JAMES CARVILLE: Democrats Will Win In 2028, Congress Will Increase Supreme Court Justices From 9 to 13.
A Democrat is going to be elected in 2028. You know that, I know that. It’s going to be a Democratic House.
It’s going to be a Democratic Senate. The Democratic president is going to announce a special transition advisory committee on the reform of the Supreme Court that we could have our third branch of government has lost the faith and trust of the American people. And his president is going to do everything in the law.
He’s going to point a blue ribbon, maybe Judge Ludick and the dean of the, you know, just the usual fucking suspects. All right. And they’re going to recommend that the number of Supreme Court justices go from nine to 13.
That’s going to happen, people. That’s going to happen to you. They’re going to win.
And just like 2016, 2020, and 2024, the goal is to effectively make the country a one-party state.
VIDEO: Elon Musk On The Homeless Industrial Complex. “You see these videos of people that are just shuffling, they’re on fentanyl. They’re taking a dump in the middle of the street, and they’ve got like open sores and stuff. They’re not like one job offer away from getting back on their feet.”
JAMIE K WILSON: Born Perfect: The Girlboss and the Death of Growth. “She was the girl in school who treated advice as an insult, who corrected the teacher, who surrounded herself with friends chanting ‘You go, girl!’ while everyone else waited for the lesson that never came. That is the girlboss story. It looks like empowerment, but it’s arrested development in high heels, the pretense of heroism without the pilgrimage.”
THE NEW SPACE RACE: China breaks annual launch record with VLEO Chutian and Shiyan technology test launches. “The pair of launches were China’s 69th and 70th orbital launches of 2025, meaning the country surpassed its previous record for launch attempts in a calendar year of 68, set in 2024, with nearly two months remaining in the year.”
So about half of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 orbital launches for 2025.
DEAR YOUNG AMERICANS: I’m Begging You Not to Take Trump’s 50-Year Mortgage.
FUNNY HOW THAT WORKS:
All of the Democrats who called it a “Republican shutdown” seem pretty mad that 8 Democrats voted to open the government.

SO NOW THEY TELL US: Now It Can Be Told: Mamdani’s Plans Are Going to Be Wildly Expensive. “Zohran Mamdani won his race to become the next mayor of New York City on Tuesday. On Thursday the NY Times published a story explaining just how expensive his plans for the city will be.”
Let’s start with free child care:
The biggest plan, by far, is free universal child care. The city already offers free preschool for all 4-year-olds and many 3-year-olds.
Expanding child care to infants and to toddlers under 3 would be a major challenge. Mr. Mamdani’s administration would have to create new day care facilities and hire scores of child care workers.
Mr. Mamdani’s campaign estimated that this could cost $6 billion annually.
The Mamdani estimate is roughly equal to the annual cost of the NYPD, the largest police department in the United States. But it’s important to note that no one really knows what this will cost. One left-wing group has estimated the cost for NYC could be as little as $2.5 billion per year but other estimates of the cost of expanding a program like his to the entire state come in at $12.7 billion to $20 billion per year. Just shy of half the state’s population lives in New York City so the cost of Mamdani’s plan could range from $6 billion up to $9 billion per year. Again, no one knows because the cost is dependent on a lot of factors including the wages paid to the caretakers.
Much more at the link, including this gem: “His new tax will make taxes from the city and state about as high as federal taxes.”

