary Clinton’s Uranium Giveaway to Russia Is About to Bite Us on the… You Know.
The good news is that nuclear power — safe, clean, affordable, and carbon-free — has been coming back in a big way here in the USA in recent months. The weird news is that it’s generally left-leaning tech firms and AI’s ravenous need for electricity leading the charge (SWIDT?) to build new nuclear power plants or spin shuttered ones back up.
The bad news is that the voters of this country were twice reckless enough to put people like Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Hillary Clinton in charge — and now Russia is putting the kibosh on the uranium exports we need for nuclear power.

IRAN: Ahoo Dariyaei’s Revolution.
If they arrest you, what awaits is quite often rape, torture, and death. Most are beaten to death, but if there has been resistance or other to raise the stakes, they can be hung. Keep in mind that rape is a tool, and one mandated years ago by the Ayatollah who decreed that female prisoners of any age were to be raped before execution so they would go to hell and not to heaven. No joke. If you want to learn the horrors that await those who defy these animals, there is plenty out there for you to look up. No, not linking as this is something you need to look up and see for yourself, so that it can’t be dismissed as mere propaganda.
Which brings us back to this young lady, Ahoo Dariyaei. Watch the video. She was attacked, fought back, and then they were surprised. Look at her face, at the anger there, as she raised the stakes on them. Then watch her as she realizes where she is at in terms of choices. You see the anger, the fear, and then the determination. She very clearly knows what awaits (rape, torture, death most likely), and steps forward anyway. She makes a choice, and though she is scared, she steps up and out anyway. That is the choice of a martyr, a willing sacrifice.
Her act spread like wildfire, and was such a threat that the mad mullahs did something unusual.
Can’t stop the signal.
AUDIT THEM HARDER: Over 800 IRS employees owe millions in back taxes after audits pushed by Ernst.
Over 800 Internal Revenue Service employees still owe millions in back taxes despite heavy criticism from Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), who is hoping the level of tax waste will be squashed by billionaire Elon Musk, the newly tapped co-leader of the Department of Government Efficiency.
In a letter to the Iowa senator sent on Nov. 8 and shared exclusively with the Washington Examiner, the IRS noted that of the 2,044 employees who reported having balances totaling more than $12 million, 860 employees still have not paid overdue taxes. Only 20 of the 70 employees who “willfully evaded” paying their taxes were removed.
“We haven’t seen a tax revolt like this since the Boston Tea Party,” Ernst said in a statement. “If hardworking Americans dodge taxes, they are faced with steep fines and imprisonment, but it appears that tax collectors in Washington believe those rules are for thee but not for me.”
Ernst would make for a very Trump-47-like pick to head up the IRS…

MATT TAIBBI: How America’s Accurate Election Polls Were Covered Up.
John McIntyre couldn’t believe it. The publisher of the Real Clear Polling National Average, America’s first presidential poll aggregator, woke on October 31st to see his product denounced in the New York Times. Launched in 2002 and long a mainstay of campaign writers and news consumers alike, the RCP average, he learned, was part of a “torrent” of partisan rubbish being “weaponized” to “deflate Democrats’ enthusiasm” and “undermine faith in the entire system.”
“They actually wrote that our problem was we didn’t weight results,” says an incredulous McIntyre. “That we didn’t put a thumb on the scale.”
The Times ended its screed against RCP’s “scarlet-dominated” electoral map projection by quoting John Anzalone, Joe Biden’s former chief pollster, who said: “There’s a ton of garbage polls out there.” But being called “garbage” in America’s paper of record was nothing compared to what happened to RCP at Wikipedia.
Six months ago, when former Wikipedia chief Katherine Maher became CEO of NPR, video emerged of her talking about strategies at Wikipedia. She said the company eventually abandoned its “free and open” mantra when she realized “this radical openness… did not end up living into the intentionality of what openness can be.” Free and open “recapitulated” too many of the same “power structures,” resulting in too much emphasis on the “Western canon,” the “written tradition,” and “this white male, Westernized construct around who matters.”
