SEEMS LEGIT: Whistleblower will not testify in public, Democrats say.

The impeachment mess would look less like a kangaroo court and an insult to the Constitution and congressional institutions if it weren’t such a kangaroo court and an insult to the Constitution and congressional institutions.

COLD WAR II: Russia’s Suspected Internet Cable Spy Ship Appears Off Americas.

According to position tracking data, the Russian Navy’s Yantar left her home port about a month ago, and has not been visible on open sources until suddenly appearing in the Caribbean on Friday. That she appeared on ship trackers so suddenly is unusual.

She has gained attention in the past for hovering in the vicinity of the undersea cables which connect the world. Called Submarine Communications Cables (SCC), these crisscross the world’s oceans carrying Internet traffic and military communications.

Yantar is a ship of particular interest among Western Navies. According to naval officers familiar with the situation, she is suspected of being involved in placing listening devices on undersea communications.

Just another front in the shadow war Russia is waging against the West. I’d like if we hit them back — electronically, of course — until they cut this stuff out.

NED RYUN: Our Elites Don’t See What’s Coming.

As our constitutional republic faces the wrecking balls of the Left and is asked to endure as they smash away at every norm that has made this country great, many Republicans find themselves conveniently absent from the action. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), for example, sure does love himself a TV hit—and I have to tell you, his super-duper “enthusiasms” while on TV almost make me want to believe him when he says he is serious about being effective. But then another day goes by and it’s clear he lacks the stones actually to hold hearings and subpoena the corrupt cabal that has massively abused our surveillance state and law enforcement regime.

Richard Burr (R-N.C.)? Well, he’s been off in “la-la land” for quite some time. At some point, for decency’s sake, he should just give the title of chairman of Senate Intel to Mark Warner (D-Va.) so as actually to reflect reality. One would think confronting injustice and illegal behavior should be pretty standard, common sense sort of stuff. But then again, Swamp Creatures are hardly paragons of truth and justice. So let’s assume until things change that Graham and Burr have zero problem with what has happened over the last few years; heck, they might be implicated in what could be uncovered.

This all leads us to a serious problem that we as a country are facing: we’ve been losing trust in our institutions for quite some time.

UGH: US Military Duped Into Buying Chinese Cameras Rife With Flaws. “According to the Justice Department, New York-based Aventura Technologies has been concealing that its network-connected camera products were made in China while raking in millions through lucrative contracts with the US military and government agencies.”

Rife with flaws — and who knows what else.

FROM PJMEDIA MANAGING EDITOR PAULA BOLYARD: Join PJ Media VIP and Help Us Defend Freedom.

Loyal readers of PJ Media are well aware of the challenges we conservatives face in an era when Big Tech makes the rules and we’re forced to follow them—websites like ours are increasingly finding ourselves at the mercy of Big Tech executives who don’t share our values and are often hostile to them. Forces beyond our control are constantly trying to force us into their boxes so they can silence our conservative message. Make no mistake: the left will stop at nothing in their efforts to silence us. They’re demanding we be de-platformed and demonetized and they are succeeding beyond their wildest dreams. Hardly a day goes by that we don’t see one of our conservative friends or colleagues being booted off a social media platform or having his or her PayPal account frozen. To make matters worse, the current ad-based revenue model, which most websites currently rely on to fund their operations, is increasingly unsustainable and may disappear completely in the next few years as advertisers shy away from running ads on political websites. Ad vendors are increasingly trying to tell us what we can and cannot publish.

Conservative media is at a crossroads — we can fight to conserve what we have, or quit and let the left control what we read and view online. We cannot let that happen. We will not.

When we tried our soft launch of the VIP section yesterday, interest was great enough that it blew up the new signup system — sorry about that!

Nothing will change here at Instapundit, and I’ll keep doing what I’ve been doing on the ad-supported parts of PJMedia. On top of all that though, in the VIP section I’ll be able once more to attack the kind of stuff from the old VodkaPundit.com days. That’s me and the rest of the PJ crew.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: MSM Finally Finds a Whistleblower It Doesn’t Like.

These depraved psychopaths are the same people who have been having a love affair with whistleblowers ever since Chelsea Manning was just a traitor named Bradley. They lionized Edward Snowden and, for the past several weeks have been portraying the second-hand hearsay whistleblower in the impeachment nonsense as the second coming of John the Baptist.

But the person who exposed just how long ABC was a perv hideout gets fired. The fact that CBS was willing to exact ABC’s revenge for them makes me wonder just how much more there is hidden.

Lots, would be a safe bet.