BLUE CITY BLUES: NYPD already losing officers with morale plunging as anti-cop Zohran Mamdani prepares to take reins.
The NYPD saw a 35% hike in cops of all ranks leaving in October – 245 police officers compared to 181 in the same month last year, according to Police Pension Fund data.
“Morale is down because everyone is concerned about the policies Mamdani wants to put in place,” said Detectives Endowment Association President Scott Munro.
“You have a person who is supposed to be running New York City that does not believe in law enforcement,” said Munro, a police officer for more than three decades. “What’s coming out of everyone’s mouth is, ‘We’re in trouble.’”
Whether more cops leave in the coming months will depend on the “Tisch factor,” a police union source said.
“If she leaves it may result in an uptick,” the source said. “If she stays, maybe not.”
The Police Benevolent Association, which will have to negotiate a new contract with Mamdani, bemoaned that the number of cops leaving could get worse.
“Every single month, we’re losing enough cops to staff an entire precinct,” PBA President Patrick Hendry said.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Schumer’s Shutdown Did Not Go Well for Him. “The Chuckster doesn’t play hardball as well as some of his predecessors in Senate leadership. Over on the House side of things, Hakeem Jefferies isn’t any sharper. The Democrats rushed into this shutdown driving a clown car with no brakes.”
NO THANK YOU: Trump considering shake-up to housing market by offering 50-year mortgages and not just 30-year terms. “The 50-year mortgage could be a boon to families looking to buy with soaring housing costs. It would lower their monthly payments significantly – but would make payments for two decades longer than the standard 30-year term.”
How about we build more houses?
UPDATE (FROM GLENN): 50 year mortgages are not what we need. I asked Grok the difference in interest between a 30 year and 50 year mortgage on a $400,000 house at 6.25 percent. Answer:

Of course people won’t keep a house for 50 years usually, but this is basically something close to an interest-only mortgage. That’s not the solution.

COLONIALISM: British Islamism is flexing its muscles more and more openly as it rises to power.
How must Sir Keir Starmer have felt after vowing to do all he could to reverse the ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, only to have been humiliated at the hands of the mob? Last month, the Prime Minister declared that the chant “from the river to the sea” was unequivocally antisemitic. What would he say about “death, death to the IDF” as it rang off the pavements of Birmingham?
How must the 700 police officers have felt as they struggled to contain the brazen antisemitism which originated in Pakistan and other foreign climes and was imported into Britain during decades of reckless immigration? Talk about diversity; in Birmingham, the mob appeared almost exclusively Muslim and hostile. How have we done this to ourselves – or had it done to us?
The crowd with the blood of Jews in its nostrils flew many flags tonight: that of Palestine, that of Lebanon, that of Kashmir. One that was notable by its absence was the flag of Great Britain.
As the Israeli prime minister pointed out in an interview recently, try asking these masked activists for their views on our country and indeed the West as a whole. What you will soon discover is that their hatred for the Jewish state is simply the tip of a spear that is headed for the heart of our culture. Look at their past attitude towards the statue of Winston Churchill, the cenotaph and our Union flag. Allahu Akhbar, they screamed through megaphones. Allahu Akhbar!
From the heart of the Middle East, Israel does a better job — a much better job — at defending and promoting Western interests than the British government does in Britain.
The former, I suspect, is the main reason so much of the Left hates Israel.
ROBERT SPENCER: Trump Administration Wants to Deport Gang Member Abrego Garcia to This Vacationland. “Soon Abrego Garcia, the mild-mannered ‘Maryland man’ of the mainstream media, was back in the United States, where he became a hero of the anti-Trump, anti-American left. Still, the Trump team did not give up on its efforts to send him out of the country for good. On Friday, the Justice Department asked U.S. District Court Judge Paula Xinis to approve the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Liberia, and really, who could possibly object?”

IT’S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME — AND MAYBE NOT THAT MUCH: Space Force astronauts? New report says guardians in space would be asset for future ops.
“The adaptability and flexibility of human decision-making, as well as their ability to conduct a variety of mission operations, could present fundamental challenges to an adversary’s decision calculations,” the report said.
Thursday’s report, titled “A Broader Look at Dynamic Space Operations: Creating Multi-Dimensional Dilemmas for Adversaries,” says the Space Force must make all of its systems, not just its satellites, more maneuverable, flexible, and survivable amid China’s rapid push to improve technology for tracking and targeting U.S. military forces.
Charles Galbreath, the former Space Force officer and current senior fellow at the Mitchell Institute who wrote the report said putting guardians physically in space may also give the military an advantage.
“It is important to remember the fact that the most flexible system ever launched into space by the United States is the human being,” the report said. “Just as human astronauts were essential to the repair of and upgrades to the Hubble Space Telescope and the rescue of several other satellites, guardians in space may be essential for future Space Force missions.”
