But: “Good job! But it came too late; if it had happened 20 years ago, it would have solved many problems. For today’s Sweden, only remigration will solve it. The immigrant population of non-European origin accounts for 16%, one of the top 5 highest in Europe.”

NO ENEMIES TO THE LEFT, NOT EVEN ACTUAL NAZIS:

DAVID MARCUS: How Democrats sneaked in reparations, and how they’ll protect them.

The battle over reparations for racial minorities in the United States has grown somewhat quiet in recent years, but it’s not because proponents of it have surrendered. It’s because they have already won.

The list of ways in which our government redistributes wealth to minorities is long, as you’ll see below, but first, it’s worth paying attention to something that Democratic strategist James Carville said recently.

Referring to packing the Supreme Court and making Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico states, should Democrats retake power, the cagey old Cajun said, “Don’t run on it. Don’t talk about it. Just do it.”

I posit that this is precisely what Democrats have done in regard to reparations.

AND YET, EVENTUALLY OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY DOES RUN OUT:

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Elizabeth Warren’s Commie Dreams Just Killed 17,000 Jobs. “Just like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did when she killed an Amazon project in New York City, Warren celebrated her efforts that would eventually lead to the loss of tens of thousands of jobs. They say they’re champions of working Americans, but they really don’t care if we’re starving or not.”

DISTRUST OF EDUCATORS CORRELATES WITH INCREASED FACTUAL KNOWLEDGE:

HMM: Reclassification of marijuana opens doors for much‑needed medical research into the benefits and risks of the drug.

For decades, researchers have struggled to conduct high-quality research studies due to their lack of access to the cannabis products that patients actually use and restrictions on their processes.

With the reclassification, researchers who are registered with the DEA to research cannabis will be able to obtain cannabis flower and plant material, as well as manufactured cannabis products, such as tinctures and edibles, directly from state-licensed businesses that are DEA-registered.

This means researchers will no longer need to rely on the federal DEA registry for access to cannabis products for research, which were often inferior in quality and variety in comparison to the everyday products medical cannabis patients typically have access to. Instead, they will be able to study cannabis products that patients use in daily life, such as vapes and various edible products.

This shift in access will now allow researchers to undertake the gold standard of research approaches: the randomized controlled trial.

Based on everything we’ve since since legalization at the state level, don’t expect much.

CONGRATS, THE VALUE OF YOUR EXISTING HOME IN MASSACHUSETTS JUST INCREASED ANOTHER $25,000:

CHANGE: Patel says FBI has cut bureaucracy, moved 1,000 agents to field offices in ‘generational’ overhaul.

In just 14 months, the FBI claims it has carried out a “generational” shakeup that has cut bureaucracy, shifted agents into the field and embraced artificial intelligence in what FBI Director Kash Patel calls a long-overdue effort to restore trust and sharpen its focus on protecting Americans.

In a draft of a letter from Patel to the FBI workforce obtained by Fox News, the director wrote that the bureau has delivered on changes FBI employees have been requesting for years, transforming the FBI into a premier modern-day law enforcement organization.

The overhaul has included a significant redistribution of personnel away from Washington, D.C., according to Patel, with more than 1,000 agents and staff reassigned to field offices and hundreds of intelligence personnel moved closer to active investigations.

It’s amazing that when it comes to government, a “generational” overhaul just looks like common sense to most everybody else.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE, MOVE ALONG:

THE DEMOCRATS AREN’T SENDING THEIR BEST:

Or maybe they are.

THAT’LL BE THE DAY I GO BACK TO ANNANDALE: Doomsday for California as last barrel of oil from the Middle East arrives in Long Beach.

Hong Kong’s ship New Corolla, which loaded up on oil in February, will soon depart, and the state will have to figure out how to make up for 200,000 barrels of oil a day it got from the Middle East.

California is particularly vulnerable in this situation, as its status as an isolated energy island without gas pipelines has led it to increasingly rely on imports.

A few weeks ago, a number of Democratic and Republican state lawmakers sounded the alarm on the impending emergency — and blasted California’s energy authorities for not having a plan.

ā€œWe are demanding an emergency plan to deal with this fuel crisis,ā€ Assemblymember David Alvarez (D) said at a press conference.

Have you tried allowing offshore drilling and maybe not driving the refineries out of business?

WELFARE SHOULD SUCK:

DISPATCHES FROM THE BLUE ZONES: Quixote Studios Lays Off 70, Winds Down L.A. Locations Amid Production Slump.

Hudson Pacific Properties bought the company in 2022 for $360 million, but has since had to write down the entire value of its Quixote unit due to heavy operating losses.

ā€œObviously, clearly it was not the best deal we’ve ever done, but if you compare that to everything else we’ve done, then we’re doing okay,ā€ said Victor Coleman, the chairman and CEO of Hudson Pacific, at an investor conference in March. ā€œWe think that we have multiple alternatives with that asset that we can make it zero or at least flat at the end of the year.ā€

Quixote is kind of a big deal in L.A., where film and TV production jobs are down something like 40% from post-COVID highs.

NYC Mayor Mamdani’s latest pitch to tax the rich “not happening,” Gov. Kathy Hochul says.

The budget battle between New York City and New York state lawmakers is intensifying.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and City Council Speaker Julie Menin are calling for a new way to tax the rich. They want the state to reduce something called the Pass-Through Equity Tax credit, aka PTET.

“The PTET is essentially a loophole that allows high-income earners to reduce their federal tax burden,” Mamdani said.

Menin joined the mayor in calling for the new revenue stream, which could mean another $1 billion to help close the city’s budget gap.

Gov. Kathy Hochul slammed the door on their proposal.

“That’s not happening,” Hochul said. “We are not changing PTET.”

Hochul seems smarter than Mamdani in that she knows when the sheep won’t take any more fleecing.

HMM: United flight from SFO disrupted by ‘possible drone strike.’ “The pilots aboard United flight 1980 reported the strike prior to arriving at San Diego International Airport around 8:30 a.m. The airline said the flight landed safely and the 48 passengers deplaned without interference. A maintenance check found no damage on the aircraft.”
